Brother i tried finding out about the 2.5 and it does not have one because the emissions are below the government regulations. So unfortunately you wil have go to a exhaust shop and buy a resonator or have it fitted.
Hi there Craig. Well, it can be a whole lot of reasons why the vehicle wont start, most common reason is a deteriorated or wrong battery installed in your vehicle. Both will seem fine when you test them, but wont have enough CCA Cold Cranking Amps to start the vehicle. Bad Glow plugs will cause your vehicle to have very bad feul economy and will idle really rough, sometimes even smoke. But yes it could cause it not to start, but you will have a bunch of other issues before you get there though. Without some more info its hard to try and narrow down the cause. There are a bunch of other reasons why your van wont start buddy.
If you do not have the right rated battery with the right CCAs your van will struggle to start and the colder the tempratures the worse it gets. You can potentially hurt the starter as well. But before you buy another battery just see if you can find someone with a similar van and ask to switch batteries and see if it changes anything.
If it does you have engine problems Rodney. The exhaust does not prevent smoke, it just quites the noise from the engine. If your car did not smoke before you take the exhaust off, then it wont smoke after.
Thanks sir,got a 2012 Fortuner 2010 Hilux ...also a 2007 Fortuner which had no cat and it sounds awesome...so I thinking of decating the 2012/2010 ones ...
Sure, there wont be a massive diffrence in the sound. The turbo may sound a bit more prominent but thats about it. If you take the box out, that is when these vehicles sound amazing. There is no other vehicle that sounds the same.
I bought some 3" stainless steel pipes from a guy who had scraps lying around from a milk tank installation. I fashioned an exhaust for my old Gen 1 Pajero with the 2.5 Diesel that went out the side under the driver's side passenger door. Even though it was an auto it managed to even give me a little turbo flutter but the drone, which you call a tin can sound, got old in about 3 days. So I went down to my local Quick Fit and they made me a 3" free flow box which they fitted for me after I re-routed the exhaust to the back where it was originally. The drone was gone and the sound was sweet.
Hey Warren. Thanx for the comment. Yes when i heard that droneing i knew i would not love it and i wasnt keen on wearing ear plugs or headphones when driving the van. So a plan needed to be made. If you have insta, look me up and send a clip of how your van sounds now. Im really intrested to hear what it sounds like.
Keep it up bro
Thank you so much brother. Will do my best. Keep safe.
@@4x4ViewFinder alright brother, cheers mate
Our 2012 fortuner doesn't have resonator...can i do the same?
Hi brother. Yes you can. In part 2 i show you how to use your catalytic converters box to make yourself one.
@@4x4ViewFinder i did muffler delete but the sound still the same..huhu
Yes, but you can make a resonator yourself to make it sound alot more refined. Watch part 2 of the video. You wil hear what a huge diffrence it makes.

@4x4ViewFinder hi I found out 2 day that the starter is not that good and that 2x injectors are faulty
Im glad you could determine the issues. At least now you have a game plan on what to do. Many happy miles.
Will it smoke as you gas it
