This movie's greatest crime: Wasting a perfectly good tim curry. Only a complete amateur has tim curry in their movie and not allow him to go full tim curry.
In the 1932 movie "WHITE ZOMBIE", the expert on such things explains that in Jamaica, burying someone alive for the purpose of turning them into a zombie is legally considered "murder", even if they do come back from the dead. (or something like that)
16:39 Scientifically you can put someone into a trancelike state using pufferfish venom (an active ingredient in the alleged "zombie formula"), so yes I would have to imagine there would be laws regarding it, especially in the one place where that practice originates from.
You need to do a video on "Night Breed" by Clive Barker of "Hellraiser" fame . Its got great practical effects ,creature design and makeup effects . Its a totally under rated 80's horror movie with a good story .
@@razycrandomgirl It was meant to be kid friendly horror. It also came out in the 90s. Im too lazy to look it up honestly. It was based on a popular kid/teen horror story called Cabal. A decent amount of people liked it since it wasnt as brutal as a book like Mr. Begone, Weaveworld, and Hellbound Heart. It was meant to be more mainstream. I personally could not get into the books or movie.
I enjoyed the novella it was based on "Cabal", but the movie was kinda cheesy. It is worth watching for the monster designs though, and also a supporting acting role for David Cronenberg, the famous body horror director.
In retrospect: Demon Knight is an awesome horror-comedy. Bordello of Blood is pretty trashy but kinda fun, thanks to Dennis Miller and all the tits. Ritual is just meh. Not even Jennifer Gray in that white tanktop (pokies galore!) can save this snoozefest of a movie. It´s not scary,it´s not funny it´s not even entertaining in a trashy kind of way, like Bordello of Blood.Oh and they had Tim Curry in the movie and completely wasted him,WTF?!
"i walked with a zombie" is one of a few Val Lewton RKO classics, along with "Cat People" and the "The Seventh Victim." "Isle of the dead" and "The Leopard Man" are also very good.
You know, until around 17:30, when Brandon was talking about how this wasn't very scary, I realised that I'd legitimately forgotten that this *was* a horror film. I thought that it was a mystery movie. Which might have been better, to be honest.
She said the surgeon was in there doing what she bought and in the spur of the moment decided to make a few more tweaks/ last minute adjustments on impulse. They made her unrecognizable as herself but technically more perfect.

Sean Ashmead. Well said. Fuckers. Clive Barker is a genius. Amazing painter, artist, author and filmmaker. The Yattering and Jack is my favorite Barker story. Among many.
I've seen 'I Walked with a Zombie.' It's actually pretty good for a pre-'Night of the Living Dead' zombie movie. This feels like that movie got its own version of the nineties remake of 'The Haunting.'
16:20 - "Here's Jennifer Grey in a tank top again." ... Apparently an unusually chilly day in Jamaica (well, either that or she just stepped out of a walk-in cooler).
I've seen this movie! I didn't even remember but as soon as Tim Curry and Jennifer Grey and all those strange trippy visions all came on screen it all came back to me. I forgot it for a reason.
There was a third one? I remember the first one being released to theaters, don't remember if the second one was but I never even heard of this one. And funbags Brandon? He mentioned real estate. That was a perfect set up for a Monty Python reference for Huuuuuge..... tracts of land!
Sean Ashmead True, but you can't consider it complete untill those two are reviewed. Forcently they are both simply a bunch if short stories, and both films could be reviewed together.
There is actually at least 1 more to that series as well, The House that Dripped Blood... they were all part of the Amicus Portmanteau films. Good stuff with bits of Peter Cushing and sometimes Christopher Lee sprinkled throughout.
SonOfPlatypus Well, THTDB is unofficial (or else it would of been called The Haunt of Fear, after the third EC horror comic). I don't think any of the stories in THTDB were adaptations of EC comic stories.
Those didn't have anything to do with the HBO series, however. They're very different and they don't have much of the EC-style black humor that the series did very well. Really, "Creepshow" did much better at capturing the EC-style than the 70s adaptations did.
Kyros Droztamyr fun fact: traditional necromancy isnt actually the control of the dead like its portrayed in modern media, its the ability to converse with the dead, necrokinesis would be the correct term for controlling armies of zombies. . . In an unrelated note, the word paedophile basically means child lover, which is a bit to endearing, paedoghast is the correct term, meaning child rapist
Hey brother new subscriber. You're videos are fuckin hilarious bro. I remember some buddies of mine had a old cable access channel in Austin, Tx that reviewed lame movies back in the early 2000's. Your humor reminds me of it. Keep up the good work 👍
i LOVE demon knight. It's funny, creepy at times, and endlessly quotable. I love Tales from the Crypt to death, last year I watched every single episode ( even the crummy last season ) in a row. It was fantastic.
After watching this movie, my fave is still Demon Knight. Is it bad that when I watch this movie about 8 years ago I fell asleep during it. I love your reviews.
So, right now, I got Demon Knight and next, Bordello Of Blood and Ritual on DVD which I already bought is on the way. You can't find those 3 in stores nowadays like it once was.
I had no freakin' clue there was a remake of the brilliant "I Walked With A Zombie"! After seeing this, I know why. Val Lewton must be shitting in his grave.
I was going to say that ending is rushed nonsense, then you show that last clip. Wow. That's actual horror. I think when current generations talk about certain kinds of "cultures" they're all unanimously remembering seeing that scene before even hitting the age of ten. If more people just pointed to stuff like that, their arguments would make themselves.
But I got to understand one thing: Caro could have being saved with the antitode after turning into a zombie just like Julian has been saved? She's dead or just paralized? Didn't watch the all movie.
Holy shit, I remember seeing this when I was a kid. Saw one of the Cryptkeeper scene, was completely confused by it (I never saw Tales from the Crypt before), and turned it off. The scene kinda stayed in my mind though. Weird.

Hearing Brandon say "bumbuhclaat" had to be the best thing I've seen today.
"Holy shit, Arts and Crafts!" Seriously, that line killed me!
"I loved you in Red Dawn, mon!"
I damn near choked on my cereal on that line.
Don't worry, Brandon. Flagging videos for rights is so last year. Now it's flagging for content and demonetization.
the google bots just gives all videos yellow coins now.
How ironic
Thankfully these days false flagging is all the rage.
As a Jamaican I almost died at 3:25. Well done 😂
It looks like it is set in the Blue Mountains, not Cockpit Country or anyplace like that.
For real
It's nice to see you referenced " The serpent and the rainbow". I think it's brililant and one of the most underrated horror movies ever made.
"brilliant"
I love that movie! One of Wes Craven's best non Nighmare on Elm Street influenced movies.
It's my favorite Craven film.
This movie's greatest crime: Wasting a perfectly good tim curry. Only a complete amateur has tim curry in their movie and not allow him to go full tim curry.
Yeah, give Ferngully some credit, at least they let him channel his Sweet Transvestite mode!
Agreed! I've never seen this movie but anytime you have Tim Curry in your cast let him be Tim Curry!!!! :=)
Yeah, GAY.... boo
Here's another crime for Ritual: Wasting the appearance of the Crypt Keeper.
He looked horrible!

Jennifer became unrecognizable after surgery. Hotter pre-op imo
Damn straight
Yes, she was very cute. She lost all of her charisma post op.
The nose gives her character, but I that the character is totally gone.
Yeah. The nose gave her character or something. It was cute.

i feel the same way about the Star Wars sequel trilogy
You consider The Force Awakens “starting out with promise?”
Is that Boone from Nightbreed?!
This is the most rasta thing since William Murderface's brief fling with making a reggae guitar album.
"IRE.. YA MON.."
(angrily smashes guitar)
Now you can do the almost tales from the crypt movies like Death Becomes Her and the Frighteners
That's Jennifer Grey? I could hardly recognize her. Why change your face like that when you have such a unique look?
JQXJQ She was also much prettier with her old nose. But that’s just me.

@jamstonjulian6947 Just look at Pete Burns of Dead or Alive. A lot of people would have killed to look like him pre-op
I love when use Puns you're charming when you do it , not that Jamaican halloween knockoff puppet
I thought it was the Keeper's impression of Whoopi Goldberg at first
12:18: man, R-Truth is PISSED!
Craig Scheffer was good in Nightbreed. You should do the directors cut of that. Great movie. Awesome creatures.
Makes up for the hate crime version. I call it that because it was censored due to Clive Barker being gay.
Sean Ashmead. Well said. Fuckers. Clive Barker is a genius. Amazing painter, artist, author and filmmaker. The Yattering and Jack is my favorite Barker story. Among many.

let's be honest, very few things are not better with cocaine.
So just found your channel and watched those 2 reviews the other day and was wondering where this review was lol. Keep up the great work.

Bordello of blood was in theater's as well.
They dragged poor Tim Curry into this? Oof
He and Jennifer Grey are good actors. Definitely deserved better than this.
Holy carp another video up from this channel awesome
So... this movie ranks right up there with the last season of Tales From The Crypt.
That season sucked. The last episode was a cartoon that was less gory than Itchy and Scratchy!
It just showed they were running out of stories at that point.
Plus, they moved production to England as well.
How about the crappy one where the girl is trying to write an episode for the show? I couldn't stand it.
The animated one is also.. tonally deaf, lol.
To be fair, that cartoon episode was the best part about the last season.
There's a 1972 Tales from the Crypt movie, is an adaptation of some of the comics stories but i think it would be worth that you ever see it.
Omg! Yes! Been binge watching your channel! Love your channels SO much☆ Thx you 💘💘💘💘💘💘

Forgive me if I'm wrong (I don't believe I am), but the song the band played in the beginning - didn't the lyrics basically reveal the plot?
