Just wanted to say that I used to have arachnophobia, but made a conscious effort to desensitize myself to spiders a couple of years ago. That’s when I started watching you. The other day, a little black and white jumping spider crawled onto me. I let it crawl on my hand and then put it on the ground. The little spider came right back. I did this about two more times before letting him sit on me for quite a while! I was wearing a black and white bathing suit so he must have felt safe and camouflaged. He crawled up to my shoulder and sat on my strap. He’d look at me, look around, then clean himself. It was adorable. Thank you for your role in this major progress!!

I had the tiniest wild jumping spider crawling all over m today. I had nothing important so sitting with a tiny spider was the perfect use of my time, I wanted to keep her, but it was so tiny, I decided freedom was best. Having a tiny jumping spider patrol my vegetable garden was a much better idea.

The male has to be Beetlejuice. Black and white with green means one thing! The female reminds me of a caramel latte, but with her black floral decor she could be Lidia. 😊

I have a mature female elegans named Giza (named after the great pyramids because the pyramid on her carapace reminds me of a pyramid in the sunset.) and about a month ago I got myself another teeny tiny sling that I named Trinket. I'm REALLY hoping for a male because C. elegans are a species I am extremely eager to breed. I'm probably going to snag up a few more elegans slings around Xmas to ensure a pair.
I'm so lucky that my mature female elegans doesn't burrow down deep unless she is in premolt. She made elaborate web tunnels above ground and hangs out on top of them much of the time. She is a fierce huntress too, taking down prey almost as big as herself.
Also, for anyone living in Canada, I found some awesome clear plastic (acrylic I think, they say "shatterproof.") coffin containers about the same size at Dollarama for $2.50 each. You just have to put in ventilation holes. I picked up a few for slings. They're great!

Just discovering u kat, and your channel completely changed my whole perspective of spiders i used to be quiet scared! And guess wat, i now own 3 phidippus audax adults, 1 phidippus regius, and have been caring for to babies my wikd caught momma had i feel that they have such better chances to live w me as i havent had any die at all, 67 total slings all i3 and i4 rn :) some habronattus slings and mommas second egg sac just hatched! I've got a p.regius and a c.elegans! My jumping spider is called Ambrose, she's just done her first molt with me recently and she's absolutely gorgeous 🥰 my c.elegans is called Clementine, still just a teenie tiny spiderling. Super excited to see the pattern coming thru as he/she grows

I haven’t figured out what tarantulas I wanna put in your enclosures once they arrive. I have a couple of larger slings/juveniles that would do pretty well in that setup it’s just a matter of which ones I want to put in there XD. I’m thinking my peach earth tiger for one. It’s outgrowing it’s current box and could use a bit more upward space to web. Maybe my curly hair for the other. I got it at the same time as my peach earth tiger so they’re about the same size rn though the curly hair is slightly larger.

I have been searching my area for jumping spiders and FINALLY found and caught one. It was doing sooo well, he ate and was webbing up his little enclosure. He was still very tiny though and managed to escape and was so quick he is now a house spider 😢

How cute. I have a colony of 5 old world, COREMIOCNEMIS SP Pygmy Dwarf,Australian tarantulas. These guys have no issues living together they're from the hot rainforests in tropical Queensland Australian.I do love the enclosures, but they're way overpriced and not practical for larger collections.
