When they pushed me too far, I went into my bedroom , locked the door and turned on Freebird full blast! And they KNEW to leave me alone! Not many groups of today's music come close to old rock and roll from the sixties through the eighties. Today's music either has good music and bad lyrics or great lyrics and bad music. Few achieve both. Most cannot put an album together that is good all the way through. Keep listening to the old stuff you won't be disappointed. There were two versions of this song. A shorter 'air play' version and the "long" version. Radio DJ's used to put on the "long" version of this song if they had to do things like use the restroom or let the pizza guy in the side door. I was the pizza guy, that's how I know. We used to make the "DJ pie" right before closing, then count out and head over to the station after hours. If we were still on the way to the station and heard Freebird come on, we knew we were running behind.

As for THIS react, you don’t know what you don’t know.
Whether you do another react to it,
watch Free Bird in Oakland and the live version from Knebworth.
It’s debated as to which of these is
      THE GOAT
Greatest rock performance of all time.
Anything else you do of Skynyrd use the live version Fox Theater Atlanta
The album was called “One More FROM The Road “.

@@Bamaboompa the difference between the two performances is that one group knew the song and the other one didn’t, much like this reaction.

Lynard synard was a man that the group all knew. At the time they figured why not name their band after this guy. If I remember correctly. He was a gym coach that said they wouldn’t amount to much. The band actually lost some of their band in the 70’s due to a plant crash. This song while I was growing up I wanted to play at my funeral. The band was a band that was southern rock. They came from the south. Totally a great band! I love that you’re stepping out of your comfort genre! I have listened to a lot of bands over my years. Even rap! I loved Tupac and the old rappers!! Enjoy!!

Yes! My Man. Stepping out of our comfort zone brings a world of Magic that is life itself. As for Freebird you nailed it! He's telling his girl that he must be on his way to keep the life force going. The second half of this song, is Them Soaring like the Free bird that they are. They are musicians and therefore always soaring between concerts and making New music. That is the life of many a musician. Music suggestion, as much as You and all of Us who love Free Bird's story & jammin follow this line of thought with Bob Seger's "Turn the Page". Like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Seger is a down home rock & roll singer songwriter, but no country style here, as his sound is Slick! He's a Storyteller!!!

Music doesn't care what colour people are. That's what's so great about it. This reaction is priceless. The world needs more music and less politics. "Playin' that guitar like it owes him money" Subbed mate. Absolutely beautiful 😂.
