My friend came across this video and sent it to me and I was SO NERVOUS. These types of videos always make me antsy but you were so incredibly kind and very thoughtful with your responses! Thank you for all the kind words and thoughtful critiques! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your videos 💖😊
ANNA!!!! I just wanted to let you know that you are such a awesome singer!!!!!
Your singing is sooo beautiful! Just wanted to let you know I'm a big fan :DD
I’m so glad you saw this! I loved listening to your voice!💗💗
Anna this was amazing! I’m a new fan for sure
Yes, me too, I just want to say that I love your voice and covers!!

Also yeah, Kathrine Howard had a horrifying life. She essentially grew up in a glorified brothel. She married Henry when she was around 17 and he was in his 40's. He ended up killing her because she wasn't a virgin which was completely out of her control.
I thought it was because she couldn't have kids??
@@brycenmayer7686 that was Anne, he killed her because she couldn't have boys
If I remember Anne was beheaded because of treason
He killed her for that reason and because she cheated on him which is a stupid
@@tristyncreates4861 Those were false allegations. He wanted to get rid of her because she couldn't carry a boy baby to term, and Henry wanted to be with Jane Seymour.
who's gonna tell her that this song is about a girl being sexually groomed and preyed upon by the guys in her life since she was a child
This is my first time hearing the song and it was quite obvious. Poor girl :(
I hope she got a happy ending in the musical
@@latia876 Well in the musical I guess kinda, but I mean in real life she got beheaded at like 19. Poor thing.
Latia876 in the musical they changed their endings and she ended up rejecting her music teacher’s seducing, and went to learn all she could about singing/music in general. Sadly, in the real history, she was beheaded at 19.
she knows now i’m pretty sure she researched it
@@latia876 it’s a true story, it’s our English history, Henry the 8th was a cruel man ! It’s very interesting
Poor Katherine Howard died at 19. Didn’t even reach her twenties. Plus, she died in such a horrible way. She was also cousins with Anne Boleyn who, years earlier, met the same fate as her. Also, Katherine was beheaded because she committed adultery with one man, but Henry was allowed to have many mistresses. She was also reported to have spent the night before her execution practicing placing her head on the chopping block. And it’s not like she had a great life before that...
Edit: her exact age isn’t confirmed, but it is widely believed that she was about 19 at the time of the beheading
E. Maeve yep
@@maveis6192 p sure they were all related one way or another 😂
E. Maeve yeah, and then Jane was also their cousin (2nd cousin I believe)
We actually don't really know her exact age but you are correct that she probably married Henry around the age of 17 and was beheaded around the age of 19.
she married henry at 15 and died at 17
Hannah is too pure for this song, I love her reactions
😬
Hannah Bayles lol
Well, this is a song telling how Katherine was sexually abused when she was a young child. Katherine was forced to grow up, hence her promiscuity. How she wants to find a true love, not a man that coined on her trauma.
The way she reacted on the Major to Minor... Yeah i would make that reaction, underage is a big no no for me

one of the best performance is the broadway version, that is with the American accent, Samantha Pauly was fantastic on role, and the act performance is very different from the official version. if you haven't seen it, I recommend it.
Broadway: hi
I prefer the British version °-°

kayla spurlock I'm pretty sure she's actually Canadian
Fun fact about Anna : she is actually an Alto! And if you would like to react to more of Anna i would recommend "heart of stone", "I'm still standing", "prince Ali"
Edit: For those confused how I know she is an Alto, on the description for "prince Ali" she says that she is a alto
She also mentioned it a few times on her live streams
SHE’S AN ALTO???
how how how how how I’m so confused
actually it'd be interesting for her to react to prince ali, bc the caption of that video states that 1)belting that high actually damaged her voice as she was very strained for a lot of it and 2)she was only 16 when she recorded it so that had to have been even more damaging
in conclusion super high belting isn't the only good singing kids, especially when it's done unhealthily
Holy heck she is-

@@minceroft3710 I don't think the old version is on CZcams anymore! I'm not completely sure but at least I can't find it. She handled the high note differently in her new cover which she uploaded a year ago!

she was Beheaded when she was about 18!!
And she was used by men at a young age
and when she was being beheaded Henry Ordered a noob swordsman who messed up (It hit her back not her head poor Girl)
With Anne, he ordered The Best swordsman Goes to show the little respect he had for Katherine
Also When Katherine Howard Married Henery He Was almost 50 and Katherine was About *17*
@@kaitlynihm6201 ikr! in my opinion she had it the worst of all the Queens. really she was just a kid who got abused by numerous men and I love how the song illustrates the downward spiral in her mentality (and life tbh she did not have it great) and how damaged she becomes
Katara Lynn her executioner was not skilled, but he did not hit her back, as the myth suggests. Historical accounts usually have very graphic descriptions when a beheading goes wrong, and there's no mention of the sword hitting her back when she was executed. It is probable that it was painful, however, because as I said, the executioner was not skilled.
As that part of her life wasn’t she a god dam minor, like, if only she knew
Hannah looks exactly like philipa Soo when she smiles!

oh ya BTW that high note at "DifferANTTTT" at the end of the songg its supposed to represent her (Katherine Howard) screaming from all the hurt and pain and being used like a toy by all the men in her life thennnn she gets her head chopped off yaaaa "All You Wanna Do" is super dark...Poor K Howard her song always made me so depressed especially when Samantha Pauly Sings it because she actually screams and yells man i love it all the emotion is amazing😩😭💛💔
Yep its dark

Literally no one:
Hannah: *hits a note perfectly and beautifully* guys don’t judge me for that being rough it’s early in the morning.
fr if thats her being a little rusty I would love to hear her all warmed up(that sounded slightly wrong omg)
I could literally write an entire dissertation on how incredible this song is and when you see the show live the choreo only adds to it! It starts out young and playful because she was at 13 when this grown as man is putting moves on her. She was groomed to be this way which is common for sexual abuse victims. Then she goes to live with her aunt and is again approached by a man who “wont take no”! This is the only kind of attention she’s gotten from men and thus thinks it’s positive. When she meets Henry she’s not disillusioned anymore and then she FINALLY thinks she made a friend and was like wow I didn’t know guys could be like this! Then he takes advantage of her too and she gets killed for it. The staging is amazing because the other queens slowly get closer and closer to K Howard during the song and you get this intense claustrophobic feeling it’s beautiful. It’s SUPPOSED to make you uncomfortable. Incredible piece of art!
Not only that but the hands......the hands is what makes it worse.. they put their hands all over her at the end and that’s what breaks me
I now suddenly have the urge to write an essay on this song because of you 😂

this song was always my favourite from six but i didn’t realise the full impact of the song until seeing it live. at the end katherine howard is practically screaming and all the other girls are all trying to grab out and touch her. i genuinely started crying the performance made me rethink the song entirely (that may just be down to jodie steeles phenomenal performance i saw tho 😂)
Yeah the choreo and emotion live really makes the song
YES. I saw a bootleg and the sheer emotion of this song made me cry.

“supreme head of the church of england.” *silence* love hannah’s look when she realizes no more adjectives are coming 😂
The 'ah' in the 'different' I would think comes from the Cockney accent from the original UK version of the song.
the original accent isn't cockney it's just British 😂
my name is reginald george ‘British’ can mean English, Scottish, Welsh etc. Cockney also falls under ‘British’ since it’s from England.
there are also accents from different parts of these countries, I'm English and from the midlands, my voice would be very different from someone from the extreme South, for example 😊
@@whispering_echo heya, I'm English too and the original actress from the cast album is singing with a slight Cockney accent in that song (or let's go with common South London accent which has it's roots in Cockney - maybe Cockney was too strong a descriptor). That flattens the vowels a bit and gives the 'oh' sound a more 'ah' sound. It would make sense then that anyone trying to mimic the original version would sound a bit like that. :)
@@dclore exactly, it just tends to bug me when people say " British accent" because there are so many, I just try to correct people where I can, spread information and such like 🙂
I can’t believe you reviewed Anna I am such a hugeeee fan of her and she’s my main inspiration for singing musical theatre!!
Same here
You should listen to Aimie Atkinson singing it. That woman is so talented
Totally! It’s so weird to me that she chose to listen to an unprofessional cover of it. Don’t know who Annapatsu is, this is okay but the Aimie and Sam Pauly versions blow this one entirely out of the water. This girls high notes sound a little unsupported and some of the melody was sung incorrectly
@@WhenWillMyLifeBeginIf you want to listen to those covers then go listen to them. No one’s forcing you to be here. And talking about melody changes in response to a cover is just weird. A lot of coverists change the melody at certain parts, it’s not about lack of skill: it’s about adding twists to an already known song. And what if her high notes were a bit unsupported? She’s an alto and clearly hitting those high notes already speaks of her years of practice
@@Emihasdreamstoo first of all, the melody changes were not done as riffs or anything with real intent, I wouldn’t have had an issue with that. It sounded like someone who didn’t know the melody very well. And those two I mentioned aren’t covers lmao those are the actual women who played this role
No reason to get so offended by my comment, she put the cover out there and I’m commenting on it. If you love this cover go right ahead! but I didn’t care for it and that’s my prerogative
