@Brady Carrigan they ruined jack shit. and the thrawn trilogy did NOTHING groundbreaking, interesting or provoking! it did NOTHING with the characters!!! what happened to Luke in the Sequels might have not been liked by everyone but at least it was SOMETHING! what exactly did luke do here?? jedi-stuff and...yeah thats pretty much it. no change he went though, no lesson he learned, he wasnt altered by the end of his adventure theres no CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT! same goes for Leia, Han, Lando and...yeah pretty much everyone else except for mara jade. and mara jade is an awful character.

The Dragon Trilogy I was actually talking about how we got Hux (and I suppose Kylo since he “””commands””” some First Order troops) in Thrawn’s place. Good thing I hadn’t discovered the EU or the Thrawn Trilogy before I saw 7-9 or I’d have been mentally flipping tables, lol. Resurrecting Palpatine was.... weird, and that whole scene with the Sith (since when were there so many???) was reeaaally creepy. I will give you that, lol.

For someone who "Hated" the EU, George Lucas praised the authors and artists quite frequently, incorporated many of the EU works into the films, and was even directly involved with some of them, even guided the EU from behind the scenes, and heavily involved when he was not directly involved. The EU was just as much George Lucas' "Baby" as the films.
The Disney content, however, he hates, even calling Disney "White Slavers" after the showing of TFA.

The use of Thrawn's musical theme from Rebels is a nice touch. It's one of the best things Disney did for the character, really, and fits him here even better than it did there.
Why is it that only Star Wars fans are producing films (be it short) that are worth watching, while the "Big corporations" produce crap and screw up literally all we know about the Star Wars universe (worlds, tech, etc.). I look forward to watching you next installment. Thank You.
B/c the Corporations lack the soul, passion and dedication. When they look at Star Wars all they see is a cash cow to milk for all it’s worth and don’t care what they have to do in order to maximize their profits while failing to acknowledge what made the originals so great.

Although, even though the movie "The New Mutants" was woke I did like it except for the facts: 1. how they got together, 2. Wolfbane & and Mirage are gay, 3. Sun Spot was done wrong (they made him more like Magma than what Sun Spot was), 4. Cannon Ball was done wrong, 5. Karma was a member of the team before Magik, 6. they screwed up Magik's origin story, 7. they "super powered Mirage's power at the beginning and it's not supposed to be she had to work up to it. But I still liked it because I've been wanting them to do New Mutants for 20 + years.
Excellent job with Jorus Cbaoth. You made him an interesting character. The flashback scene was amazing. It gives the story a deeper epic feel. The action scene was well done. Pleasantly surprise that it was 12 minutes long. This is better than rebels and compares with the top episodes of the clone wars. Thank you.
That really is high praise! C'baoth was a challenge but from your feedback and others I've read so far, I think I succeeded. It surprised me that it was 12 minutes too. Chapters will be as long as they need to be to tell the story.

If there's one thing Rebels did really well, it was Thrawn, and in particular, his musical theme. How you applied it here as Thrawn manipulated C'boath was just perfect.
I just started reading this series after being mortified with the sequel trilogy from Disney. I just read chapter 4 then found this brilliant channel that is faithful to what I just read. I cannot wait to read the full story, and see future chapter animations!

Finish the books first! I just picked up a detail from the book I missed after three separate reads of the trilogy. This is an incredibly faithful retelling of the books, with great voice and animation talents.
This is so good. Back in 92, we called this trilogy the real ep 7-9

To me these legends ARE my sequels 😍 and the luke clip in mandalorian, WELL done.
If I had a chance to make the movies, I would have hired the Mandalorian guys and only them, I wouldn't even have to hand them the Legends books since they already own them. And I would tell them do as you wish.
I can see why a lot of people love and respect Thrawn. Whether it be the legends or canon, he's just as dangerous

@@saberiandream316 See what Disney never understands is; if they wanted to be greedy all they would have to do is literally copy paste these Legends books, give up on their arrogance about them deciding what is, and isn't canon...pay the authors royalties for their works...and they'd still make bank on every new game/movie. But, I guess common sense isn't what drives companies like Disney. Shame really :/

My fav part has got to be the part where Thrawn scritches the ysalamari on his shoulder. Sometimes the focus is so much on his military genius, or debatable ruthlessness, that its lovely to see glimpses of the "human" part he has - that connection with animals or nature; such as when he also regretted having to destroy coral reefs.
Thankyou and I agree. I feel like little details such as Thrawn interacting with the Ysalamiri are important. And it was a lot of fun to do that too, so there will be more moments to come :)

I'm not a fan of Pellaeon's voice, I'm afraid. I'm pretty impressed with the rest of the work though. I love that the Expanded Universe is still alive.
That was my take as well. To me, Pellaeon always had a softer, but more complex voice, able to reflect both is authority as an officer and his genuine curiosity and willingness to learn from Thrawn, who was his superior and, ultimately, his friend. But I can live with this voice. This is an awesome production!
I think for me its Audiobook influence, always imagined Pelleaon with a grandfatherly voice
I really like Jorus' voice. It fits perfectly.

I was just reading the book and I was super confused and then I remembered this was written before the prequels haha.
Wow! That was an amazing job abridging that chapter. The style choices and designs for the scenery were very good too.
C'Baoth came off a bit less crazy and far more cunning than I usually envision but I liked it nonetheless.
I wanted him to not be completely insane to start off but it's something that comes across as the story develops. I'm glad you enjoyed the story :D

Joruus C'Baoth's village and temple look amazing! I never quite visualized what they would look like, but you've animated something that looks like it came straight out of the Clone Wars show.

I disagree while I love The Thrawn trilogy I really want to see Lucas conclude his story of the Skywalker Saga?! I think he'll do it in novel form though?

I'm for both. This happens like 5 years after ROTJ and makes an awesome adventure. Lucas' trilogy would have been 20-30 years after and would have been a conclusion suitable to the epic struggle of light and dark.

Timothy Zahn wrote better dialogue ("Do you know the difference between an error and a mistake?" vs "I don't like sand"), has a better story structure, better character development (Mara Jade vs Episode II Anakin; not Clone Wars Anakin, who got great development though) etc.
Where Lucas ist superior is worldbuilding, general ideas and concepts ( Lucas creating the very idea for Star Wars vs Zahn only writing books in it ; the concept for the prequels was genius, making it a tragedy a good idea, though it was executed poorly) and story outlines.
I really would appreciate George's sequels, as long as he sticks to the things he's good at- designing the world, creating the outline and characters for the story- and of course stays AWAY from directing and writing.
I will definitey be reading this book with these playing. Way better than the sequels. not even close
I just started Heir to the Empire again and in found this! Thrawn has been one of my favorite Star Wars characters. I love that you are doing this and this is much better than what Disney put out with episodes 7,8 and 9. Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing more chapters!

The trilogy Disney should have made? Imagine the Mara Jade spinoff? Such good narrative, and impressed by the inclusion of the dialogue. Zahn does that to separate the characters from each other. I like C'boath, can't wait to see his descent into clone madness.

THIS is what I imagine as the Thrawn from Legends. Not the watered-down version from Star Wars Rebels that would occasionally mention art but then repeatedly get defeated over and over.

This was the story that established star wars lore going forward, and without it there would not have been the prequels. Not flawless, nothing is, but definitely what made the entire expanded universe.

If anyone is interested, the whole trilogy was made into an official German audio drama with all the original Geman voice actors back in 2012. Also that's where Thrawn's voice originates from, Rebels adapted it very closely years later. Just search for "Erben des Imperiums".

You use the Anthony Daniels pronunciation of C'boath.
Truly, this is the greatest possible adaptation of the work. (And an excellent voice actor for C'boath, too).
Although Thrawn and Pellaeon use the Zahn pronunciation. Presumably to show that they truly are villains.
The pronouncation is always going to be tricky :)
