"There isn't a power lift gate because they expect the owners of these to be in shape" 😂
Darn, it's a deal breaker but I am trying to get back in shape;)
@@bshaw71 Damn right! 🤣
The greatest thing about your channel is that you don't BS. You just see if the car or truck go up a steep hill. Simple! We love it!
There is BS in URABUS 😂 That URABUS content was funny!
I’m wonderfully surprised it handled the hill test. Yes, a turbo-STI, version and manual of this would be awesome.
It's why we stuck with our '14 FXT. When they offer the FA24DIT (or whatever the current equivalent of the FA20DIT is called) in the Forester, we'll probably have to cave in and finally get a new one even though our UCV (Urban Combat Vehicle) is still running strong with near literally zero downtime (in fact, I'm trying to remember if it's ever been in for anything outside of an alignment).
YES!! THAT WOULD BE PERFECT❤
Yeah! Why not 500 hp while you're at it. All for under $30K, too!
I do wonder if part of the reason why it made it up the hill was because of software that controls every aspect of where the power is going to is only possible with an automatic transmission. That said, I wouldn't ever do anything that crazy offroad so I am totally ok with a more "primitive" manual drivetrain. my 18 wrx has driven through some insane blizzards and snow banks and all of it was on oem diffs. having more ground clearance in my city would make a lot of sense. and I just have a soft spot for wagons and hatchbacks
would have bought one if it had a manual and wasn't slow AF.
We got a '24 non-Wilderness edition earlier this year. Great car, but I really wish Subaru would stop moving all the controls to the touch screen.
It takes eyes off the road to see the touch screen. Not the safest design.
That hill test was phenomenal. I don't expect it will pass. And was not even struggling at all. Well done.
I remember the OBW didnt even pass if i remember. Subaru did something with awd to improve it for some reason.
and it was not even in the most aggressive setting.
@@jeffnaval4894 the obw isn't the most capable wilderness in all situations. The crosstrek and forester wilderness are much lighter and have shorter wheelbases.
I'll love to see a cybetruck do that
Subaru doesn't bs with their awd systems. No matter which car it is, normal or extra trims...the Subaru awd system can just put the power down. it's not just awd for the spec sheet, like Honda or Toyota.
The off-road demonstration here is OUTSTANDING. The overview/mechanical information is thorough. I have a history of buying Subaru vehicles: THIS is MORE Subaru than I need.
Crosstrek is a Swiss Army knife of crossovers. An absolute winner in my opinion
until it hits about 85-100k miles
@@davidrutledge1482Mine was over 200k when I exchanged it to another Crosstrek. The only problem was the MT clutch did not like to be burning all the time on our mountain tracks. So It is a CVT now.
@@carbonbased5041 mind if I ask about abit more what you mean ? Thinking about getting a manual cross trek. Can clutch burn even if your still trying to be as careful as possible in the back country ?
Sarah: I very much appreciate the high attention to vehicle details and specifications mentioned in your videos. Thank you!
Your reviews are the best and the most fun to watch! Thanks Sarah! Love your channel ❤
Home from a busy day at the shop, fighting a cold and need to finish writing a paper. Your video was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dismal day.
My first video review of yours.... Amazing presenter skills, accurate and detailed information and specs, great tests and challenges, hilarious and gorgeous, keep up the great work!! :)
Great review as always, and thanks for the metric conversions!
Sarah, thank you for making learning about cars fun and interesting.
This was one of the best car reviews i watched. just as it supposed to be.
Great job!
Thank you for being a caring and not a Karen. You truly care about giving useful information in your reviews.
Because i'm not a real journalist lol
“A place to teleport pennies to another dimension “ 😂 Perfect
Yo,
I lover your car reviews. Your nuggets of knowledge are awesome
Happy Humpday Sarah!!!
WOW!! I was yelling expletives of astonishment at my phone, as you conquered the hill in that thing.😁 Having taken my JKU up and down that same hill, the camera doesn't do it justice on how steep it is, that was certainly impressive.
I do get a kick out of all the Crosstreks running around Tucson with the all terrain BFGs on them, they look fun, in a few years they will be infiltrating the Gambler 500 cheater class for sure.
Stay excellent!!!😎
Yes! The small auxiliary cooler in front IS for the CVT. That along with the uprated low ratio rear diff, bumps towing capacity up to 3,500 lbs 🤘🤘. Thx4 lifting vehicles during your reviews since most other reviewers don't do that 😇.
This review is a work of art. Bravo.
No manual makes me all the sad. At least the Subaru CVT isn't a nightmare.
Exactly. Save the manual transmissions.
It's tragic!!!!!
It’s a nightmare
Let's take a second and thank Subaru for making the only CVT that doesn't feel like a total nightmare.
Then, let's promptly shame them into adding a manual
@@Saytheodd It's not. Overall very reliable and I prefer the way they tune their CVT to many other companies.
Hot damn! I've watched a bunch of reviews on this car but I've been waiting for yours. You know Subies and are far more thorough than most reviewers.
Agree
Only Sarah can give a review thats as informative as it is entertaining, in Sarah's kinda way.😊
Loved the shout out to the gold wheels. Just got a set for my 23 WRX with a PROPER transmission.
Thanks for the wealth of technical info presented in the classic 'brilliant but brief' manner we all love you for!
Thanks for another wonderful review Sarah!!
Also agree, Subaru step your game up with aftermarket support, and save the manuals!
Thanks for the laughs, I've been looking for a second car and now I want to go test drive one of these, again thanks for a great review, you are awesome!
Your content has so many qualities Sarah! It's technically rich but easy to follow and absolutely entertaining at the same time, as you clearly love what you do and show that love in every step of the way. It's a real pleasure (actually a privilege, really) to follow you here in CZcams, cheers and greetings from Brazil. 😊🙏
I just bought mine with the same color "Pearl white" love it! Love this review!
Love your car reviews, thank you!
Nice review! I just picked up the big brother Outback Wilderness. So far so good!
Looking gorgeous as always Sarah!! Another great review too!!
Thank you so much for this review!
Great review! (subbed) loved the hill test part! this is on my short list of cars to get to replace the forester Im giving my son for college in the spring.
Once again, great, honest review!
Thank you for releasing this at what is a sane hour in the UK - about 22.00 hrs here.
wow u the first car reviewer to review starting at the bottom! MAJOR KUDOS!
I hit the like button on all your videos. I think you’re awesome. Thank you very much for the videos. Love, Justin.❤
Hell yes on the WRX engine and manual, AND wheels that match the Bronze/Gold accents.
It would be easier to swap in a dual range transmission. Add in some good quality skid plates and full sized spare on an external carrier then go hit Imogene & Black Bear Pass in Colorado and what trails we're still allowed to drive in Moab.
Your reviews are the best and most fun to watch.
no need for dual range subarus already do imogene and Black bear with cvt's
this was good I liked watching you get on it, I can't wait to see you driving your 74 Celica!
Love your review. Thanks.
I really love the speaker flash, so I know to turn up and listen to the engine . I really enjoy your content as I am a huge subaru fan as well. Plus, I get learn much more 😊.
Not knowing your background, I was really impressed with you climbing the hill and knowing those bumps are called whoops! Great review, thank you.
You've got to do more reviews, you're channel is awesome, so much detail and knowledge. You're better than most review channels. Keep up the great work.
Good review, Sarah n Tune.
Great, in Europe we can watch your video without waiting until tomorrow morning despite the time difference. That Subaru looks good.
This should be another epic review from her Sarah-ness 😊❤️
Truely the best at what you do.
Great review, I'm enjoying my new Crosstrek Wilderness, but haven't had time to really play with it yet.
Thank you! Getting one soon.
Thank you Sarah! 💜
I always love the brake and acceleration test !!
love it just paid off my 18 crosstrek this year so time to get a new daily driver with more ground clearnce and better features. I have 165 k mi on my crosstrek now still going strong 💪🏾
I traded my 2018 Crosstrek Limited in for the 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness about two months ago and I absolutely love it!
@@jamesponicsan6129 Looking at trading in my 2018 crosstrek at the moment. What do you think is most different about your new model from the old one?
@@TheSpoovy There are a number of things which influenced my decision. These are the biggest factors: color display is much larger and easy to use, the 10 speaker updated sound system, the updated seats are more comfortable, the extra ground clearance and protective molding around the front, sides and rear, the larger but still quite efficient engine giving a great boost in horse power, the wireless bluetooth connectivity and charging, updated LED fog lights, adaptive cruise control and extra clearance. It also has decent towing if you will be pulling anything such as a boat or camper. I also love the looks. I have had it a little over four months and absolutely love it. My wife actually went and bought a Crosstrek Limited just a couple weeks ago because of all the safety features and Subaru's dependability/resale value.
thank you, excellent review
The head lights wiggle during start up
Kool!!
Great video review! Worth a subscribe. Crosstreks are great.
600k soon. Well deserved. 🎉
One of my co workers have Crosstrek & i drove it few times, what an awesome & amazing car, Subaru are kicking it
The graphic on the rubber base in the cupholders is a mountain peak. The same mountain peak that's on the plastic trim on the rear bumper, the one that has the little Crosstrek on it. My friend just bought one of these. It's pretty badass.
Another great review ! Its like a pet billy goat
Great review. The Crosstrek does have a telemetry screen that shows what the AWD system is doing as well as angle of climb or decent and tilt angle.
Just got 2024 “Shport” trim. Has the 2.5. I love it.
It doesn't have lockers because it uses the brakes to limit the slit on spinning wheels. It's not really meant for hard core trailing but it works well enough for the occasional in over my head moments.
I have the 2022 crosstrek limited ,they are almost identical. I paid $35,600 for mine .I'll jump in a wilderness when it comes with a turbo .the 2.5 isn't bad though. I can get up to interstate speed before the onramp ends .I love my Subaru!
As a former Crosstrek owner, you've done an amazing review.
Thank you so much for the clip. I am so envy of you that you get to do all of the driving. I m going to have to buy one. However, I still doing the comparison among all of the wilderness trim.
And yes, to own one of these a person should be in a decent shape. Lol
Again, thank you so much. Be well.
The hiiills are alliiivee with the sounds of "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"
Good video! Would like to hear your comparison between the wilderness models too! Like you did between the Outback and Forester Wilderness models.
Yes!!!! The seat bolster test!!!!!!
There is a telemetry screen on them. It comes in handy. Nice video. Take care.
I’m getting a vibe. When you hit things with your pointer. 😂 lol. I crack myself up.
loved your review!......looks good....concerned about the CVT though, but its worth a chance
BS on the CVT.
Thanks Sarah, it is sad that there is no manual version, but it is surprisingly agile. I really didn't expect it to climb all the way to the top of that hill.
Me either! lol
You could’ve crawled under the center, when it was nearing the top.
Isn't it a bit slow from 0-60?
@@GJJC13 it's not a road racer, it's a sport utility vehicle. As long as it gets you wherever you are going it doesn't need a high 0-60. And as far as this video proves, it can even climb over things with normal road tyres.
The manual was a turd with 150hp
My aunt and uncle with the 15 Forrester XT in fact it’s the same color you have Sarah they just broke down and sold their 19 navigator and bought a fully loaded outback XT!
The wilderness edition suburus are all so cute!
Great video, I would have used deep snow and mud x mode option for steeper climbs in case the wheels need to spin for more power climbing. The snow and dirt option turns off automatically if wheel spin speed higher. BTW, the fuel numbers on the screen are miss tagged for MPG comb and Hwy and for liters per 100 km city is higher than hwy which is inconsistent with mpg rankings .
The Harmon/Kardon is totally worth, was doing some hard jammin to "You ain't seen nothing yet" whilst chasing down an Altima 2 days ago.
I enjoyed the video! 🤣🤙🏻
Here for the sound effects, pointer, and wit.
Really great and inspiring hill climb! thanks!
Nice review
Nice work great review
Sarah is🔥
😎👍🍺🇦🇺
Wow finned rear diff body and cover. That's an upgrade I hadn't seen before.
Great review! this thing seriously needs matching bronze wheels though.
Thanks Sarah 🌻🐧
Needs lockers and manual for sure. Thx for sharing.
You are awesome! 😊❤
Looks like a temporary vehicle. Love your reviews!
I’m so excited to get a wilderness Crosstrek, no need for a lift or new tires. Maybe a frontrunner roof rack. Just wish I could get the rims in 16” cuz I actually like the stock wilderness rims
the additional heat exchanger is for the cvt. its what allows it to tow more than the non wilderness to keep the cvt fluid from overheating
It’ll probably also increase the longevity of the transmission under normal use as well.
I wish the Crosstrek had what the old Brat used to have... shift on the fly 2 Wheel Front Wheel Drive (default) - 4 Wheel Drive HI - 4 Wheel Drive Low. Rarely used the 4L, but when I did, it was super useful. :)
FA24 and a 6 speed as options needed. Nailed it.
Thanks for the review. I am going to test drive one of these and probably buy one. I've never done off roading, and I don't live in a rural area. The funny thing is that I need this kind of car just for Chicago pot holes and damaged roads, and driving in ice storms, and also because I am really rough on my car and bump into things. I think this appears to be the one vehicle that could finally handle all those things.
RIP crosstrek
Great impreza to crosstrek animation!
Perfect review and perfect stance........
Definitely a few things it needs, wider rims and tires, a turbo, a DCT and a wind deflector for the rear window which was covered in dirt just from a bit of testing.
You wanna spend 48k on this?
DCT would be stupid for off-roading
Your "Haha!" is the best.
Thank you. My outback can climb hills most every thing I have owned spin.
so, I just got the wilderness outback. it's a lot heavier but does come with the trail front-forward cam and a turbo. taking it to Colorado in Nov. not a Rubicon trail runner, but it can do a lot more than I ever need with xmode and the 9.5in ground clearance.
Thank you for pointing out that the rear sway bar is now chassis mounted Sarah of the in tune. Also, I noticed Subaru is getting a little hot and heavy with the sealant action….
