    🚗📢💡 RESOURCES 💡📢🚗
    Usetool's warnings
    - Once the operation is completed, you'll need pump slowly on the brake pedal a few times until feeling a strong resistance from the pedal. The aim being to bring the brake pads closer to one other.
    - Drive smoothly and avoid sudden braking for the first 50 kilometres or so to avoid glazing the new pads.
    - Make sure to check the stability of your vehicle before starting the operation.
    - Don't burn yourself on the pads if you've just gone for a drive as braking creates friction and long-lasting heat.
    Usetool's infos
    - When replacing brake rotors, you also need to replace the brake pads. This is a mandatory procedure.
    - What do we mean by "glazing new brake pads"?
    - Break pads are made of a material that needs to be run-in when new. If this procedure is not done properly, when braking too hard, the material overheats and hardens. Consequently, the brakes become less effective.

    Every single fastener had been loosened previously and both the wheel and the disc (rotor) had been freed off prior to filming, this is a fantasy version of the job. Completely different to a real world situation. Impractical for real people to use as info.

    Just did this on my 2014 golf 7 1,4 tsi, can say that all the tools matched but space was vastly different, hade to use an allenkey for slider bolts which took ages and to get the caliper mount off there was simply no way of going with an extension.
    all in all took me about 3 hrs and was a learning experience, i did replace one caliper so my install was a bit different, bled the brakes but didnt do a 100% job, gonna try again tomorrow.

    Is there a reason your video doesn´t contain any torque values of any type of seen screws. Imho this is a real safety issue. Really not cool !

    You say to use a large extension to remove the carrier bolts, then show a clip of them not using a large extension

    Càn I just leave the hand brake off? I dont have a conputer to connect.

    • @HGVCraig
      @HGVCraig Před 8 měsíci +1

      Nope. You can do it with a power probe though. You can’t just release the handbrake because the motor will be out

      Hi @Alan Cooney. Thanks. For the music, we had to come up with something. It’s hard to please everybody. We hope it didn’t stop you from performing the operation.
