      @@theviewer4442 She likely was one when she was young, but I hear Dramatic Soprano here when she's older and had stopped pursuing opera long before.
      She studied at prestigious institutes for several years beginning at 8 and was singing Spinto arias by 13, even then saying she would lighten her voice. Her teachers primarily considered her a Dramatic Soprano as well. Not much of a point in speculation.

    • @theviewer4442
      @theviewer4442 Před rokem

      @@XxQueenChristinaxX She is a spinto soprano, his physique betrays that she is a spinto, her voice reminds me of spinto sopranos Lenny Eversong and Elaine Martins, she is thin, tall, strong, athletic and small-headed, all the characteristics of a spinto soprano, her lower register has a dark brown color just like the mezzo sopranos, all spinto sopranos have the same brunette quality in the lower register as the mezzosopranos, the dramatic sopranos have the same low register as the contralto, because only dramatic soprano and contralto have this blackness color in the low notes.
      Training you have but a spinto soprano will never be dramatic soprano or mezzosoprano, because the fach vocal is permanent, as it is not classified by extension it is classified by physical faculties and vocals faculties, even if a blowing spinto gets old, it will always remain spinto, because its vocal tract and vocal folds will continue to be spinto for the rest of its life.

    • @XxQueenChristinaxX
      @XxQueenChristinaxX Před rokem +8

      @@theviewer4442 You clearly place too much emphasis on physique. I'm not going to help you there.
      Your tone color comparison makes little sense and once again you ignore that this can be technically manipulated, especially when you said that Dramatic Soprano and Contralto have the same lower register.
      I'm not familiar with Martins but she sounds closer to Spinto Soprano than Leny Eversong who I've always heard as a Mezzo-Soprano with a solid top and a preference for a brighter tone. I can see how she could be called a Spinto but I don't believe that's accurate.
      Eversong clearly doesn't fit "all the characteristics of a Spinto Soprano" according to you. Enough of that.
      I doubt Reed is considered tall at 5'3"/160 cm. Again, height isn't going to determine Fach, it's the vocal tract that matters here.
      The belief that a singer singing Spinto Soprano barely in her teens couldn't possibly end up at Dramatic Soprano in mature adulthood is also ridiculous.

    • @theviewer4442
      @theviewer4442 Před rokem

      @@XxQueenChristinaxX ridiculous is classifying the voice of a teenager who is going through hormonal change, it is ridiculous to call Leny Eversong a mezzosoprano, since Eversong metal in the middle and upper registers is silver like that of every spinto soprano and not the bronzed metal of the mezzosopranos voice, Leny Eversong's vocal tract and folds are clearly a spinto soprano, Vivian Reed is clearly a spinto soprano, she doesn't sound like a dramatic soprano, the only dramatic soprano I've heard in pop is Adele.

    Her lower range has definitely profited from her training, I'm sure. So full! As a soprano, you have to be like a man when singing low so it can be full. Ponselle sounded manly singing low. Also, it's a shame how she overpowered those children on G4 at 11:44.Completely covered their singing 😂. I Came back to C5's. They are consistently very resonant and we'll produced. Another key to resonance seems to be how your pronounce the vowels. Bless the "Chaaaalld" not "chiiiii". The "aa" and "oo" helps. If that makes sense. Just a lay observation. Shirley does similar.

    I’m so glad she’s getting more shine these days… her range and scope deserve all the flowers.
    I came across her music as a teenager at a second hand record store. I bought her self titled 1970 album because I liked the cover and fell in love with her voice. I didn’t realise at the time how understated she was being on this record but loved it all the same.
    Potentially controversial but her version of Lean on me is my favourite. Aside from the nostalgia of being drawn to the song it has the effect of transporting me to a time I did not exist in. There’s a kind of sad longing in her version.
    I love Aretha’s and Melba’s version too though. Thanks for this post.

    Yea sorry I really did give her voice many chances.
    She sounded best in Bubbling brown sugar before the low notes with the very low larynx portions.
    Not a fan of the tone of her voice :/ but she is very very talented for sure

      Her low larynx is done very healthily.

      @@KajiVocals very many. Etta James, Olivia dean, Marvin Gaye, Tina Turner, Lizzo(despite her overt sexualisation), Whitney, Mariah, tori, Mary j Blige, John legend, Rihanna, Patti, Destiny's child (I think Michelle William's voice was the best during her time there. Outside of the girl group she is way too shouty for my tastes), Lalah Hathaway, Michael Jackson, Chaka Khan, Bruno Mars, Avery Wilson, Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, Aretha Franklin, Alicia Keys, Diana Ross, Louis Armstrong, Aaliyah, Doja Cat. She has her moments but overall not a fan. Her musicality is very lacking and her timbre is overbrightened, white-toned/shrill.

    Great work! But I refuse to believe you do all this by yourself for each singer and you listen to all their studio songs, their live performances and do these vocal range youtube videos that last even like 1-2 hours for each singer. You must definitely have a software program that just analyzes the notes of each song automatically. There is no way you listen to all these studio vocals, live vocals for each note for every singer. Great work tho!!! Keep it up

      I do listen to all of it… and post my research on the Range Planet. I research for many months before even starting editing a video.
