I would like more of your private discussions Mike. Very informative and nice to listen to 👍

I had a set of wheels built for my MTB with sapim alloy double square secure lock nipples. I'm not concerned about corrosion as I live in sunny California. I would most likely switch to brass if I moved near the coast.

...same here. I haven't had any issues, but if I lived somewhere with salty, humid air, I'd probably switch to brass.

I recently bought a 2010 Specialized FSRxc Expert and found there was a broken spoke. But it wasn't broken, according to my mechanic the cause was Galvanic Corrosion, right where the nipple and spoke meets due to the Alloy spoke and red Anodised nipple. It was replaced with a Brass nipple.
The DT Swiss wheels look good with them, but no idea why they didn't use Brass instead of Anodised Aluminium.

Interesting, Ricky. I think Brass makes a lot of sense for almost all applications because the weight penalty is so small.
