rewatching always learn things i missed. like the wise advice to add one table at a time and curate your collection and enjoy the journey. so tempting to go grab everything and end up with 100 tables that dont quite work the way you want and not know how to fix them yourself. also didnt realize popper adds backglass (b2s) and dmd (freezy) for fx3 tables where if you played them from steam you wouldnt have that. thanks for this video.

If media readings are too slow or very "jolty" on low hardware pc configurations (such as "low cpu" for example i5 760...), I suggest to activate Vlc GPU acceleration on vlc tweaks (preferences).Having Nvidia or AMD graphic card, can boost significantly media readings while pinup is running. I did not view this tip on nailbuster's wiki page I don't know why, however its essential.

10:30 If you don't see PinUpPlayer - it may be that your .dlls need to be unblocked not that they are in the wrong location. Go into the folder with the .dlls - right click and if they are blocked, check the unblock button to enable both dlls then PinUpPlayer will show up in your plugins.

I've tried everything with display setup but the menu always shows in landscape on my play field
what makes the pup dmd scoring and media videos show up on the pindmd3. it stopped working for me.
My wheelbar icons rotated 90 degrees somehow and i cant figure out how to get them back. Tried going to global settings and changing rotation to 0 or 90 or 270 but it doesnt seem to do anything. Any ideas?

I am getting an http/1.1 404 Not Found error when I try to load media via the internet search in media manager
How do you pause a table when it's launched via Popper? I went to Controller Setup in the Popper Setup program; I set a keyboard key (I play on a laptop, single screen) 'p' for Game Info/Flyer.
When I'm playing a table, pressing 'p' does nothing and pressing Esc, exits me back out to the popper menu.
I have tried enabling and disabling the "Disable ESC key" option in VPX's Configure Keys menu.

folllowing this tut all well and good untill you get to pinup popper firstly you never told us to extract the popper files anywhere so i extracted them to pinupsystem but when running the pinuppopperregister.bat it opens cmd and says no entries in the list and then closes
Button configuration (13:35) . Another question I double click have the configuration but my buttons on my cabinet won’t register? Do I need a particular board ? Works with pinballX .

tables work.. Everything great following instructions up until running as admin on PUPDMDControl_Register.bat , when running it pops open command line quick(1-2 sec) and can't read what happened. I even tried opening cmd prompt as admin and running it directly.. It force closes within 1 sec. (Win 10 Pro )
UPDATE: I edited the bat file and removed the EXIT for :ADMINITASKS , and it stayed and pop up windows continued.
That's normal. It just registers in the registry. Do the other steps and it should be fine.
I tried Pinball X, Y and then also Popper. I think that for a pincab and all its functionalities Popper is the most complete, but hard at first sight.
Sincerely i don't understand the "fight" vs standalone versions of Fx2|Fx3 (surely piracy copies) , maybe they have not been able to implement them, but please not talking about piracy that all this world of emulation is based on that...
The worst thing about Popper is the lack of a real uninstaller, i personally went under regedit and it put a lot of entries that would be nice they were removed, once user decide to clean uninstall it.

Great video, thanks. I've got Pinup popper working, got my tables and media all looking nice... but I did so using a keyboard. For the menu to work on my cab I would need the cab buttons to register... and this is where I am stuck. @13:18 in this video it shows how to register buttons, but for some reason it doesn't work for me. I am using a Virtuapin controller board monitor my plunger and buttons... anyone able to tell me how I can resolve? Thanks
Never mind... classic RTM issue, forgot to enable the DirectX joydriver under the wheel settings.

Hello , I’m stuck at the part you move the play field to a different monitor. It always goes back to my back glass. I even reloaded it . Why won’t it move and stay? Saving doesn’t work either?
Do you have your playfield as the default monitor? It has to be.

If you don't see Pinup in the plugins, most likely you have not linked the b2s folder. is your normal DOF working well?

So I'm not getting the puplog.txt to show up in vpname folder. Nailbuster's troubleshooting says the main cause of this is not having the correct freezy exe files. I'm using freezy 1.71 (86 bit). Is that the one you're using too? Thx
Yes i am using 1.71. What is you issue exactly? i am not sure what Puplog does.
@@MajorFrenchy Not all the pup videos are showing up during gameplay. Nailbuster says if that's the case, check your puplog.txt file in vpmame folder. If it's not there its typically due to having wrong freezy or wrong freezy settings. Just curious if I was even using the right freezy. I have it not in my C drive. I wonder if that's the issue. I'll try reinstalling everything on my C drive and see if that works.
@@chucksgrace3225 there is also a possiblity that not all video shows because the pinup popper pack is for topper and backglass or just backglass. Depending whether or not you have a topper it may impact what videos are being shown.
@@MajorFrenchy Thx I'm sure I'll figure it out. Had it working pretty close to perfect before but had to reinstall windows and now I cant get it work very well anymore.
The exact same thing happened to me and I was using 1.71 at the time. I downloaded 1.72, installed it and everything has been working great ever since.

You did not address v9 legacy emulator installs. Other than that very nice video with great info.
A lot of things were not covered, Zaccaria, Mame etc... the principle is the same.
I noticed you successfully got pupdmdcontrol to work for FX3 which allows for the dmd on FX3 to work upon launch without having to use freezy's dmd.ext directly. Could you possibly share your launch script? I'm using the following but still struggling to get the dmd to come up upon launch. Thanks. The games launch fine, the DMD just doesn't show up. I think it also has something to do with your altexe settings for each game in game manager.

I will share my script when i get home, but my exprience is that Freezy looks very ugly on Fx3. I use the original DMD.

Your saying popper when its pinup player?
Honestly this is ok. Everyone wants to tout Popper as the greatest but it’s not. Still too many hurdles to setup tables.
It is actually a lot easier to setup everything now that the automatic media downloader is part of the software. I was sceptical at first when someone told me, When you go to Popper, you don't go back to PinballX
