My friend was in Qatar recently and asked locals what news channels they can watch here, expecting some form of censorship, and he was told by multiple people they don't ban any media. You can watch RT news (Russian state news), Chinese state news, American, German, African and etc. There belief is, we need to be able to see all news so we know how people think when we meet with them, it will build better relationships if we know where they're coming from.
