How did we end up here?
It all began with a year of full-time travel, embracing the van life until the world shifted, and we had to adjust accordingly. With travel no longer an option but determined to stay productive, we transformed our compact mobile abode into a self-sufficient off-grid dwelling that fulfilled all our needs. Recognizing the uncertainty of the current tiny home, we quickly realized a permanent residence was the most sensible choice. Over the past three years, we have meticulously overseen every aspect of the project ourselves, planning the construction while simultaneously setting up the off-grid property to sustain our future food requirements. For the last two years we've lived in a Geodesic Dome, which has allowed us to be comfortable (expect for the winter months), while we realize our shipping container home dream. However, this will mark our 4th winter with stable electricity, running water, or a flushing toilet and time has come to come up with a new plan going forward.

The fact we actually posted this video today is nothing short of a miracle 😆 ...we are both SO tired and sore, obviously for very different reasons. In the 15 years we've been together, I've never seen him in that bad of a way! For him to not even have picked up the camera ONCE and truly left me on my own should tell you how bad he was LOL!!😅. Also, I know what you're thinking...it was nothing I cooked! He thinks I'm crazy but I'm convinced it was a bagged salad he got from the grocery store! Anyway, more importantly...what did you think of what I got up to this week?? How cool did those spaces turn out?!
Actually it could have been the salad if it had cucumbers. At the beginning of June we ate at a restaurant - I didn't order anything with cucumbers but my wife on the other hand...she was so sick. Then 2 days later cucumbers were recalled for having salmonella. Good job Todd on the projects - I think Lake Lane is a good fit. Get a custom street sign made too.
Oh and to add..... I love when you're unsupervised 😆

It's like he's got 40 identical siblings aka clones and they are all working at once and we just don't know it!!! i have adhd, my kid has adhd, I procrastinate far more than I DOOOOO! Though not to say the guys don't deserve their money but if I had money to make my whims work more easily I may be more productive. Like if I could just hop in a truck and go get a load of gravel and stones etc but 99% of what gets done by these guys is stuff I would have to budget for for MANY MANY months (I'm sure they do as well to avoid debt) but then by the time it came to do it I wouldn't want it anymore! HAHAH Basically, I just need Tyler and Todd to come be bored at my house and see what happens HAHAHAHAH

The firepit area is beautiful and to have a place for axe throwing right outside your door must be a dream! And thanks for your commitment to keeping us entertained on a Sunday afternoon! I really think Todd missed his calling as a landscape architect. Just to be able to visualize what you want, build it yourself, adapt along the way isn't easy. It looks beautiful, guys! Sending you healing vibes, Ty! I've been craving some cabin in the woods/decompress time and this video only helped me along lol.

You need a wooden sign as people come up the trail to the Axe / Knife area. One on a rope that you can flip over ... one side says "SAFE" and other side says "KINVES OUT" ... cuz that net don't look like it is gonna do all that it needs to ... just in case. Then when you are on your way to go play in the Axe / Knife area, you just flip the sign on your way there. And you train all your guest to look for the sign, which is far away & out of the "death zone," warming others. And then you can feel safe each time you are out there "playing with knives"

Also a bit concerned about the dogs...
Do people ever just drop in? I'd be tempted to put the safety net across every time, as well as the cool sign. I don't know what your public liability insurance is like over there, they're hardly ever onside.
@@Reefsider-fq4skputting a knife throwing area in an open walkway is never a good idea. That's a disaster waiting to happen. 1 mistake and you're done. This type of games should be done inside a safe space.

A fire pit will smoke. Fresh air needs to be brought in at the bottom. Gaps in the bottom roll of bricks will allow air to be drawn in at the bottom, giving the wood burning fresh air making the fire burn hotter, a more complied burn - no smoke. it works better.
I can see Todd installing some sort of tube that sucks in fresh air from the lower grade below or something 😆

I’m not sure if this is true, but I’ve heard that there’s actually no such thing as “stomach flu”, but like 95% of the time is food poisoning, which we have way more often than we realize, just differing in severity.

My daughter is just like you Tyler. Since the age of 5 she does not want to be comforted when she’s sick. She’s 7 now and she barely lets me touch her forehead without becoming suspicious that I’m trying to check for a fever. I’m glad you’re feeling better Tyler! All the projects look great Todd!

Tyler, I'm sorry you were so sick! Making a bed in the bathroom was a great idea. Todd really could have been correct about the bagged salad. There have been many cases over the years of food poisoning from lettuce, sprouts, etc., in the States. I'm glad you are better. Todd, dude, get yourself to my house! This 67-year-old woman has many projects that need to be done! It's crazy how much you accomplish, and I love how your mind works and designs! You always have a path you are following. As he stands there with knives, and a hatchet..you gentleman have so much respect for each others space ..I guess when you were down for several days,and you get up you might expect a few wheel barrels of crushed stone to be pushed over there but 2 redesigned staircases,a fire pit a filled walkway,a totally cleared and graveled path to the bunkie, a designed,and stabilized ax throwing area ( or "game board "area for the cultured echelon ( stand here, you're safe, heheh)...well his worry and love kept him motivated, if you were down another day he would have built a marina,with tie downs for float planes, ships . Goodnight fellas you sure know how to work.Boy the dogs really loved the new steps..how they ran and " flew" thru the air to descend to next level in milliseconds...Much respect, rest, massages good meals and laughter to you both and your delighted pets.🐾🐾🐾
