I am excited to announce my brand-new online web-series, Uncle George Hawaii. This series has been a long time in the making and culminated in a lifetime of experiences, stories, and traditions. Uncle George Hawaii focuses on my Hawaiian farming and cooking methods. I show how native plants are utilized in traditional and modern times. The show will include farming/ gardening techniques, cooking demonstrations, Hawaiian traditions, Storytelling, and Hawaiian mele.
In Episode One we explore the Taro Root or Kalo.

Wanting to get some of that Zuiki. Is it this variety Colocasia esculenta antiquorum? And can you eat all parts raw? Like leaves and tubers?

It's like we were right there! I love the lessons on where the words come from. Also, what is the name of the stone you use to pound the taro? Are you also going to show how to cook breadfruit in one of the episodes?
