  • NYAYA Forum for Courtroom Lawyering presents a Webinar Series on Practical Skills for Litigation.
Session No 1 : Structuring of Pleadings
Panelist : Justice N Anand Venkatesh
Justice N Anand Venkatesh is a sitting judge of Madras HC. He started his journey as a lawyer in 1993 at the Madras High Court. After working for four years as a junior, he started his own independent practice in 1997. He is a first generation lawyer, and during his independent practice he worked on various kinds of cases like - Original side, Appellate side, Criminal side and Writ Jurisdiction before the Hon'ble High Court of Madras. He also did service matters before the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai Bench and practiced in the subordinate courts - both Civil and Criminal. He has gallons of experience in litigation and advocacy and this is a great opportunity to learn from him about something as fundamental as structuring pleadings.

Anand Venkatesh sir is truly a legend.🙏 His legal mind of highest level, his fountain of experience and knowledge, the way he enunciates facts and application of law thereto through realtime examples are just out of the world. His use of appropriate legal words and absolute clarity in what he speaks of makes him the best teacher. I have been ardently and religiously following all his webinars, both civil and criminal. Thanks a lot to the organisers for having been able to steal some of his precious time. Pliz do try to bring his lordship more often. Hope to see his lordship very soon as a SC judge...!

    Your honour,
You are a great role model for many. Your Frank and very transparent sharing of thoughts both in personal and official front is highly commendable. Pls given opportunity , teach ethics to advocates not to make money threatening citizens colluding with SHO merciless few in the dept.
Never allow any advocates even out of court settlement to handle cash. Looting the innocent litigants both SHO and so-called advocates is a sin. Some advocates never allow to see high court or sub-ordinate courts judge telling them if you come there you will be arrested. Pls curtail this habit of lying.

A justice mentioning about having a soft corner for students and juniors wreaks of bias..and earlier the justice had mentioned that it would be difficult to feed if he didn't take up any case that came by his way..these self proclamations are not quiet indicative of a unbiased judge..but then all judges think they are always right and they never err..so...you continue ..

Sad that hasty decision in providing stay by honourable Justice Anand Venkatesh in Madurai bench of Madras High court has resulted in injustice. Without hearing the case details or document verification of opponents why have he been so hasty is ugly.
Now the case is pending for listing for several months and when can the stay be vacated and justice met.
