According to Miyamoto, the Death Mountain skip is intentional because, and I quote, "Those bastard crows are so damned annoying. Please include a single helpful crow who is able to assist the player in some way. Otherwise I fear our relationship with players will be compromised by an abundance of thrown 3DS units and broken household windows."

a story with a happy ending: here i was, trying to perform the glitch that allows you to pull out the shield while holding a rock (except i was doing it with a bush). the r button on my 3ds hadn't been working for a long time, it would only rarely react, and was thus untrustworthy in my quest to save the kingdom. alas, my hopes of performing this glitch were dwindling, but then, as i was rapidly pressing the dreaded button, i started hearing a muffled sound that would repeat each time i pressed r, as if it was telling me that a certain action was not possible under these conditions. could it be? i put down the bush (turns out the glitch only works with rocks) and, yes, there it was! my shield would appear e v e r y time i pressed r, ready to defend me from fiends out to impede me on my quest. you, sir a+start, fixed my 3ds. now i can use the r button to dash in mariokart, i can use it to block octorock stones and spears in all of my zelda games, i can be normal again. you, sir, saved me.
This needs to be pinned.

pretty much how i thought they figured it out.

@The main cause of warps in all of reality probably by logic y know, like "hey if i get damaged i got knocked back, if i got damaged while suspended in the air it amplifies the knock back, so if i just somehow damage myself while i somehow suspend my self in the air, i might be able to get somewhere i wasnt supposed to be"
Then another dude be like "yeah make sense lets try it out"
@Kaiden McWhorter I get that speed runners are constantly trying to find new ways to go faster, but some skips, just the set-up for it, is so complicated, I don't understand how they could even think to try said thing.

Sequence break glitches always make me wonder just how they were found out. Did they happen by accident? Or did someone think "Hey, if I place a Bomb here and then use the Tornado Rod just before it explodes, what'll happen?"
Hardcore Alex I always assume it's a mixture of both.

most speed runners will find out how some games work and will try to find glitches like this to see if they can cut seconds out of a run and sometimes some glitches are accidentally found like the ditman glitch in resident evil 4 where someone accidentally found it but it was implemented in speedruns as you move and attack faster which is essential in a speedrun and some people like testers look for glitches to help patch the game in certain spots but sometimes they still get through or if you're bethesda it becomes a feature of the game
Because those players knew about ALTTP glitches involving bombs and intentional knockback.

I'm really loving how you keep setting the bar higher with the quality in each video. Seeing the glitch types and controller mappings becoming easier to follow really encourages giving these a shot.

I remember when I was playing this game I found a small glitch in Kakariko Village where if you use pegasus boots to dash diagonally at a certain house, you will end up dashing in place against a corner without ever being knocked out of the dash like you normally are when you hit a wall or corner. You can easily get out of this position by canceling the dash, and it doesn't appear to have a use, so it really has no effect on the game, but it is kind of funny to watch link just continue to run full speed at a wall.
For a solid 10 seconds I thought the title said Breath of The Wild then I remembered, "Wait doesn't the Switch come out tomorrow?" lol...

A lot can happen in 3 years and many more people have already made the same joke, on this same video, since then. wow great video. i will definitively try some of these in my second playthrough.
I found a glitch of sorts. Near the Zora Domain, on the same screen in fact, there's a corner where an edge that you can jump off, and one you can't jump off. If you dash at the corner, Link will run continuously, vibrating as well, in front of the corner. You can stop this by stopping the dash!
wow. this game was really glitchy. but none of those glitches beat the skip in a link to the past where you could literally skip the whole game.

Yes, virtually every glitch he does himself. I think there was one he explained once that was so hard he couldn't do it and asked for someone else's footage to be used.
