No plot twist with K Howard. Historians believe that Thomas forced himself on her. Unfortunately that happened to her a lot. The reason why she thinks every time is different, I think, is because she never had a healthy relationship as most of these men had an uncomfortable amount of power over her seeing as many of the age differences were ridiculous.
This musical actually makes more sense with context lol. Basically, the plot is that they’ve created their own music group and they’re deciding who should lead the band based on who had the most crap to deal with from Henry. But when it’s time for Catherine Parr (the sixth wife) to compete, she instead tells them that they shouldn’t compare based on what they dealt with from Henry, they should focus on the other aspects of their life instead, so then the finale is about them reclaiming their stories and coming together and everything.

So the thing about SIX is that the wives build a Pop Music group and each sings a song trying to outdo the others in terms of what they have suffered from Henry in order to find the one that should lead the band

This musical is such great therapy for me. Howard’s song hits really hits close to home so after a nasty flashback or a garbage interaction I go home and belt out her song.
Im seeing Six this yearr. Eeeek. I met one of the queens form the london one but she won't be in it. She taught me choreo for no way, dont lose ur head, get down and six Edit : IT WAS SOOO GOOD! AND ONE OF THE QUEENS GOT ENGAGED AT THE VERY NEXT SHOW
She almost went the way of Boleyn and Howard and just barely made it to the end by the skin of her teeth. Apparently Henry was already looking for “lucky” bachelorette number 7. So if that was true, they were both trying to off each other 😂
I've just come here from the Facebook group, Musicals! I am loving this series! SIX is literally AMAZING! One of my favourite shows! Love finding new theatre CZcamsrs as well!! New sub here:)!
This show is soooo much better live !! Not that it's not good with just the cast recording, but the interactions between the queens on stage are hilarious !

Plus, how All You Wanna Do is supposed to be actually sang. (angrier and sadder towards the end) PLUS.... Its LIVE. Those amazing vocals LIVE!
Little shop of Horrors is a classic! It might just be me but, I like the 2019 Off broadway cast album better? (sorry lol) But both are BOPs (check out either one next!)
You should really see the whole musical because there's a lot of good historical jokes you're missing out on. There's no evidence to support that she wasn't good looking and she was actually well taken care of by him after their divorce, even considering her to be like a little sister to him. As for why he didn't want to stay married to her, it's possible it was due to them having a rather embarrassing first meeting. Her tried to surprise her with an English wedding custom where Henry dressed up as a woman and tried to kiss her (I think it was kiss, may have been an embrace??) which she obviously rejected, not knowing it was him (nor knowing of the custom as she was from Germany). Henry took great offence to this (and was embarrassed). The logic behind the custom was that true love would recognise true love in any form, even in a disguise. Maybe he was trying to find his next true love after his favorite died and took that as a bad omen along with his embaressment
I was listening to this musical in art class one day and and I have a habit of singing to things I know the lyrics to, and I was listening to heart of stone.. apparently I was singing a little bit louder than I thought I was because the guy sitting at his easel in front of me just said quietly "sing it girl!" And I died inside and started laughing. xD I was jamming to song because it fits my vocal range better than a lot of songs that I enjoy.
This is the most incredible Broadway show ever. Of course, I am obsessed with Tudor history. My spirit wife is Anne Boleyn. I love when she says "And then my daddy said ' you should get a head'." It's all incredibly true to each Queen. Read up on the internet! It will be better!
This year I was lucky enough to be able to see Hadestown, Six, and Beetlejuice on tour, and finally saw the In the Heights movie, so I have had so many new obsessions in only a few months. And then I find your channel reacting to all of these musicals. It’s perfect.
Ok so no ofence to the writers But They did Dont Loose Ur Head Ok so Anne had a lover and had to leave him to marry Hennry She loved politics and actuall Henrry acused her of cheating and said that if she didnt you know get her head chopped off that Elizabeth would not be able to get the crown. The real reason Anne of Cleaves was divorced is, Henrry pretended to be somone eels and came to "rescue" her like in the British tales but, she German and didnt know them so she was reasonably frightened and it embarrassed Hennry and you know the story from here. You probably already knew this (I cannot spell sorry)
This show is completely historical accurate and it's a great way to find out about the six wives of Henry the VIII when all that everyone knows is divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived. Yes, Jane Seymour (the Adele-like sad song 'Heart of Stone') died shortly after childbirth when her son (Henry's only legitimate male heir - Edward the VI, who died when he was just 15) was 12 days old.
HA! Love. I am glad you did another video. Good luck with the rest of the musical challenges. As for this, I'm going to just sit here and dig your reactions. Epic trailer to Disney Channel was the best line ever. Dude, you really gotta get into Tudor history after this, the little lines will make so much more sense afterward.
Thank you thank you! 😁 I know a little bit about the Tudors but I do need read a bit more. I'm sure the show gets even better once you know the details

8:39 On the contrary, Howards is lowkey dissing Henry. Whenever she was introducing a different man she would list all of their positives. The only traits she had to compliment Henry on were his height, largeness, and being the head of the C of E
About Anne of cleves portraits she actually did look like her portrait Henry played a trick on her and she didn’t understand because she didn’t speak English and that offended him. She hung the portrait up in her palace

I actually went from Six to learning about the actual history and may have gotten stuck on Anne Boleyn which means I have quite a bit on Catherine of Aragon and a teeny bit on Jane Seymour but truly even though it's my favourite song don't look ur head doesn't do Anne justice at all the key bits being that yes politics were her thing and no she didn't cheat Henry just accused her of it along with treason to have her executed he was then married Jane Seymour only 11 days after Anne's execution there were also about 7 years before the marriage where Anne refused to be a mistress As for Catherine of Aragon yes she was sent from Spain to marry Henry's older brother Arthur but less than six months after the marriage (which was more than likely unconsummated) Arthur died from a disease then for about 7 years she remained in England while her father and Arthur's father were disputing over what would happen regarding her dowry (not a fun time) after Henry's father died and he became king he decided to marry her later he tried to use the marriage to his brother as the basis of the annulment despite having a dispensation from the pope (which is very hypocritical when you realise he had Anne Boleyn's sister Mary as a mistress before he married her and gotten a dispensation from the Pope so he could marry Anne/have her as a mistress) My apologies that got long very quickly

Yes I just went through my spotify playlist and wrote every musical I have in it...
And I so appreciate that Sebastian, you're a rockstar! I can see a lot that I love already on that list and lots that I'm super excited about listening for the first time, so thank you so much, reactions coming soon ;)
*AVENUE Q YES*
I see Kinky Boots on this list and I approve!!
Lmao avenue q was more chaotic than i anticipated
No Anastasia?
Also the fact that is was written by students at Cambridge and now it’s on the west end, broadway, touring, Australia like amazing!!!
Their last song in the musical is "six" and they're talking about their alternate endings if they didn't marry the king
I love watching you react to these musicals. You're delightfully expressive. I'm going to throw Waitress up for your recommendations list. It's one of my favorites, and the music is great, but I don't really hear much about it (it seemed like there were a lot of mega hits that year). And A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is a comedic masterpiece and the singing is insanely impressive... I think I'm gonna go rewatch it right now, actually.
You're a sweetheart! 🥰 I actually already know Waitress. It's one of those that I listened to with no expectations at all and ended up loving the music (not a super fan of the plot though but hey ho). And a new suggestion, thank you! Never heard of that one so will have to check it out
“How historically accurate this is”
Anne Boleyn: 👀👀👀
Fun fact the actresses of Howard and Cleves in the cast recording are dating
Aaaaaaww #PowerCouple
Were
Add to the list:
Matilda
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Spamalot
Evita
Super! Thanks a lot :) I already know and have a soft spot for Matilda
Dear Evan Hansen
Hamilton (they have it recorded on Disney+ btw)
Mean Girls
Legally Blonde
Thanks for the suggestions Brynna. Dear Evan Hansen is already on the list, so coming soon ;) And you can watch my Mean Girls reaction here: czcams.com/video/B5nIX13oaUk/video.html
@@Barbara2.0 Gracias!
Love your reaction!
My recommendation is the musical "Starlight Express". It's really popular here in Germany and I love it so much! It's performed on roller blades.
This musical is such great therapy for me. Howard’s song hits really hits close to home so after a nasty flashback or a garbage interaction I go home and belt out her song.
Im seeing Six this yearr. Eeeek. I met one of the queens form the london one but she won't be in it. She taught me choreo for no way, dont lose ur head, get down and six
Edit : IT WAS SOOO GOOD! AND ONE OF THE QUEENS GOT ENGAGED AT THE VERY NEXT SHOW
One to add to the list, ‘Chicago”
Ok kinda pissed I didn’t see her reaction to Natalies big moment cause it had me shook and she just skipped it
Fun fact: It is possible that Catherine Parr killed Henry with arsenic but pretended to care for him till the end
Didn’t know that!
She almost went the way of Boleyn and Howard and just barely made it to the end by the skin of her teeth. Apparently Henry was already looking for “lucky” bachelorette number 7.
So if that was true, they were both trying to off each other 😂
I didn't know that but now I kinda want it to be true
I kind of want it to be true, just because that's the end that Henry deserved.
I've just come here from the Facebook group, Musicals! I am loving this series! SIX is literally AMAZING! One of my favourite shows! Love finding new theatre CZcamsrs as well!! New sub here:)!
New sub right back at you! I'm loving to meet other theatre lovers too, so thanks for stopping by and watching :D And keep up with the great content!
This show is soooo much better live !! Not that it's not good with just the cast recording, but the interactions between the queens on stage are hilarious !
Now that I've seen it twice I totally agree
Get Down is my fav song, but the "Ignore ze fear..." from House of Holbein is my favorite line in the whole thing. It's so clever.
Spotify has this musical live. Like a live album so you can get more context of the musical. While you dont get all the dialogue, you get Some. And some bonus songs. Plus, how All You Wanna Do is supposed to be actually sang. (angrier and sadder towards the end) PLUS.... Its LIVE. Those amazing vocals LIVE!
If you haven't got this on the list yet, I love Come From Away and The Band's Visit - both of them make me cry every time!
Seconded!
I personally love the musical bandstand its post ww2 and in my opinion is very underrated and unknown
Sounds very much like my type of musical hihi Will definitely check it out, thanks Aly!
8:43 I lost it 😂😂😂😂
Little shop of Horrors is a classic! It might just be me but, I like the 2019 Off broadway cast album better? (sorry lol) But both are BOPs (check out either one next!)
Awesome! It's already on the list so will be doing it soon ;)
You should really see the whole musical because there's a lot of good historical jokes you're missing out on. Here are the link to the full versions on youtube:

On Holbein's portrait being misleading, it's said that was simply his excuse for wanting to divorce her.
As a German person listening to the haus of Holbein is kind of painful 😬
I was listening to this musical in art class one day and and I have a habit of singing to things I know the lyrics to, and I was listening to heart of stone.. apparently I was singing a little bit louder than I thought I was because the guy sitting at his easel in front of me just said quietly "sing it girl!" And I died inside and started laughing. xD
I was jamming to song because it fits my vocal range better than a lot of songs that I enjoy.
Welcome to the channel, Della!!!! 🥳❤
Ok so no ofence to the writers
But
They did Dont Loose Ur Head
Ok so Anne had a lover and had to leave him to marry Hennry
She loved politics and actuall Henrry acused her of cheating and said that if she didnt you know get her head chopped off that Elizabeth would not be able to get the crown.
The real reason Anne of Cleaves was divorced is, Henrry pretended to be somone eels and came to "rescue" her like in the British tales but, she German and didnt know them so she was reasonably frightened and it embarrassed Hennry and you know the story from here.
You probably already knew this
(I cannot spell sorry)
Recently found you, and your reactions are hilarious! Congrats on the now 149 subs!
Yay thank you so much! And welcome to the channel ❤
Another musical to add to the list:
"Lucky Stiff". It is my personal favorite, but finding a good performance of it can be hard.
Musicals based off history are the way to.study for those.topics. I have learned so much by listening to certain soundtracks.
Such was six, hamilton, come.from.away,.and hadestown.
Hey ever heard the Phantom of Opera? If you haven’t heard the soundtrack, please do a reaction.
Hey Crystal, Phantom is one of my favourites actually ❤ I might start a series of musicals I know though haha
HA!
CAN YOU DO A REACTION TO THE LIGHTNING THIEF (aka Percy Jackson) MUSICAL!!? 🎧
Sure can! It's on the list 😉
Barbara 2.0 yassssss thanks so much- love your content, and I’m so glad I found your channel
Right back at you lovely, happy you're here!
Barbara 2.0 😁
No way: THERES NO WAY YOU CAN EVERY REPLACE ME!
Dont lose ur head: So about that....
I’m a year late but Come from away? The soundtrack is like listening to a musical audiobook and the story is amazing
8:39 nooooooo!! 😂💀
This is a fairly accurate representation of most people hearing this for the first time 😂
I alwast asume I wouldn't like a musical. Then I actually watch it and get OBSESSED with it
8:42 yep. My screaming
Can you react to 36 Questions?? It's a severely underrated podcast musical (yes, podcast musical. the whole musical is free to listen on Spotify 👀👀) and the songs r rlly ugh 😔👌👌
That sounds interesting! I'll look it up, thanks a lot ;D
8:39 On the contrary, Howards is lowkey dissing Henry. Whenever she was introducing a different man she would list all of their positives. The only traits she had to compliment Henry on were his height, largeness, and being the head of the C of E
My kids are going to see it when she runs the New York Marathon this fall.
About Anne of cleves portraits she actually did look like her portrait Henry played a trick on her and she didn’t understand because she didn’t speak English and that offended him. She hung the portrait up in her palace
your reaction was so freaking enjoyable
Thank you so much! I'm really happy you enjoyed it 🥰
Heart of stone was Jane Seymours song and she was his favourite wife
Musical in line w Historemix theme: Something Rotten
It's on the list! ;)
8:41
this caught me off guard so much 💀
Did y’all know that Henry 8th banned pillows for everyone except pregnant women. He was an anti pillowist. I know that cause I was gonna die a research paper on the pillow through the ages in high school because of my love of pillows I kinda know most everything about pillows
8:43 omg🤣
I'm not sure that the plot twist at the end of Katherine Howard's song was a good one for her: she was beheaded.
Also, check out the Musical Splaining Podcast
First video I've seen of you and already really like your energy/personality also if you haven't already do the following musicals please: The Prom, Wicked, School of Rock, Matilda, 35mm: The Musical Exhibition and Newsies; I'm gonna say this though this musical really works better live there's a lot of funny/story important dialogue that gets cut in the album (especially in I don't need your love where SPOILERS
It is revealed to have been a fake competition the whole time really interesting stuff also all of the introductions are amazing but special mentions go to Howard for the epic roast she gives and Boleyn for literally being sung about by the other queens)
Aw thanks a lot for your kind words Melanie, really appreciate it 🥰 I already know Wicked and Matilda but will add the other to the list, cheers! Really hope I can see this live, planning to try an get tickets
You should also listen to the cast album of the Groundhog Day musical. Pretty much everyone already knows the plot, and it’s by the same composer who wrote the music for Matilda the musical (which you should also definitely listen to)!
I actually went from Six to learning about the actual history and may have gotten stuck on Anne Boleyn which means I have quite a bit on Catherine of Aragon and a teeny bit on Jane Seymour but truly even though it's my favourite song don't look ur head doesn't do Anne justice at all the key bits being that yes politics were her thing and no she didn't cheat Henry just accused her of it along with treason to have her executed he was then married Jane Seymour only 11 days after Anne's execution there were also about 7 years before the marriage where Anne refused to be a mistress
As for Catherine of Aragon yes she was sent from Spain to marry Henry's older brother Arthur but less than six months after the marriage (which was more than likely unconsummated) Arthur died from a disease then for about 7 years she remained in England while her father and Arthur's father were disputing over what would happen regarding her dowry (not a fun time) after Henry's father died and he became king he decided to marry her later he tried to use the marriage to his brother as the basis of the annulment despite having a dispensation from the pope (which is very hypocritical when you realise he had Anne Boleyn's sister Mary as a mistress before he married her and gotten a dispensation from the Pope so he could marry Anne/have her as a mistress)
My apologies that got long very quickly
I need to see your reaction to the broadway recording !!!
Pippin is good, it's a must watch though. There is a lot going on
Listen to the live broadway alblum its sooo good
important information about christine! when she said no to jeremy the first time, it was because he asked her out the night her boyfriend (jake) cheated on her with chloe (girl in the baby costume)
Oooooooh now that clarifies things! Only listening to the soundtrack is dangerous hahaha Thanks!
hold up why did this comment show up on the wrong video im so confused
Hello, I'm back to enjoy this wonderful video and also drop a few more musicals that I forgot from my comment on the last video
Bare A Pop Opera
Shrek
Aida
Ok, that's it for now. Until your next video, when I inevitably have even more to suggest than before
Brilliant! I've heard great things about Bare, can't wait to check it out. Thanks again Michael! And keep them coming ;D
3:33
Her fave yelled "Uh oh"
Twisted
You really need to see the whole thing. It's just savage one liners and clap backs.
Oh I have! There's a vlog on the channel of the first time I saw it if you're interested ;) And already have my ticket for next year
Soooo uhh I just noticed your copy of Alice in Wonderland in the background (I have the same version heh). Have you heard of Alice by Heart? It's a very unique take on the source material (not a direct adaptation, but instead about of a young girl projecting herself onto Alice and using Wonderland to work through her frustrations) and the music is INCREDIBLE.
A few people have mentioned it, I'll have to check it out. Thanks, love!
@@Barbara2.0 yay!! Hope you like it
"My heart of stone.......
WELCOME TO ZE HAUS
THIS!! THIS IS ME!
There should be one of these for Hamilton.
About K Howard's story, I've heard that her second man actually loved her ? Like, they loved each other and if it wasn't for her parents, they may have been happy together ? Like ... It's still awful, but at least we know that she at least ONE "good" relationship, right ?
I'd love for you to react to hadestown!
Good news, I have! Here's a link: czcams.com/video/acnQlqdyIsg/video.html
My favorite is don't lose your head

I need snacks!
Jane Seymour died in childbirth fyi.
JS not quite childbirth, but passed away ‘due to postnatal complications less than 2 weeks after the birth of her only child’. 😢.
React to Ordinary Days!!!
