During this song, the dancer expresses the desire to take blessings from devi’s golden feet and be granted salvation after surrendering to her. The singer calls upon the goddess to shower them with Her grace and support, and to accept and protect them like Her own children. The beauty of this piece’s raagam (carnatic scale) is in it’s name itself. “Ragamalika” literally translates to “a garland of Ragas,” where the Raagam of the song changes for each stanza: Anandha Bhairavi, Kalyani, Bageshwari, and Ranjani.
