You gotta do more tutorials, that’s my only feedback. You’ve made a lot of peoples lives better by providing quality content to new artists, continuing artists, and whoever else that wanted a transition into Blender. Thank you for what you do, it’s not easy putting together such content as this, and we all appreciate what you do.
Thank you for this feedback ! It's a lot of work yes, i try to do this between some commissions and personal projects ! i hope to have more time for fun and personal stuff in the future :D
@@dedouze always waiting for these great tutorials thankyou
@@dedouze love from india..and we also want to animate icecream song video scene in 2d grease pencil as same as original scene video....step by step tutorial would be appreciated a lot...regards.

12:40 Dedouze, ever since I was a child, my only goal has been to turn a horse into a plane. You have crushed my world
It was actually quite a cool effect as well
Hjonk hjonk, goose's dreams crushed!
"Of course we are in blender - for one problem there are ten solutions" hahahaha made my day!
LOL SAME AHHAHAHAH
The end song with the credits was AWESOME!
Part 1: 118K views Part 2: 18K
If you made it this far you're already so far ahead of the curve :D
I was thinking exactly the same thing! Way to go to whoever is reading this!! Don't give up! You can do it!
ahead of KURWA
Very important : to see the Onion skins, the viewport shading mode must not be in render preview (the little spheres on top right of the viewport)
you should pin this comment its not visible unless you scroll down a bit
@App User you better remember to turn it off before you render tho
I started rendering mine and left and when I came back I realized that I was seeing double
Sorry i don't understand, I am using the blender for the first time and am confused about what to do, I have done as you said but the shadow still doesn't appear, what should I do? Please help me😭
@@annisaputriamalia6763 look the top right of the viewport, check the viewport shading
@@user-vi2yh2lm8q ah i see.. thank u so much 🥺🥺💗💗
1) Update if you're using blender 2.83 or higher, in the layers panel you'll need to uncheck "use lights" at the bottom of the layers list, for each layer, just under the blend mode and opacity.
2) On blender 4.1 and newer, the key to insert keyframe is K instead of I
3) if you finished this tutorial, please check my update about my new process and important updates since this tutorial was released in this video : czcams.com/video/saIFT8_j0LQ/video.html
I was just having this issue, merci mec
I found this out by mistake but before that I thought I was broken
Man it saved me... I almost aborted this tutorial ...gonna start it again!
you are a fabulous teacher, thank you for making this tutorial!
I know I'm replying to an old post, but thank you so much for making a note of this. So many tutorials I've been doing are from 2.8 and don't bother annotating any changes to 2.9. Thanks for putting in such great effort!
Finally a tutorial that shows me how to turn a horse into a plane! I’ve been searching CZcams for the last 5 years to find this!
I watched both of the tutorials. I learened more with this two videos than I've learned in the past year reading books and watching shorter tutorials. Very well explained and you went to the parts that made more sence in the creative process. well done. Please keep these tutorials coming.
best GP series yet. going to rewatch. thanks for sharing.
Jeff G thank you!! Wish you good luck for your next blender projects!!
This video fully converted me to Blender.
As a long time Flash/Animate/Adobe Illustrator artist having worked in the past as a motion graphics designer, I've wanted to get more into character animation as a hobby. So I'd been playing with Clip Studio paint for a more traditional look and feel. But I felt like I wasn't tapping into my skills in full. I really wanted to push the limit.
Using Blender alongside your tutorial with my tablet, I'm still shocked at how robust this software is for it to be free. I kept having to pause the video because so much I'd wanted to see in a software was there. It was like Christmas. You cannot fathom my excitement.
Thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous art and amazing knowledge with us! You've changed my life. Please expect my support in the future.
sorry can you help me a little please 😶😅
my problem is that when I move the timebar and sculpt the face it won't add a new keyframe and adding it manually doesn't work for some reason it makes the lines and colors in that layer green and deletes them when I move the timebar again
do you know how l can fix it I'm stuck🙂💔
Same here.
Your tutorials are really helpful. Especially when you explain the background info of settings/buttons, for example "Z feature button is visible because we are in Y mode". I can't think of another specific example, but the way you teach is perfect for how I learn.
For the part in 1200 r. Semi automatic interpolation, the interpolate option is now locate on the panel on the left with the draw and eraser tool. Click on it. Make sure your desired layers are active. Then click on viewport and stretch accordingly
Finally I have a juice to drink with my donut. Thanks!
this is gold
Thanks a ton man. Really. There isn't much grease pencil tutorial on the web, and I've been trying to learn it from ages. Please do more tutorial.
What a time to be alive, mental illness left me at the bottom, stuff like this give me hope..
Your bonus trick and then the animation running made my morning man! it brought up a huge smile, thank you so much Dedouze!
Fantastic tutorial, M. Dedouze! You have a great manner and presentation style, and sprinkled in some super helpful and not so obvious tips along the way. When time permits, more, please! And love your design style by the way - beautiful.
This is the push I need to finally get and learn blender with grease pencil! Thank you so much!
You are a very good teacher. Progressively teaching the tools, one step at a time using a real world example. Very well done.
I have searched far and wide for good grease pencil tutorials online and this is by far the best one I have found. You've covered everything I wanted to know and I didn't even have to watch any of it again. Very well explained. Thank you so much.
I found you and your tutorial on TikTok, and it is one of the most well-made tutorials I've ever had the pleasure to complete. Thank you so much for taking the time to make it!
This series is the single best Grease Pencil tutorial I was able to find on youtube!! Thank you so much!! And also for giving away all of that for free!! :D
Brother you are the best. Hands on the best tutorial about Grease Pencil on the internet and basically you may be one of the best NPR blender artists in the world right now!
im a complete beginner at blender and by far your tutorial has summed up precisely all the basic contents abt 2D animation and 3D camera movements that I need to know in blender! I absorbed this vid better than any other long tutorials ive watched, thank you so much for your easy-to-follow guide and effort!! :Dc
OMG I DID IT!!!! it's not perfect, but it's still awesome thanks to you!!!
I have one year of experience on blender but I've never touched the 2D section. This two tutorials are utterly stunning! Thanks Dedouze!
This is one of the best quality tut about 3D software I know. Clear and compressed knowledge. Congrats.
Thank you so much for these tutorials. I learned way more from your two videos in a few short hours, than I did from all the previous grease pencil tutorials I've watched.
There are lots of tutorials out there that I have watched but never really finished and understood anything.
But this video is an exception, I am learning as I'm watching, that I don't even noticed I have finished an hour long tutorial. The way you present and do each steps is very detailed, you're a great teacher and artist! Thank you!
so for whatever reason whenever I would begin coloring as you did at 5:10, my colors would persist throughout the animation. Blank keyframes weren't automatically being created. I had to add blank keyframes and THEN color my lines in order to fix it but I think it means I screwed something up somewhere. Either that or something is turned off that should be on. lol
EDIT: Yep, auto-keyframing was turned off. I'm using v2.93 so there must be a difference between now and when this video was recorded. For anyone else, the little circle button at the bottom of the timeline, to the left of the play and pause button panel. Flick that on. haha
Yep that was it. Thank you so much for the comment. I'm a complete beginner and this really helped!
thanks! you're a lifesaver
My hero of the day! Thanks a lot. I already had this issue two minutes into the video. 'Why doesn't it automatically make a new keyframe??' Maybe I turned the Auto Keying off at the start, not sure. But this fixed the issue.
this literally saved me i was already all out on google and couldnt figure it out..... THANKS
Thank you for this comment! In my case when I started putting keys on the face, it disappeared! But by clicking the little circle button at the bottom worked! Kudos!
ok but the drop from 1mil to 170k viewers says a lot...not about the quality of the content but about the tendency of people to see something through. i'm glad i watched these through. thankyou dedouze!! you're one of my fave content creators :)
oh your animation tutorial is a blessing! your voice is so gentle, thank you
This was a great one. I love how it's good for Beginners and people who have been using Blender for a long time.
Grandissimo!!!! Everything I was looking for in this period, in one beautiful tutorial. Bravooooo!
I needed to understand how to use the grease Pencil properly and I thought instantly about you! So happy you've made these tutorials, I've understood everything! you've been clear and I actually liked listening to you!
So, great work! Hope to see more here in your channel!
Scaling the animation is something SO useful--I never knew you could do that! Thank you very much!
your tutorials are seriously the best ones out there! you should make some more they reaaaaaaalllly help. amazing
This was amazing!!!! Took me severa days but i had a wonderfull time following this tutorial. You gotta do more of these! Thank you!
if ever there was a candidate for a tutorial that's going to need more than one viewing, it's this one and the one before
almost scary, the amount of material you managed to pack into these 2.
many thanks for sharing your knowledge
superb job
I found you on instagram and have enjoyed all of your content. I showed it to a friend and he is now obsessed with your colors. You are creating some deeply charming and relatable things, which is never an easy thing to do. Wonderful.
Thank you so much for this tutorial series! So helpful and thorough and covered a lot of aspects, and your way of speaking and explaining is pleasant and easy to keep up with. A pure gem!
Thank you man, Part 1 and this video are both lifesavers, the best tutorials I can find
A very comprehensive tutorial. Really the only helpful one I could find on the grease pencil ! Thanks, and good job my guy!!!
Well done @Dedouze, Hope you keep providing more helpful tutorials like this, fyi, You have now given me a clearer way on how l should proceed with my own projects, and for that l am grateful. I have subscribed for more.
Yay! I did it! Now I have my own mouse drawn floating juice box render lmao. Thanks for the tutorial! It was my 2nd blender- and first grease pencil tutorial, you did a good job explaining things beginner friendly. I will definitively come back for more of your tutorials (and for the art of course, it is so beautiful) :) I'd love to see more advanced stuff from you
Let me start with a 'Thank You!'. Superb tutorial video. Tons of great content (thank goodness for the pause and rewind button! Otherwise I would miss something brilliant!).
I felt like I graduated from Greasepencil Academy with the song at the end! ❤ Thank you so much, Dedouze!
This tutorial is absolutely game-changing. I can finally use this insanely free and powerful program to make the kind of art I like! Merci beaucoup Dedouze!!

this was so fun to do! I've completed lots of blender tutorials and this one was so well put together, and your art style is really nice to look at, and the 80's colour theme! kept me entertained thanks so much great Video
Great ending for this tutorial. cute song and singing bird! Bellissimo
Art just Art! I love the edition, the details. Amazing. Can’t wait to do it.

WOW! Amazing video Dedouze! Best blender tutorial I've seen. I happened across your blend animation scene by chance followed the link to your profiles. 3D, Music production, and development - Good stuff (I'm feeling inspired to create some stuff) Keep going, and stay safe from those medicated drinks!
Thanks for the video!
THIS TAUGHT US SO MUCH!! THANK YOU!!! EVERYTHING WAS INCREDIBLY USEFUL FROM START TO FINISH!!!
My feedback is: Please, make more tutorials! Out of a thousand people who might understand Blender, I believe less than a handful have the gift of explanation to help the millions of people who also want to get better at Blender. You are definitely one of those gifted elites. Please!
This tutorial is exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks, man! Would very appreciate more in depth videos on greasepencil animation!
Thank you Dedouze, this was just a really good tutorial. I had many questions, but you answered all of them. Very detailed, good pace, excellent for beginners. I wanted to do a rotoscoping of a video using Grease pencil for my music video, and this tutorial was an excellent starting point. I will for an advanced tutorial for sure!

The only video tutorial i watch until the end credit. Beautifull animation, would love to try it soon. thanks for the tutorial
This is the best tutorial!! Please do more!!
Oh God I started laughing when you did the horse to plane transition. I love this. Thank you.
Incroyable ! Le meilleur tuto de Blender que j'ai pu trouver pour l'animation 2D ! (j'inclus aussi la partie 1 bien sûr) Merci pour tous tes petits tricks qui me sauvent ! S'il te plait continue !
Proportional editing! Thanks for this tip.
thank you very much! I found the tutorial really clear, and i learned a loot of stuff. It would be great to have more of these.
Probably the best grease tutorial, big thanks!
merci! thank you! this series was a great way to clear away the dust of confusion. I appreciate that you take steps, and show alternatives, why and why nots, as well as how. Two or three times already I said 'I'm going to try it out, the GP', only to say, this has so many options where do I start, what should I do? and then, as a 3d animator, I just say never mind, forget it. Now you have motivated me to go once more into the breach!
this tutorial will help me sooo much with creating the 2d animation i have in mind. thank you so much
This has been super helpful for someone that has little to no experience with this, thank you so much!! :D
🍭 Y E S ! this is dope, thank you so much for sharing ♡
no problem ! Thank you !
Thank you very much for this. So many interesting elements in just one tutorial. Thank you!
This was sooooo helpful, I can't wait to get started in blender
Wow thank you for video!! I will try tmr morning haha 💗 very helpful!!! 💗
Your the best man you're gonna help me create a new world
This was an amazing tutorial! thank you so much. Exactly what i needed
Amazing tutorial!! I went from not knowing much at all about blender to being able to create a full comp!
Just another note that I had to do some research into, if your keyframes aren't automatically being created when you draw at a new point in the timeline, you need to turn on automatic keyframing! there should be a little "record" button in the standard timeline, this is the one you're after. this confused me at first but was an easy fix.
thankyou so much for this amazing, well explained information :D
crazy man, crazy animations, crazy cool
Its beautiful and magic, thanksss!
Thanks to your video, I was able to make it! I am very happy☺️
this was such a helpful and detailed tutorial, learned so much thank you !!
The birds are just 2 cute 2 be true, awesome tutorial Dedouze! Thank you!
