He will be an excellent pilot. He has the right personality. He cares about details and likes learning.
Please look into the physical/health requirements needed to become a commercial pilot according to the FAA. This is a very expensive road and if you cannot pass a first class medical (which you have to get done every 6 months) and EKG (any one over 40, done once a year) and keep it your full flying career (until age 65) you will not have a job flying.
Recommendation from a pilot wife-take the first class medical now before you start down this path.

Mike has the perfect personality for a pilot! I’ve been watching a really long time, started as you were getting ready to move into the RV the first time, and I don’t remember Mike ever loosing his temper or getting really worked up and stressed. So calm and even tempered! ❤️❤️
I went back to school at 47 to become a special ed teacher and started teaching full time when I was 49. Good for you for following your dreams!

I love this for you all. At 47, I changed careers. I was a healthcare financial analyst, quit my job, and returned to school to study interior design, which was what I always, from high school on, wanted to do. It was hard & challenging but with the support of my son & wonderful husband, I made it. I started my own firm, worked every facet of the business, made mistakes and learned from them, joined my professional organization and became president of the local city chapter, and made so many new friends. Now at almost 72, I can’t believe how fast the years passed & I am so thankful that I spent those years doing something I love and still continue to do even if it is now on my own semi-retired timeline. God and family have been so good to me and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to achieve my dream. I can’t wait to see where your dreams take you!

Woohoo! life is always an adventure! Two days after I turned 61 I graduated with a degree in secondary education. You are never too old to try new things or fulfilling dreams. Happiness is the goal! Mike will quickly master this skill. He has the perfect temperment for a pilot. One more safe and trustworthy person piloting is a plus for all!
My son trained for a pilot and achieved his instrument training certificate right before the pandemic. It was about $30,000. He was devastated and couldn't see the way forward. The love is still there. I'm thinking to give him a little push after watching this video, so thanks.

As someone who has that nomadic spirit myself, these changes make total sense. I’m someone who loves changes, exploring, and going to new places. I went back to school and became a travel nurse after being a teacher for a while so my job would allow me to travel. I lived in an Rv for a bit and did short rentals as I moved from place to place every 3 months. I love that you are so nomadic while having kids! Not only does it help them with learning adjusting to change at a young age but they can see that mom and dad aren’t afraid to go after their dreams. You both are blessed to have partners who have the same nomadic spirit. Can’t wait to see all the adventures you guys get up to in the future
I know of someone who went from banking to being a pilot in his 50’s. He’s now flying commercially and LOVES it
I started watching y’all in 2017 when you were RVing & it’s only been 7yrs & you guys have packed more into those 7yrs than I will in probably a lifetime. Don’t worry about the judgements. You love the Lord, love your children, love each other, pay your bills & don’t need handouts. It’s a pretty great life. Keep doing what makes you happy ❤ I’m super excited to watch it all.

It seems in every relationship, one person talks more than the other. Unfortunately, some criticize the one who talks more, and the one who doesn't talk as much.
They've made whole videos about how Mike loves that she leads in conversation and he doesn't appreciate comments that infer negatively about her.
It looked like he was really eager to talk to tell us about it.

My husbands dream is to be a landlord, I know that sounds odd, but his family had to deal with a lot of unscrupulous landlords as he was growing up, and any time they had a good one it stuck out to him. He wants to be someone who keeps nice homes at fair prices and doesn’t let the bottom line dictate people’s lives. He realized this in 2016 and we are still working on it, but I am so glad he was able to really think about what he wants from life- previously he thought he didn’t have choices and was stuck in life.
I would love to watch you earn your license! I am a woman that earned her license at 40 something, also. Sooo worth it! ❤💞

What a beautiful epiphany you've had. I'm really happy for you, Mike. I hope you are so proud of yourself. My husband and I live exactly the same way as you two with our 4 kids. We take chances and talk as a family before we make any choices. We moved across country 4 years ago and are looking at moving to Hawaii at the end of the year. We are nomadic and are happy together no matter where we are. We all just follow our hearts and let our kids think the same way-- outside of the box. I also want to offer my support to you for making the right call with your parents. I think it's wonderful that you considered both their needs and yours. Ignore any negative comments. I'm so glad to see you all back in the RV!:-)

I find this all glorious and refreshing! I can't tell you how much we think alike. When I was just about to turn 50, I decided I wanted to learn how to ride a motorcycle. Within 8 days, I had my lessons and my license, and I bought a motorcycle.
Shortly after that, we decided to move from a very loved suburb to a somewhat tiny house on 10 acres of land surrounded by beauty.
Now, we live just outside of a suburb in a small town in a very sweet house with a lot of character on 1/2 an acre of land. But I am struggling. Like Mike, I've always wanted to get my Pilot's license. I'm 58 years old, and that's just not going to happen at this point. Watching your adventure is a joy. I can relate to you so much. I'm just not where I am meant to be yet. I watch CZcams channels where people are traveling year-round, and I envy them and imagine doing that someday. If tomorrow you decide you want to be a farmer or a doctor, go for it. In other words, live life one day at a time and enjoy each day doing exactly what you want to do.❤❤❤❤❤
