The New NXT - What's WWE Thinking?

  • NXT for years has been delivering some of the best professional wrestling in the world. Early on the show started as a game show but then was rebranded as WWE's new developmental territory. Early on we saw some pretty big success stories like Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Paige & Bray Wyatt. But as the years wore on, NXT geared towards catering to their hardcore fans - oppose to creating new stars for RAW & Smackdown. NXT at this point was seen as one of, if not the best promotion in North America. All Elite Wrestling entered the picture and shook that from the ground up, and since then the show has been in a bit of a tailspin. After losing the "war" to AEW NXT has new sights. A new logo, a new stage, and a new feel is coming to the former black and gold brand.

    This was a very informative video! I haven't watched WWE in like 10 years and seeing NXT turn into a independent circuit versus the shit show it first originated as, I was confused as to why people were saying it was getting worse.
    So question: do the majority of people want it to be somewhat of an independent third brand, with it's own unique style or just want it to be a developmental "holding" ground so they can eventually move up to the main roster to add more stars? Also, why did it take Vince so long to step in when he realized a lot of the talent wasn't transitioning properly, that just seems like it should've been the main concern over ratings.

    • @papiiluvz
      @papiiluvz Před 2 lety +20

      That is a legitimate question. But if I can answer, NXT being a 3rd brand serves literally zero purpose. It doesn't cater to the WWE style nor does it perform (as good as people say it does) well in terms of numbers
