    Quicker process for this by the way. Pressing X to mark all the save files that you want and then pressing copy and then mcPaste should paste all of the files over that you want to your USB drive.

    I already had our saves backed up from ages ago when I had FreeMcboot but I hadn't tried loading them into PCSX yet. This worked great, cheers. So nice to see our old 111-hour Dragon Quest 8 save is still alive and kicking. So many memories!

    Dude, this is probably the best CZcams video, ever. The fact that I now have the MTV music generator 2 and all of my (over 500 music files), I'm happier than my greedy ass dogs with a bowl full of chicken scraps - If I had a tail it, it would be (band) wagging right now. I'm Rebel XD, by the way - And you are one of the coolest guys I've seen in recent times on CZcams because of this video. It works, I really loaded some of my files, now just to get allll the rest of them - one at a fuckin' time lol.

    It finally worked , but I went a different route , I used the experimental memory card on the pcsx2 , after creating it I dropped everything I copied from the PS2 , then I formated it using the pcsx2 and the bios , then I went back after formatting it to the pcsx2 settings and I transformed it into an 8mb memory card , then I went back to the bios to check if all the saves where there , and they where there , it worked ! The expiremental option on the create a memory card let s you dropped the files in .

      It is possible, with a modded PS2 running uLaunch.
      Mount the virtual memory card used by PCSX2, in myMC (Windows program). Export the saves you want to .PSU file(s). Copy the .PSU file(s) to FAT32 formatted USB. In uLaunch, copy the .PSU file(s).
      Still in uLaunch, go to your memory card, and use the psuPaste command, and it will convert the .PSU file(s) in to native saves your actual PS2 will read from your memory card.

    I just had the problem that the games didn't recognize any savegames. As it turns out, the BIOS as well as the game needs to match the one that created the savegames. So i pulled the BIOS of my original PS2 using DUMPBIOS-MASS.elf and used the resulting files as the BIOS. For the game i created an .iso using ImgBurn. Works perfectly now.

    • @thequintessentialgamer7514
      @thequintessentialgamer7514  Před 2 lety

      Save games work with multiple BIOS's. It was kind of the point with memory cards to continue playing a game at a friend's house but not have to bring your whole system over. The exception maybe being region codes. Idk enough about that but wouldn't be surprised if say your made a bunch of saves on a region 1 PS2 with region 1 games and are now trying to use those saves on PCSX2 with a region 2 BIOS. Not sure if that was your problem but either way I'm glad you were able to pull your own BIOS and got it working!

    2:21 the ps2 definetly would have recognised it. Problem is that some storage products need more power. For example I have an old hard drvie that i run my ps2 games from on OPL. If I where to connect it to my ps2 it would work just fine. But I have another, a newer one, which doesnt work when I plug it into the ps2's usb porn but it works on my router. Just a problem of power.

  • @jonnyc212121
    @jonnyc212121 Před 3 lety

    This isn't helpful if you don't have a "modded" PS2. What does that even mean. I was always able to get saved games from gameFAQs and put them on to my memory card, but I can't do it in reverse without some type of super hacker nonsense?

    • @thequintessentialgamer7514
      @thequintessentialgamer7514  Před 3 lety

      Yeah unfortunately a bunch of things aren't really possible without modding it. However modding a ps2 has become really easy these days, all you need to do is buy a "Free McBoot memory card" from eBay for like $8 and just stick it in. It will softmod your ps2 and you'll be able to do what I did in this vid

      I'd love to know how you downloaded saves and got them on to your memory card, without a modded PS2, or a memory card interface to your PC.
      In either case, if you were able to download saves and get them on your memory card in the first place, then you should be able to read saves from your memory card too. Sounds like you're all set.
