- The Bomberman franchise is really underrated, but Bomberman 64 was a turning point in the series. I want to show you the impact that it had on the franchise, and how important it was at the time.
So this is my 1 year anniversary video. I can't believe I've been at it for an entire year, and I hope to keep going on for more and more!
Special shout out to my buds Furst and Zoiney for lines and general help with getting this out there. Couldn't have done it without them and the several people that help me on a day to day basis.
Hope y'all enjoy!

Oh Bomberman... I will always miss you
NOT ANYMORE!!!
ikr?
They announced a new Bomberman game for the Switch
I was hoping the new bomberman was going to be in the 3d exploration format instead of the grid system
"Beaten casually in an hour"?? It took me over 2 years to beat the campaign as a kid, and even that it remained my favourite game for far longer because of its multiplayer :S
64 and Hero were two of my favourite games on that console. I also remember using the multitap at a friends house for possibly my first 4 player simultaneous gaming experience. Thanks for making one of your great videos on a subject near and dear to me!
Bomberman is one of the greatest series of video games. He's had some ups and downs, but it's been a fun ride. I have ONLY played Bomberman Hero, and ohhhh THAT SOUNDTRACK! I will have to play Bomberman 64....I know I rented it once but the game didn't work when I was a kid. But man, this was a good in-depth look at the game. None of this 'omg u gotta collect 120 cards and fight a different boss woahhhh how crazyyy' type thing; a real look at how this game changed the series. Thank you for brining that to a light. I find it interesting that games like Bomberman Jetters use a 3D world for Single player, but the multiplayer is classical style, or how Bomberman was reduced to a series of weird minigames in Bomberman Land toward the end of his lifespan as a character. (RIP...:( )
The Bomberman game I look back on fondly but haven't played in years, other than Hero, is Bomberman World. Slow paced, the graphics were weird, but man, I played the shit out of that game.
Great video, man, and congrats on 1 year!
I was really hoping that Super Bomberman R would be like this.
6:42
"for whatever reason, i could not beat this game"
proceeds to state reason.
+Rixor12 well he could've just "stopped being a casual"
I loved this game as a kid! It took me 6 months to realize you could charge and stack bombs to get up platforms tho, and I was stuck on that water mill town level for months until that point. Fantastic game tho. Still one of my favorites on the n64!
This was always my favorite Bomberman game.... no other game in the series lived up to it for me... then again I didnt even know there was a second one.... *looks it up.... oh... it never got a PAL release NEVER MIND. rip Bomberman
***** Well if I ever get my hands on an american N64 I'll put it top of my list. lol
+OmegaJester09 Bomberman Hero is fucking amazing too.
Kyoko Oh yea? I'll have to keep an eye out for it then.
Nice pic btw, Kyouko is the best.
+OmegaJester09 It's really challenging, and 100% completing it is no walk in the park. The story, character design, and overall world design is lacking compared to Bomberman 64, but this is made up with some solid single player platforming. Bomberman can finally jump in this game. Overall, I wouldn't say Hero is better than 64 or vice versa, as they both bring a lot to the table, while also being quite different from each other. Oh, and both of their soundtracks are amazing, but are nothing alike.
Kyouko is my spirit animal.
Kyoko Yea my life is missing bomberman... hopefully I can find it for a decent price.
Bomberman, a game I missed in my youth, but discovered much later on.... but seeing channels like this...not only am I in agreement... but pleasantly surprise how well these games play today...charming and enjoyable...as a casual gamer this is must.
Bomberman 64 was one of my favorite games in my youth. Thanks for the tribute!
Heh heh, I'm gonna buy you Bomberman: The Second Attack
> $2,100 + Shipping.
I love you, Eruption, but not THAT much. Sweet video dude!
oh man, Bomberman 64 the Second Attack... Been so long since I played it, but it was always a childhood favourite of mine. Instant sub for the Bomerman franchise, a classic series overlooked on CZcams videos, and yours was awesome! Keep it up!
Had no idea this was a platformer. I played a SNES version and seen my friends playing the multiplayer and figured that is all it was. Have to pick this up.
I played Bomberma, Hero and 64 so much in my youth.
Personally, I think that in the fully 3D style, the spheric explosions works better. I wish they made an other full 3D game.
I was raised in a GPS household - my family would always argue over the quickest route to the abortion clinic.
Never played this game - ordered it while this video was playing as it looks so much fun! Great vid Bosstin!
Congrats on your 1 year check point! Can't wait to see what happens in the next!
As for Bomberman, they should totally make one for the modern age, where Bomberman tries saving a plane or an airport, but no-one understands him and he's called a terrorist...
EA GIMME ALL THE MONIES
Gosh I loved this video so much!
It's rare to see Bomberman getting this much love, so I'm glad to see it now! I really loved the SNES bomberman games as a kid, never played the N64 ones but I really wanted to play Bomberman Hero...
I miss Hudson...
I'm glad that you touched, even if briefly, on the music.
It's the thing i remember the most, I can still hum the melody of pretty much all of it.
I did not think this video was 9 years ago lol, thank you for making me interested in bomberman 64 only right now I’ve listened to the awesome soundtrack
UGHHHHH I love that game, but I was never able to 100% beat it. It's almost impossible to, curse you gold cards!!!!
Also that music though. One of my favorite OSTs! I'm so glad that my game still works.
Welcome to the 1 year club. Never played a bomberman game, but you've been talking about them so much it even bled onto my channel, so maybe i should give them a shot.
This is one of my favorite and most memorable games on the N64.
Unlocking the true ending blew my mind as a kid!
*Oh and the original, non traditional Bomberman multiplayer was the bees knees.
I honestly love this game!! Takes me back to the good old days.
I wish I've never gotten to sell this game when I was a kid.
Hell, I didn't get the chance to fight the final boss of the game.
I'm just glad a game reviewer gets the idea of how great this game is!
You should make a video on Bomberman Hero. You were right about it being one of the N64's best, but it's so obscure I feel like I'm the only one who played it back in the day. Plus it's legitimately one of the most bizarre, surreal and as a result, memorable games I've ever played.
Bomberman 64 was one of the most challenging puzzle/exploration games, that's what I liked about it. So many tricks you have to figure out to get all the gold cards
I just got these (bomberman hero) a few months ago.. love them.. kinda stopped playing my 64 recently but for weeks now i keep thinking.. "i should play bomberman".. thank you for turning my internal nagging into a youtube video!
A year of awesome boku content. :3 Let's hope for moar years. DON'T STOP BELIEVIN', HOLD ONTO THE FEEEEELLLIIIIIIIINNNGGG
so now there's THREE characters i want for smash. Shantae, Klonoa, and Bomberman.
Klonoa
Well, I already said Klonoa.. Unless you're talking about my profile pic. which is indeed, Klonoa...
Bomberman is now in smash.
Mah man, the year's been great. Lets' hope you keep on keepin' on.
Aw yeah! Bomberman 64 was awesome! I dont think I ever got past the 2nd level, but I loved exploring the worlds so much!
happy 1 year thinga magink
PS. love your work keep it up
or as one awesome dude said
"THIS SHOW IS THE SHAIIT"
Thank you for making this. Your amazing.
Congratulations on the 1st year broham. Please don't stop the magic
***** BOOMSKIES.
Actually, I'm pretty surprised that there were actually Bomberman games that weren't like the original games. Thanks for making this video, I'm going to have play these gems now!
Your videos are great, always looking out for them.
OMG I LOVED THIS GAME AS A KID! I used to rent it so many times from the local Hollywood Video (back when that was a thing) aahhhh SOOO NOSTALGIC :'D
love the music too.
blaster master was awesome....even just got a new updated release
Always good to find a fellow Bomberman fan :)
Played this game to death when I was a kid
I stumbled upon you, watching your videos on ActRaiser, and Mystical Ninja (two of my favorites, and too few even mentions those games). And then I kept watching... and... now I noticed that all your videos (except that Genesis one) have around 5000 views... what? Why so few? You're doing a great job, and your videos are some high quality stuff! Keep it up! :D
Awesome watch. Can finally see why people praise Bomberman 64 so highly now. Well done on making it past your first year.
I remember this game. I never got very far in the main game, but the multiplayer was fun with my brother.
Very well analyzed and funny, you have earned a subscriber!
bomberman 64 was the first I ever played and I was always a little bummed that there weren't more bomberman rpgs to play.
Love this game.
I did it too, picking up the last boss.
Soooo..... if I said the only "Bomberman" game I've played is Pocket Bomberman.....
***** Sooooo.... if I said I thought the game was shit......
Playing this game with 4 people multiplayer was an insane blast (pun intended) brings memories of playing Smash or Mario Party
dude great video!
HELL YEAH! I love Blue Resort!
I used to play a pirated Bomberman game for the PS1 has a kid. And it was the best shit ever.
lmao the music part was just self explanatory. Blue resort was the best one in my opinion
I never realised you could stop the bomb by pressing R after you kick it when I first played this game. Made it so difficult to beat.
Rest in peace dear Hudson soft.
My mom played the heck out of this game and got all the gold cards in the regular stages to unlock the final area. She never quite got all the gold cards in the Rainbow Palace.
Bomberman Hero was as hidden as gems get.
Friend got given a copy, we both expected it to be a garbage cash-in on the 3D platformer craze but instead it was actually pretty good.
I like it how the music didn't play for number 3
I love bomberman! And i've played bomberman hero and 64 when i was a kid.
Good ep, also your beard is glorious
"dont be a casual, God!" i cracked up
Aw yeah, Bomberman 64, I rented this game for a week from blockbuster, and I remember it being one of those games I wanted to keep and pretend that the blockbuster sticker wasn't there.
Great video about a forgotten hero
still your best video, do more bomberman!
Bomberman is in my top 5 favorite franchises of all time, and is criminally underrated and under utilized by it's current owner *Konami...yay....*. I remember playing my first Bomberman on the Snes, and had a blast with my family. When Bomberman 64 came out, I lost count of how many hours me and my siblings dumped into that game.
It's a stupidly simple concept but is stupid amounts of fun...and I feel ruined friendships long before Mario Party.
I didnt know about the true ending/last world until 2 years ago lol. Bomberman 64 is a masterpiece
Mega Bomberman was good too but I appreciate anyone who loves Bomberman 64 as much as me.
Love to see the bomberman love! Me and my brothers all grew up with the N64 playing games like bomberman 64 and second attack. I still don't know which one i like better. I have fond memories of turning on Second Attack, just so we could listen to the music while playing boardgames. #bombermanisbestmp3
SUPER BOMBERMAN R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fun Dingles RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR U READY KIDZ
2nd attack was really good. It plays like the game reviewed (B64) and not like Hero. Very fun.
I luv the bomberman games, i've played all of them in bomberman 64 regulus is my fav boss he so mysterious...
Dude I fucking loved this game when I was a kid but same here I could never beat it, I remember the bosses being so hard
i had this and i love it, i rememeber the second world boss i couldnt get the max ranking for, i think i had just about all of them too
THEN YOU JUST TOLD ME WHY
I'm hoping for a video on bomberman jetters, cause both the game and the show are awesome
Dude your awesome, I remember loving this game as a kid! Also, is that a Joseph Joestar figure I see back there?
***** Awesome, he's my favorite too!
This game is great
My brothers and I would make fun of the Bomberman World sound effects. We would scream "Bomb", "Fire", and "Nooo" randomly around the house. Glove power up in that was was too OP.
Keep making vids ur awesome
Bomberman 64 is one of my favorite 64 games and probably up there on my list of all time faves. So good. I wasn't nearly as enamored with 64 2 though. I disliked that it went back to cross bombs and had no interest in the Pokemon ripoffs shoehorned in. I mean, it was good... but it was more of a one and done for me.
Anyway, great video. Keep it up!
Wow, i can see why i never finished this game. The bomb stacking and platforming is so important for getting all of the cards and i never realized that you could do it that way. I gotta replay this soon. Also second attack is really expensive, I've been wanting to get it too, I've only played it on emulator and its just not the same. Muh retro gaymen feel
Holy shit you're so awesome!
My first bomberman game was bomberman on a hudsonsoft Gameboy complination.
““Don’t be a casual! Gawwwdd! Lmaoooo
Bomberman Hero was my first bomberman title and first N64 game, after that I tried finding more bombermam games only to find I didn't like the original gameplay of, blowing up stuff on a grid. I just wanted the Hero gameplay
THAT HERO OST!
Since I never grew up on the N64, I never got to play 64, Hero or Second Attack besides a single Mutliplayer game with a friend. I think when it comes to the impact Generations was the game that really hooked me into the series. It was long, had cool puzzles, the charaboms despite being pokemon knock-offs were useful, and the multiplayer was charming. I never played Jetters but I heard it's not as good. Oh yeah, Act Zero is renowned for being the Worst Game of 2006, just to clarify that:
IT TOOK THE TITLE FROM SONIC 06
Nuff said.
Never mind, I was thinking of "Bomberman Hero".
I had that guide, did NOT cover the final world, very disappointing.
The game however? Very awesome. I never beat it as a kid (hard as hell for a 6 year old) but I have fond memories of playing multiplayer and beating a few of the levels. Hero is a great title as well.
Which bomberman had sick elemental bombs and a vergil esque character rival? I can't seem to find it. Ya know it had ice bombs, wind bombs, and even sick shadow bombs.
+Tony Gonzales I'm pretty sure you are thinking of Bomberman Generation for the Gamecube. Elemental bombs, that cool rival hero named Max, such a great game.
9:09
bro, $62 for second attack was a STEAL!!! That game is worth $300 nowadays!
My brother once told me to buy a Bomberman game because "it is the best multiplayer experience of all time" so I spent $30 buying that shit and then we played it and it wasn't that great and he never repaid me for the money I spent and I don't think he ever will.
You should kill him. Killing makes the pain go away ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I love bomberman
This game's multiplayer is the reason I lost all my friends in 6th grade.
Also, 5:43: Spoilers
Bomberman 64 was one of my favorite games as a kid. I could never beat the campaign as a kid but I still had fun anyways. And the multiplayer was so awesome! The stages were really unique and fun. But Gamespot somehow gave it a 4.6/10
Gamespot is garbage
I've played... no, I've BEATEN Bomberman on NES. And yeah, the ending was weird to say the least. Oddly enough I owned Lode Runner too. No, that didn't have an ending where the Runner becomes Bomberman. Though I would love that kind of mindfuck. :D
Nice Unicorn gunpla. How long it take?
1:11
I cannot remember that ship stage. Was it unlockable?
BOKU NO BOOM
Too many good memories from the multiplayer. Does anyone own the rights to Bomberman now that Hudson is shut down? I wouldn't think an IP like that would go unwanted. Also side note do you remember the commercial for this game? I remember it being a parody song from the old Spider Man cartoon. I never watch the cartoon as a kid so when ever i hear it these days I always think of this game.
he should be in smash bros then.
If you could add 3 characters in smash bros who would you add? Try to make it realistic.
7:05 - 11 minutes!?
More like Somberman 64. Because, you know... Hudson...
Dang man.
Beb keep making for more year.
