The Rebel Alliance has destroyed the Death Star, defeated Darth Vader and the Emperor, and driven the remnants of the old Imperial Starfleet to a distant corner of the galaxy.
Princess Leia and Han Solo are married and expecting Jedi twins. And Luke Skywalker has become the first in a long-awaited line of Jedi Knights.
But thousands of light-years away, the last of the Emperor's warlords has taken command of the shattered Imperial fleet, readied it for war, and pointed it at the fragile heart of the New Republic....

Actually, my secret is I had this one pretty much finished before 20, it just needed a few tweaks before it was ready for release. Work will start on 22 this week.
Plot twist: you had all chapters finished already. Chapter 20 just took the longest lol

My Luke/Mara obsessed ass was internally screeching all the way through this 😂 Watching them is so fun though. I especially loved Luke's little eyebrow raise after Mara shot the door panel. I can't tell if he was reacting to her shooting it or to that wonderful shot of her silhouette in the doorway but either or both is good I guess 🤣 It fit so well with his curious fascination with her in the books
He did mention the room was cozy. Was me making a pass at Mara?! 🤗😁❤️👍

Not just her expressions. The voice actress is rocking it. I had my concerns earlier, but she seems to be getting into the swing of things. Now if only the VAs for Karrde, Thrawn, and Pellaeon were as good...

You do an excellent job with these, Darth. I've been re-watching them individually. I can't wait until the first book is done and can watch the complete book in movie form. I also hope you plan to continue with "Dark Force Rising".
This is how Star Wars should be, a good story, with great script writing.

This chapter was amazing! I love the look of Karrde’s base. Did you know that today is the birthday of the legend and mitth himself, Timothy Zahn? That makes this extra special for me. Great job! Can’t wait for chapter 22!

I really love how well this story plays out on screen. Without the benefit of the character's internal dialogue.
I would recommend looking into some audio engineering tricks as it would help a lot more with immersing your viewership into this fan film you're creating. As someone with some knowledge in that field, it really takes me away from the experience when one voice actor's audio is a much higher decibel level than the other's, ex: Mara & Talon.
Another example is when Mara and Luke go from being outdoors then into the storage shed, their audio should have a slight echo. Same goes for when Luke and R2 are exchanging dialogue back and forth. Overall though I'm still quite glad you're continuing this series cause it's something I've always wanted to see made.

We are coming up to the Mara tells Luke her background scene. This would be a good chance for you to do a scene with the Emperor.
I found out about this today, and watched the entire series. This is an absolute gem. I'm happy to see Disney hasn't crushed the Star Wars in everyone's heart.
This was my FIRST Star Wars book (mid 80's), one of over a hundred since. I was never going to read the series again, but considered it my favorite. This has been a wonderful day for an old man and I really want to thank you.

That was quick! This is one of my favorite scenes of the book. I feel like sometimes Luke as a character doesn't get to express the technical ingenuity he inherited from his father and his only role is to swing a lightsaber and save the damsel in distress (definitely NOT Mara). I love what you did with Mara's expressions; you can see the emotions Timothy Zahn described in the book. Long story short: great job! I can't say enough good things about your work!

The directing work here is truly talented. Some parts of this work reflect that its a fan project. But the direction is as good as any movie, better even
_A surprise to be sure but a welcomed one_ to see another part so soon. Also, while it is Thrawn who is the most famous for being a tactical genius, one can see how many of the other characters here have smart plans & actions of their own.
I like the immersive sound effects of leaning back and forth in the chair.
Darth Angelus, you SERIOUSLY bring these characters TO LIFE. You are making me not like Mara Jade, for example, which is exactly how we are supposed to feel about her at this point in her “arc”. You have also NAILED Talon Karrde. He’s a rogue you just can’t hate……entirely. Every Episode you make is a gift to SW Fandom.

Big improvement with the eyes and facial features - more lifelike. Lip movement of course isn't there yet, but gets the job done.

Mara looks really good with those updates! Ι've always imagined Talon Karrde's voice quite differently, though, perhaps because it's always been Jeff Bridges in my mind for that part.
Oooo, yeah, Jeff Bridges fits my mental image of Karrde as well. The first time I saw an artist rendition of Karrde, which Darth's character is modeled after, it threw me. I always imagined him older, greying, etc.
For me probably inspired by the same art I ended up with Hulk Hogan. Since he's based on Zahn at a time when he had a stache that reminded me of him
The animation has been improving so much since the beginning ! Your work is insane. This series is a masterpiece. In a certain way I like that Karrde and Thrawn's voices are the same, it highlights the links that exist between the two characters, but that we don't really pay attention to in the books.
They Aren't, the creator is doing Karrde, with motion capture too, and another guy is doing Thrawn, if you look at the cast in the credits in the video description in one of the chapters, where they both feature, or in 2 different ones.
Crazy that this is gonna make like a nearly 4 hour long movie awesome though

Id go ahead and read it - theres a lot of things that Darth Angelus wasnt able to include in his chapters and there's a lot of description that Zahn paints the story with. You wont be hurting your enjoyment of this series!
Definitely listen to it all. I think this adaptation can be appreciated most when you know the story and recognise the chapters

Luke in this kind of looks like Stewart from Mad TV, at any moment I expect him to say "Look What I can do!". Yet this series and animation is amazing and I'm looking forward to more.
Excellent video 😊I can’t for the next part there were some sections I didn’t understand beforehand but now I do reading and are two very different things but if done could can figure things out
02:00 slight plot error, mara didnt bring the force lizard when she transferred Luke to a new cell. He coulda nabbed that blaster pretty easy with a force pull.
No error, the bubble of no force grows the more yaslamari are around, so Luke is going to be powerless anywhere on the planet.

So after spending billions on self-canonizing themselves Disney found there are no sufficient leftovers to at least hire writer before having to release something to be sold as a sequel to cover their expenses. And as result they managed to create just some random crap and now you have to make the actual episode VII on your own and for free. You have my respects, it turned to be really a great job.

Seems like Mara Jade got an Eva Green face treatment. I'm not gonna complain. Although I'm not sure about the voice, her former one seemed less evil than Lady Vurumail's voice.

I have a question regarding style of characters and animation: haven't you considered to use a style similar to Clone Wars/Rebels?
It could help to conceal some flaws (like uncanny valley, or monotonous movements) but enhance the dynamics of the story.
