Thank you so much for this. I was able to turn my father's shirts into my own. He wore guayabera shirts, which are a big part of our culture. I held onto them after he passed and now I finally am able to wear them myself. This was such a special gift, thank you!

I’m so glad! One of my runway pieces was made from a guayabera shirt. I always look for them at the thrift store and can never find them.

There's a shirt that I've been holding on to because i love the fabric but the sleeves are wayyyyy too long but I couldn't decide how to deal with that. I'm going to do this up cycle to it. Thanks so much for the idea and instructions!

I finally tried this at home and had pretty good success. I take full ownership of the problems I had. Your instructions were great.
Next time, I’m going to take notes before I start cutting. I missed the instruction to tip the cut line at the shoulder. It still turned out okay, but I bet it would be even better if I actually followed your instructions.
I also cut the side panels a little too short. I think next time, I’ll cut them extra wide and long to allow for more adjustments.

Hi. I love the idea of using a men’s dress shirt in this way! At the end of this video, you are pictured in a black off the shoulder top in front of your doorway. Is there a tutorial for that top? I love that one, too!

For the pocket you can always rub that part with your nail and it help it disappear tried it before it is a bit time consuming but it works

    • @BlueprintDIY

I guess you could make a fold on each side at the shoulder down to the bottoms and just cut open the sides. Hope that makes sense.
