@@BoundaryBreak Just a thought, but you could try Twitch streaming your Let's Playing / footage gathering sessions, and then follow it up with a traditional CZcams episode acting as a summary of the best moments and discoveries from the stream(s). That could allow you to both stick to the current format *and* produce additional content.

Nestor Custodio I feel this is a great idea and it’s going to help a lot, but I think it might be better to have a large video after the BTS small lets play videos for those who want them
It's not just the algorithm it's fucking people. A well made video like this sadly gets views and comments alot slower than a fortnight let's play

Yeah, the way the algorithm works right now crushes animators and musicians while benefitting streamers and anyone who can churn out something daily. It's pretty crappy.
@@ohnoitschris Absolutely. The "churn beats quality" attitude CZcams seems to be insentivizing is the source of so many of the problems both creators and viewers have identified and railed against time and again.

I prefer the new format, I like quality over quantity. Unscripted let's plays are what everybody else is doing. Your style, and the high quality Production value of your channel, is what gives it its uniqueness!.
I know CZcams's algorithm doesn't favor this, but I thought I would just let you know how most of us feel.
Why do some of the letters in the dialogue boxes get removed when zooming out?
Removing the culling causes graphical errors. There's no complex explanation, just a simple thing

It's a bug in the code. The game has 100 or so "parameter slots" that are used by the shader. I noticed that the shader code uses slots 80-84 for the final camera in the 3D scenes, but the text shader use those slots for other purposes. This happened in OoT3D too, Jasper just had an easier "tell" to know when the game was rendering text, and disabled the camera hack then.
They're not rendering the text in 3D or anything like that. It's just because 80-84 means "camera" for 3D objects, but something entirely different for text.

I would watch the new format. Would you consider a hybrid, doing the let's play then a kind of scripted best of video at the end of the game?
This was going to be my recommendation. I'm all for giving LPs a try, but it would be great to still have a "highlights" review of stuff found to close out a set of LPs.
Exactly what | though too! I wouldn't mind longer videos with moore footage, even if it was less meaningful. I'd still keep the curated ones at the end tho, if possible.
I agree with this idea. Let's Play style videos to discover with you, and highlight videos if we miss our chance, or only want to see the best

EDIT: I think having a Let's Play "discovery" series would be cool, but having the professionally done videos we've come to know should remain. I'm perfectly fine with waiting for a video (but that's me), and all of your videos have been absolutely worth the wait.
yea I think you should make the let's play series a spin off and try it for a month. Maybe call it something like Super Boundary Break, Boundary Break DX, Boundary Break GO
maybe for the formatting issue there could be two series on the channel where one is the actual boundary breaking and the second is a highlights reel similar to the current format?

The curated content is what makes the channel good.

This is a solid idea! That way there's something for new fans to get excited about while also keeping oldies satiated with heavier content.
Id suggest you seperate the two series, boundary play where you just play the game through with cameras moving, and boundary break, where you use everything you had from the play through, compile the best stuff and voice over it

This has to be my favourite game of all Zelda games, I'm not sure how many people share that sentiment but it's just so great and nostalgic for me
I'm so sorry that it's not going well. I know I skip lots of episodes of games that don't particularly interest me. But I absolutely love the ones for those that do. I don't like this new idea, but then again I hate watching live streams in general.
I hope that you can do both the new format and the more curated one.
MicManGuy that would be a good compromise for the much longer games that he might do. The shorter games would fit quite well into the new format.

So my suggestion for the show format would be to do both the Lets Play and the Highlights. I wod just call the LP something else. So you make the multiple unscripted videos of looking for stuff, then later release a boundary break episode with all the highlights. So basically how it is now, but we also see the "looking for stuff" part. Or, I dont know what all goes into these videos, but you could live stream the discovery part, so then you could get viewer suggestions. And upload the footage of that as the LP part.
I found my way here after Arin on Game Grumps mentioned the way A Link Between Worlds was modelled :)
It breaks my heart truly to hear you say the channel might be tanking, but I am crazy excited to see what you do next. Honestly, doing a "let's play" version sounds ideal for this type of show and I'm shocked this didn't become a thing sooner. I have the highest hope and respect for you my dude and sincerely wish you the best in your endeavors.

Great video! I really liked the background info you gave at the beginning and the way you handled the explanation of why everything is tilted.
Personally, I like the curated version. It's enough content. I don't watch every single video anyway. If you release more unedited stuff, I won't watch it all. But do what you need to.
Isn't that kind of the issue? People not watching all the videos? That's the reason for doing this.
If he normally puts out two videos a month and you watch, maybe, one of them? That's not good. You're in at 50% at best. But if he puts out fifteen videos and you watch, maybe, three of them? That's more views, thus more money, even if it's 20% of his videos.
@@drudle It is, and it absolutely makes sense financially to put out as many videos as possible. I get why he's doing it. Good for him. Just saying that I personally, as a viewer, would prefer to see all the good stuff without having to sort through extra footage to get there. But I'm not going to quit watching the channel or whatever. As an aside, I do watch most of them. Just glancing back at the last 50, I've seen 44 of them.

Ive been watching your stuff since around the beginning man, It’s such a great idea for a show. I’m actually surprised nobody really did anything with the idea beforehand because it’s something just about everyone has wondered since their childhood. I’m glad you got where you are now, and I knew you would blow up in size since the beginning because of the quality of your videos. CZcams’s recommendation feed must not be too bad since it brought me to your channel initially. I know I probably sound a bit corny, but I’m serious. You have good reason to be proud of where you are at. Keep it up dude.

a thing i would like as well is a "behind the scenes" kinda thing. Not entirely how you do, but what you do and how much ends up to be in the videos. That is probably easily summed up in one comment of 200 words, but showing is better and cant be overlooked so easily.

I kinda like the idea of following you through the process of breaking the game's camera boundaries. I know people will say Let's Plays are a little tired, and they can be for sure, but this feels more fun and very natural for you

I wish you all the best with the new format. I personally wouldn't be as interested in watching live streaming (or videos of a livestream) because (no offense) it just takes up too much of my time, compared with a video like this where you're definitely going to see something. I don't really like LPs because they generally have hours and hours of content, and only a couple of minutes of it are good. Just posting my opinion of course

I actually like the idea of the let's play style, reminds me of some other channels that focus on glitches and stuff. it's be fun to get to watch you just run around and see what you find!

You can actually tell the game is made at a weird angle in certain parts of the over world of you enter walls. I discovered this first at the area far south of Link's house and entering the wall. Going along it sideways I saw that the statues we're tilted weird and figured it out.
God, I love this game. As someone who was born a few years too late to play A Link to the Past, this game was my first exposure to 2D Zelda. And, as far as I'm concerned, A Link Between Worlds validates that subgenre. The music, graphics, gameplay and story are pushed past their limits in what I'd call the best Zelda since Majora's Mask, and one of the best Zelda's ever. Thanks for giving it more of the exposure it deserves.

The funny thing is, I realized this when I played the game on my 3DS years upon years ago by somehow breaking the camera...it's been so long that I don't remember what I did but I specifically remember seeing everything look like tilted, but I can't just be remembering the picture because I've never seen the picture until now

I am 100% on board with you doing multiple videos for individual games as a series rather than getting one every few weeks.
Fun fact: in the swamp area there is a heart piece surrounded by statues. Right behind it is a higher chunck of land where you can merge into the side. You can now see the world sideways and here you can clearly see the statues and heart piece bending backwards diagonally.

Thanks to Boundary break explaining environment tricks, it helped me by incorporating clever illusions in some of my smash custom stages.
I, personally, definitely prefer your curated content, but would watch a let’s play hybrid of it.
I hate that the algorithm is screwing you over this way. You produce amazingly unique and well tailored content and honestly deserve a lot more exposure.
Streaming the boundary breaks and then uploading them to your channel may be something to consider. Having an audience giving you ideas of where to go could prove particularly useful. Anyway, great video!
