    Were the parts marine specific or do you just use gm parts

      Regular GM automotive. Summit, Jets, Speedway Motors. A little bit of everything. 👍

      @@605BOLT thanks I've been having the hardest time trying to find marine parts

      For all the bearings, rings, gaskets etc. I used just regular cheapo automotive stuff. Everything outside of the engine should be marine but the insides should be run of the mill GM. The gasket kit I had in these videos from Mr Gasket covered most of the gaskets. Just had a couple random ones it was missing.

      Thanks bro. Kind of boring but helpful for someone that is doing the rebuild I think.

      Check out the hose for crap too. Flush it or get a new one.

      Mine got clogged up and was running hot. Blew head gasket and valve seat collapsed. About to pull it any day now

      Which hose? The water intake hose?

    So what was the problem? Where did the water come in?

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  Před 3 lety +2

      Never really found out for sure. Machine shop was thinking maybe the head gasket might have been blown. 🤷‍♂️

      @@605BOLT did you check exhaust manifold on this side? If it leaks, water can get in from the exhaust ports. Also, back flow from the riser (if you stop the boat too quickly) could also get to the exhaust ports. It it was head gasket, it's very rare that water can go to multiple cylinders at the same time. My thoughts.

      I haven't yet. I will do that before I install them. Could be the gasket failed in them or they are cracked. Hard to say.
