I don't really know how to feel about this one. It just feels... tainted. I'm not salty at the fact that the Saints aren't in the Super Bowl. I'm salty because a great game (maybe two, depending on who you talk to) was ruined thanks to an egregious no-call. I've said my piece about refball already, however, so we will leave that behind us... at least until it happens again.
As for the game at hand, we have two teams that aren't exactly the most well-liked at this moment in time. We have the perennial AFC contenders that just won't die and the emerging NFC power that left a scorned city in its wake. The NFL gets their first taste of the Boston/LA rivalry that has played out in the NBA and MLB before.
What surprises (or lack thereof) will this game have in store? What will happen to the other teams that were eliminated before the big game? This video will attempt to explain the scenarios being played out... maybe.
Speaking of which, that Rams vid I did a few years ago aged well, didn't it? I guess I can reason it was when they bottomed out and before they hired McVay. I'll try to comfort myself with that. - Sport

@@santilevy9174 well it would've been a much higher scoring game. Brees and Brady were playing similar offensives, using their RB's for play action and big playmakers for deep passes. However, Brees was seriously stinking it up down the stretch. The explosiveness the saints had early in the season started to decline after their loss to the Cowboys. Their playoff run was evidence to this. They had to play a come-from-behind, close game against the eagles and couldn't stamp the victory against the rams even, when Brees got the ball in OT. I feel like Belichick would've been able to detect Brees's weakness and shut down his favorite targets. Put Gilmore on Michael Thomas and cover the crossing routes against Ingram and Kamara. Would I've liked to have seen it though? Absolutely. But I'll take trophy numba 6 against shitty Goff and the unproven Mcvay

The Dodgers-Red Sox was a one time thing. Last time I checked, the Bruins-Kings hasn’t happened yet. And Pats-Rams only happened twice (the first time wasn’t even LA, we didn’t have a hometown team for over 20 years). Also, and maybe I’m just crazy, but the LA/Anaheim area have more sports teams than any other city (other than New York, tying their 8). While Boston has a team in all 4 major sports.

Even if you rule out PI (which it still clear as day was), there's the issue of the helmet to helmet hit. Without either, ball is almost definitely caught, first down. With PI call, first down. With helmet to helmet, first down. Leans on a kick that is a pretty sure lock to go through anyway to seal the game. The offense was playing to milk the clock, not just to score a TD. While Drew shouldn't have thrown the pick, more importantly, he shouldn't have been on the field in the first place other than to celebrate the outstanding high probability win if the right calls got made.
Once again, don't have the rules if you aren't going to stand by them.
That said, I'll give LA credit, they did play really well...but, they shouldn't be the NFC Champs. They gave away a game-winning drive then got gifted two no-excuse missed calls in one play.. on the same player giving them a chance they didn't deserve to stay in the game and eventually win it.

@@grayebarb6022 Honestly when watching that play there was, AT THE LEAST, defensive holding going on against the Chiefs secondary. When I watched that roughing call, I noticed the flag came from behind Brady. The referee behind him could not see that the hand barely brushed his facemask. That ref made the wrong call because he didn't have the right angle, but at the same time there should have been a penalty called anyway.... Don't try to diminish the Patriots victory by claiming the refs gave it to them.
@@TheCrazyOgre i honestly didnt watch the game cause i was still salty af from that rams game. The pats are great and all but it doesnt matter to me at this point i cant cheer for either team. The rams for obvious reasons and the pats because they ALWAYS find a way to win. It really is greatness at its peak
NFL reffing has been downhill for the last 20 years. People are just starting to realize now. At the same time, the refs can’t be blamed for every mistake
