I think it pretty much is impossible to beat a scene where a dude is riding a dirt bike with a chick on the back while swinging a samurai sword the whole time hacking up demons to a thumping soundtrack.

The dramatic close up of the cake as the pregnant woman was tasting it made me think it was important to the plot somehow, as if something was going to happen as a result, but it didn't. I can honestly say that this is the first time I've ever been faked out by a cake. A "cake out" if you will.

Sort of. In the original script, Hannah was supposed to give birth to a demon baby that would kill her, but right before they shot that scene Bava and Argento changed their mind and decided they wanted to give the film a more upbeat ending, so they changed that ending and then used the demon baby prop earlier in the movie, but they still left in a bunch of foreshadowing for that original ending.

That scene in the parking garage actually freaked me out when I first watched it. Seeing those people fight so hard to live and all die, that little girl surrounded by monsters while crying for her father, etc... it was so visceral and heartbreaking. Was also a very terrifying situation, the demons are frightening to me. They didn't get a ton of screen time but I was rooting for those people. So that one scene pretty much made the "happy" ending pointless to me, two people surviving out of dozens isn't a happy ending...

I went to several parties in the 80's and not a single one of them had a single person breaking out in dance. It's like the people who wrote all the movies in the 80's, that required a party scene in them, had never experienced a party in their lives and just kind of... imagined that a house full of dancers was what the kids' parties were like, because kids were into MTV, maybe?

Demons 1 & 2 are a handful of movies where the first and sequel are queasy great. I can’t choose one from the other. The music in both are PERFECT. The gore, the storylines, the production, the directing, the acting, the camerawork, the cast, EVERYTHING is perfect. The theme song from 2 is better though :)
