The Rebel Alliance has destroyed the Death Star, defeated Darth Vader and the Emperor, and driven the remnants of the old Imperial Starfleet to a distant corner of the galaxy.
Princess Leia and Han Solo are married and expecting Jedi twins. And Luke Skywalker has become the first in a long-awaited line of Jedi Knights.
But thousands of light-years away, the last of the Emperor's warlords has taken command of the shattered Imperial fleet, readied it for war, and pointed it at the fragile heart of the New Republic....

Awesome. Ghent has always been my favorite member of Karrde's crew. Well, except for Mara.
I refuse to believe anything other than Ben Kenobi setting up Luke to have an adventure with Mara. The current chapter is the start of the best arc of Heir to the Empire, book 1 of the Thrawn trilogy. Highly looking forward to Luke and Mara's journey.
The quality of animation every chapter just gets better and better, and the voice actors sound very capable of matching what is to come.
You're doing the Star Wars fandom a major service with this, as older fans finally get to see it animated. While new fans can be teased just how great the Pre-Disney Expanded Universe was, especially Timothy Zahn's books.
This is some high praise indeed!
One of my goals with this series is to introduce newer fans to the Expanded Universe.
It's always great when someone says they've started reading the books because they watched my work.
@@DarthAngelus well, I can tell you with certainty that you have been successful in that endeavour already. I'm on a lot of Star Wars forums and I've both personally, and seen others do likewise, but use your video series to basically tease Canon timeline only fans and just casual fans unsatisfied with the Sequels of what the Original Expanded Universe and Thrawn Trilogy is, and why it is superior in my eyes.
Quite a few of them do actually start reading them as a result. So you are doing an incredible job of keeping the EU alive for future generations.

Lowkey Ghent is one of my favourite EU characters, he only appears sparingly post Thrawn Trilogy, but I love his demeanor in the Hand of Thrawn Duology 🤣.
After Wedge and Qwi broke uo she should have gotten with Ghent.
Ah, I absolutely LOVE the use of the Skipray Blastboat model from the ancient X-Wing games!
Then again, would expect nothing less of this kind of homage to the good Star Wars of old!

I love the use of the Jedi Outcast/Academy sound effects! I am also still in awe of the upgrade to the visuals since the first chapter, especially Mara's new model. Amazing work mate :)

It’s like watching a prequel/successor series to JO and JA.
The Thrawn Trilogy takes place 3 years before JO and 5 years before JA, so it would be a prequel if that's how you look at it.

Just watched it and it's even better than I expected. Great to see Karrde's voice volume fixed, the conversations between him and Mara are much better than before
I think the arrival details for Han solo added to the story. I know you want to focus on the plot line, but a little subtlety could not hurt. And when Mara runs after Luke, she could be made to sprint faster if she wasn't hopping..
The models really have come a long way. I'm very impressed.

Love the graphics and pacing of the story-the rising tension is felt in every moment and I love the perspective of Karrde trying to move all the pieces of the chess board with Thrawn approaching. So much happening in this episode and the next couple of chapters-I can’t wait! Especially the Luke and Mara chase scene! Thank you again for continuing this story.

Sir, you are doing God's work. Seriously, The Thrawn Trilogy has been, is, and will always be the true and only sequel to the original trilogy, and to see it created on screen is a true pleasure. Anything else is fan fiction, no matter how expensive it may be or who may hold the rights at any given time.
And I thought Season 3 of the Mandalorian was uniquely good. I would say that you have done a stellar job on this, it's been little short of meteoric and looks set to get better and better.
Tbis was spectacular! What are the possibilities of you eventually reanimating the older animations and combining everything into one big movie to keep the animation quality consistent? I can't wait for the rest of this!

So good! One moment I really loved was at 9:13 when you had them moving up the hill hiding behind the tree and the camera follows them up. There's just something cool about you using three dimensions like that so simply but realistically.

I got into Star Wars at 12 years old when my grandpa took me to see Revenge of the Sith in 2005. I grew up on the old lore including Mara Jade and Thrawn. Mara Jade is the reason I'm into redheads (*dab*) and to see what back then I only could imagine in my head I can now witness is a wondrous nostalgic trip to my teen years. Thank you, Lord Angelus. You helped a millennial turning 30 in July to feel a wee bit younger. Keep up the good work. And remember, the Dark Side is ALWAYS with you.
