- The NXT championship is the world title of the NXT brand. It’s the most prestigious championship in the so called developmental brand. Its legacy is very strong, infact there have been very few lulls when you think of NXT champions. That being said success in NXT doesn’t always translate in the land of the giants over on RAW and Smackdown.
Time and time again we've seen superstars succeed in NXT then struggle when they go to RAW or Smackdown. In this video I take a look at how every single NXT champion has done on the "main roster" - Hry

The misuse of Nakamura and Balor must be made into a criminal offence.
Nakamura was his own fault, guy never cared after his first match in NXT. He just wants to live in America and surf everyday.

I think with samoa Joe , he got injured and concussed wayy too much for them rely on him
But he still deserved to be in the main event
You can see that in between his injuries, WWE tried to push him. For example, his US Championship run was somewhat dominant, but then he got injured. Once again, his match with Lesnar, they showed him as a threat, even though the match was short, he got quite a bit of offense in.

A very interesting video. I think the biggest flaw in the NXT Call-Ups system is that hardly any of them have been different to others. They've mostly all just been 'talented' guys who are either happy to be there, or have wrestled 'all over the world'. That isn't/hasn't ever been enough to engage with a mainstream audience. Along with the fact that Vince McMahon doesn't understand these people at all haha. But yeah, very good video as usual.

Tommaso Champa said that if he gets called up, he’s going to retire from WWE.
Then lets hope Ciampa doesn’t get called up, the man is fantastic in NXT, he fits in really well, I don’t see him as a main roster guy

Roode is an interesting one. Like if you look at his promos and wrestling in NXT, it looks like it would fit perfectly in the main roster. Two wrestlers that come to mind that weren’t fan favorites in NXT because they had a “main roster” style, are Corbin and Elias. Didn’t really do anything in NXT, but they get more airtime than some of the other NXT call ups that accomplished more down there 🤷🏻♂️

Out of the 19 NXT champions (except the 4 that haven't gone up yet) only 4 have had successful careers on the main roster being Seth Rollins, Big E, Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre (and maybe Sami Zayn depending on how you thought of his heel run) the rest are other released, jobbers or just not even on TV

Every single NXT champions had/ has a lot of potential... but the main Roster just don't know sometimes what do with this all potential

Nine of the nineteen NXT champions are not with the company in 2022. Bron Breaker was the 19th as of January 4th of this year, so that means 50 percent eventually get released or later leave the company.

Only 3 went on to win the WWE championship (Rollins, McIntyre and Big E) while two others were crowned Universal Champion in Owens and Finn Balor.

There were a lot of missed opportunities with nxt call-ups but none bigger than Alister Black. Dude has the hallmarks of a main event star. Great look, crazy ability, unique finish and cool entrance. He could have been like a future Undertaker but modernized type character. Vince really F'ed up with that one.
I love watching this from the future where Seth has furthered his legacy, Sami has skyrocketed up the roster with Kevin, and people like Adam Cole, Keith Lee, and Samoa Joe have gone to AEW

Okay about Bobby Roode. I think he should be a main event heel right now. Because Bobby Roode is fantastic as the heel. Not only has NXT shown that, but TNA. Dear God Bobby was an amazing heel, I hated him. That meant he was doing his job. The only time I ever truly liked Roode as the face, was when he was in Beer Money, and James Storm ain't here. So Roode should be in the main event or top mid card.

We see some of them who were Intercontinental Champions, United States' Champions or Universal Champions, but winning championships is not the only thing that matters. What matters are the matches and stories they protagonice, for example Owens was even Universal Champion but his title runs were boring and it seemed like Owens was a coward who runs from Braun Strowman instead of the betrayer bastard he was on NXT. Same with Zayn, Nakamura, Roode, Cien Almas, Balor and more.
Apart from black and Kross, every one else has held more than the nxt championship. cole, gargano, ciampa former nxt champs who haven't stayed on the main roster

@@jerrym1218 You're incorrect on two accounts, Big E isn't coming for the IC Championship, he came for it and he got it. Big E is champion now and Big E came to the main roster in December of 2012 Sami came to NXT in 2013.
@Themfeels101- Yeah I just caught up with Smackdown and see that Big E has become IC Champ, it is most definitely well deserved. As for him and Sami’s time in NXT, thank you for correcting me with the accurate account of their time there. I feel like it was a long time ago already, and my age is catching up to me, because I have been forgetting some things already. Hopefully Big E has a long reign and develops good rivalries with some members of the Smackdown roster.
This is better than Pllana Productions.
A word from the future:
Lee will lose the belt to Kross, get a win over Randy Orton and do nothing until his release a few months later. Kross would become a megastar in NXT just to be turned into a joke in the main roster and released shortly after. Balor had another reign, lost to Kross and by the time he returned to the main roster nothing changed really. Then BOOM Samoa Joe wins the title and gets released without moving to the main roster. Chiampa is champ again, loses to Breaker and is still nowhere near the main roster.
Honourable mentions: from past NXT champions Adam Cole, Bo Dallas, Johny Gargano Aleister Black and Andrade have been also released or let go.
