The Cumulative Share of Global CO2 Emissions Since 1750 (From Coal)
Vložit

- The video shows the share of cumulative carbon dioxide emissions from coal by major countries since 1750. This is based on territorial emissions, which do not account for emissions embedded in traded goods.

o7 i dont know if this channel will ever upload again but ive been here since 2018 and this still gotta be one of the best youtube channels of all time. thank you for your work, whoever was behind this!
Same I've been here a bit shorter than you but I hope he/she comes back
They made him disappear for showing the truth.
It's funny that even till today the cumulative emissions of the UK and Germany are greater than Russia and India. Such disparity. Just look at the population and country sizes.
The UK pretty much invented pollution and Germany is very close to the UK and had many similarities to the UK so it sort of makes sense.
Yeah and considering the fact that India is developing country and doesn't have access to a lot of clean energy because it's expensive.
@@yougoslavia How condescending... The UK didn't invent pollution, but industry. This has been a huge step for humanity as a whole, and it was long before we knew about climate change.
UK's energy mix isn't perfect by any means, but the world would be a lot better if all countries had a similar one with less than 4% of their energy coming from coal.
@@eqsrtsergt4480 The UK used to be really polluted in the cities.
@@yougoslavia Of course, every city had major pollution issues before they addressed them. Pollution comes with high productions of anything, which is the point of the existence of cities in the first place.
Where have you gone?
Goodbye Wawamu. Thank you for inspiring me.

Me too
Can y’all do an updated world sex ratio thanks
Now do PER CAPITA so people aren't mislead.
doesn't change the trend
@@eqsrtsergt4480 Well China for example China drops 40 spots. Below all of EU, USA, middle east, Japan, Korea etc. It is also worth discussing that when you order something from Amazon it is produced in China. Meaning it should be on Americas CO2 emissions sheet but is put on China, Vietnam and Indias CO2 stats.
@@SparaPengar Again, it doesn't change the TRENDS. Also it's coal emissions only, Coal is mostly a domestic source of energy.
China doesn't drop 40 places, but only 12. Even per capita, they're the 13th highest coal consumers.
There is something to be said about importing carbon emissions but really it's still China benefitting from using shitty energy sources when we import their products. It should be regulated internationally to give incentives for governments to switch to greener electricity. China is already doing so with a lot of nuclear plants btw.
Excellent point! India has had amongst the lowest per capita CO2 emissions!
@@N0Xa880iUL Please. India has the 2nd highest coal consumption by far, even if you correct for population, they are not looking good. And they don't really have as much as an excuse about being the factory of the world like China or USA who export a lot more. This is mostly domestic use.
And to be honest, it's not a problem to look at these statistics by country. I don't see why anyone would think it is "misleading". Global warming doesn't care whether the emissions comes from a country with more or less inhabitants. The more people in your country, the more responsibility you have to tackle climate change and to fucking stop using coal.
India has a bad electricity mix and must do better, just like many other countries. They are still increasing their coal consumption every passing year. Coal has to become an energy source from the past asap.
When will ur new video come?? Please upload some
This is saddest music ever when parents died

beautiful humanity, terraforming the planet, we need MORE CO2
Not funny, I'm from the UK, and we had 90C plus days this summer for days on end. We are ALL at risk of either burning or drowning within half a century. Don't joke, it's real, it's deadly to us and all other life on this planet.

First, also hello

I love how much the emissions by the UK have decreased. While others' emissions have increased. It's a great achievement. And it will decrease more in the future.
Nah. It's per capita emission is still super high. Far ahead of China.
Why's that bad? And it just shows that the other countries were emmiting more, doesn't mean UK was emitting less.
It didn't decrease... its cumulative but shown as a percentage of global emissions
@@michaelqdlap at least it remained constant
@@NZC_Meow These are cumulative emissions, so it will have still been increasing even while decreasing as a fraction of the total global cumulative emissions
"usa is the best country"
Soon China will be the best, since they pollute more.
In time Asian and African countries may produce more emissions, than the first to industrialised did, unless we all move to renewables. If we ALL don't it will be fatal for life on Earth.
bruh this isnt since 1750 its since 1900 you can clearly see it starts at 1900
You can also see that several countries already have their coal usage factored in at the start of the video. Presumably what's already been burned between 1750 and 1900.
Cumulative.
These numbers can't go down, unless they're percentages.
It's the amount they've produced since 1750.
