You finally inspired me to sign up. Now, whether I ever *do* any of it…
Would you be willing to review free puzzle apps, puzzling is an unfortunately expensive hobby so I’ve been using some apps instead but it’s very hard to find good free ones and I think and actual puzzler would be great to review them :D
Ha!
@@lbird524pllpkppk
I was not ready for Karen calling out my TBR pile, yarn stash, and puzzle stacks at the beginning, she didn’t mention the diamond paintings or cross stitch thread hoard but I can feel them staring at me all the same 😂
Omg!!!! I love that I’m not the only person with puzzles, yarn, books, cross stitch and and diamond paintings stashes 😂🤣
At keast she doesnt know about the 8 giant rubbermaid bins of fabric stash under my bed...
I've found my tribe 😅
Yes and the endless amount of books 😅
Feels haha. Mine is a stack of paint by numbers paintings 😆
In the board game world, it’s highly contentious whether to call it the “shelf of opportunity” or the “shelf of shame”. We all have one 😂
I have transitioned from a board game player to collector 😅
For me, it's not having a stack of books or puzzles, its a whole bunch of DIY projects that sit all over my space🙈 But this video has lit a little fire under me, so thank you😁
You can do it!
Same here. Mostly sowing UFOs (unfinished objects)
But also tons of random other projects.
The production values of Karen's videos are very high. I absolutely loved the "creepy" zoom in on her puzzle face with the slight fade to black-and-white. Her photography during the gradient puzzle was superb. Add Karen's technical abilities to her great personality and we, the viewers, have an enchanting combination that makes watching a joy. Now, let me get back to the puzzle on the table next to me.
It was the hold music when she said "please hold" for me too
Don't forget the timelapse of Karen's puzzle 13:14 👁👄👁
tbh most of this video was hilarious, including the Brilliant advert. Karen is the most wholesome internet troll there ever was.
I love that Bgraamiens is "Brain Games" with the letters alternating from both words.
Wait...waitwaitwait. If I didn't have to pin the sponsor post I would pin this because you just blew my mind.
Wow not even a minute into the video and Karen is attacking my stack of books, my yarn collection and my tower of puzzles. 🤣
Puzzle stack ✅
Reading stack ✅
Knitting yarn stash ✅
Coloring book stack ✅
Nintendo game stack ✅
All the hobbies. All the stacks.
lol she started the video:
if your a reader you have a stack of books TBR: me looking to my right were I have 50 books I need to read.
if your a knitter you have boxes of yarn you haven't used: me looking in my closet where I have 8 tubs of yarn.
if your a puzzler you have a shelf full of puzzles: me having stacks of puzzle everywhere.
also me: I think I have a problem):
I think you have hours upon hours of entertainment ready for you to tackle when you're ready ❤️
Hey, some of us will never get caught off guard by a lock down!!
I’m in the exact same boat.
also hotel: trivago
I’m with you. I have a closet that only has puzzles in it for me to do. I’ve got more bins/boxes of yarn & crochet kits than I’d like to admit. Not to mention the stacks of books that have overflowed the bookcases, we’re not going to mention the books I have on Kindle. it’s not hoarding, it’s planning for the future 😂
I "finally" stacked up some of my "to be read" books into a roughly conical shape, threw lights on it, and it's my bookmas tree. I could probably make a second one using "to be puzzled" boxes! 📚🎄 😁
I had a series of thrift store trips in a couple days and ended up with an overflowing table full of puzzles and kept collecting more afterwards. So i ended up writing them all down on slips of paper and now pull them from a cup to decide which one to do next. It's very exciting to let the jar pick for me lol I've been steadily chipping away at the stack. Only about 70 left to do 😅
can't believe that as a reader-knitter i was ANIHILATED in the first 30 seconds of this video
The puzzle that was a photo of the string artists work is definitely worth $75, especially if you seal it and use it as artwork for a wall in your room decor. I don't say that about just any puzzle. This one is special as it is a photo of a working artists display piece. It was not one commissioned by a puzzle company, where the company is paying the artists by commission or as an employee.
You would definitely be helping the artist continue his work by paying the higher price for the puzzle, IMO.
I know this would be a ton of work, but I would love a video along the lines of "30 puzzle brands in 30 minutes" where you quick fire summarize the key points of your top 30 puzzle brands of the moment.
“Disaster! At the puzzle video” got me LOL
The green "Lucky Lady" is definitely the reprint. In 1987, Sheaffer Eaton's corporate parent Textron sold the division. In response, a new company-- Berkshire Stationery Inc.-- was formed and continued to manufacture some of Sheaffer Eaton's products including the jigsaw puzzles. Also, for the Canadians in the audience, the puzzle publisher Eaton was an American company unrelated to the defunct Canadian department store.
I live in Canada and i was wondering about that. But also New England used to have a rather high French Canadian population (I know this from Genealogy and history) so it makes sense to me that the box was printed in both french and english, just like in Canada.
I'd love to have a semi-regular "show and tell" type series.
A dedicated space for those in-between puzzles that are special nevertheless. :)
I honestly love puzzles with letters on the back. You can sort the letters and do the mini puzzles on a smaller surface. It also makes challenging/repetitive/low resolution images easier to complete.
Booktubers have TBRs, Karen has TBPs. Collective condolences for all the ideas that could’ve been :(
I have both. And I used to make booktube videos until life happened. I also have a To Be Played (unplayed and unfinished games). I think for puzzles a TBS (To Be Solved) would be better btw.
stop spying on me lol! i have boxes and baskets of yarn waiting for me to work on lol😂
This has easily become one of my favorite CZcams subscriptions. My wife and I just love watching how enthusiastic Karen gets about puzzles. Thanks for all the wonderfully fun content, it is appreciated!
Just completed your 1027 piece puzzle and it was so fun to do!
Thank you!
Knitters have a bin? Try a whole 4x4 ikea storage cube + 3 bins. We call it SABLE = Stash Aquisition Beyond Life Expectancy
If one is English and one is French/English. It's probably a second box style for selling to meet Canadian regulations, as we used to have Eaton stores up here too.
Yes, that makes so much sense. I need to look into how many were released with both languages on the box.
I came here to say this as well. It might explain why the back is blank too. They likely didn't want to have to do the French translation, so it may have just been easier to remove the English back
I live in a large appartement building and in the lobby we have a thrift shelve. Every now and again a puzzle appears on the shelve, it’s gone for a few weeks/months and the same puzzle reappears. This continues until the puzzle disappears. Who are the puzzlers in my building? I feel no need to find them. We form anonymous community all working on the same puzzle. I really love it!
I'm FINALLY de-lurking to remark on the Gabriel Dawe gradient puzzle. I get all sorts of enjoyment from your videos, mostly the tranquility you offer and the satisfying sense of completion. I love your excitement, but this is my very first time of seeing you complete one that left me in awe. That gradient puzzle came together so beautifully, my jaw dropped. It's definitely one I would want to complete.
I'm glad you answered as to who else received the other 2 Karen Face puzzles. When I saw the 3 on the table when you first showed it, I needed to know! Such a fun way to film it - the slow-mo creep into your eyes had me cackling.
Thanks for the good time as always - peace and love to you!
Im a serial hobbyist and serial project abandoner 😭
I have a knitting project from 2012 i still haven't finished, a chest full of quilt tops that just need to be backed and quilted, a shelf of unread books, and countless other diversions I've foresaken 😢
And maybe that's ok! Maybe you got everything you needed out of the process and don't need a finished product.
@@KarenPuzzles yes! It's definitely a fun way to stay occupied 😁
PS the Puzzlelove Mycophile puzzle is gorgeous! Definitely going on my Xmas list 🧩🍄
I'm currently working on a puzzle that's been sitting on a shelf for a while. It's taking me so long to do but I'm glad that I'm working on it. In case anyone wants to know which puzzle it is it's the Bepuzzled Impossibles aww... sleeping puppies puzzle. It's 1000 pieces with no edges and 5 extra pieces that don't fit.
I picked up 4 Carnovsky puzzles this year, and have one left to do. They're a lot of fun! I tend t to stick to the red and green glasses though. The blue glasses help you see the yellow layer, but it's just not dark enough to show up clearly amid the brighter layers. Also, kudos to the manufacturer for their paper packaging!
I get most of my puzzles from Goodwill (yes, sometimes missing pieces), but more affordable, so I have a shelf full of puzzles to do (as an avid reader, I also have a bookshelf full of TBR books as well). Not sure when they will be complete, but I love having options. Thanks for the content, love your videos!
27:10 - Ah, Springbok. I remember solving these (full-sized) WAY back in the day (1960s!). They had the BEST pieces! I still have my 'Equivocation II' (op-art in green and yellow hues) that my dad gave me for Christmas back in 1965!
... I read, crochet, paint, draw and sing... I have untouched books, yarn, thread, art supplies and sheet music everywhere 😅😂
My husband is in the kitchen cooking and when you said "I completed 6 puzzles.. and added... a lot more" he says "I think she has a problem..*whispers* like you" 😅 I have so many puzzles to do AND a bookshelf full of books to read 😂
I read, knit, and puzzle and I’m feeling called out
That’s a beautiful puzzle. Very impressed with your time completing it! Lovely to see you back ❤️🇬🇧
That was fun 🎉. Than you for your hard work putting Thea videos together. 💕 Watching while quilting. Haven’t been puzzling lately but I try to not miss any of you videos. The competition was great too😊
So glad to see more puzzles and reviews......I loved your championships edits but missed your puzzling videos. As normal it was fun and great........love watching you. ❤
I try to do a variety of videos on this channel. Something for everyone 🙂
So happy to see all of your success with this channel Karen.
"If you're a reader, I bet you have a big stack of books that is your To Be Read pile. If you're a knitter, I bet you have a basket of yarn you have not used. If you're a puzzler...." YES YES and YES. Thanks for calling me out, Karen. 😅
I liked the variety of this video. Diving into a to-do-list, multiple puzzles, mini puzzling thoughts/reviews, puzzles sent by viewers, etc.
For me it's quilts. I have all the fabric to make multiple quilts. It's actually making (and finishing!) them
Just one stitch at a time 🪡
Quilting is puzzling!
This video had me smiling the whole time. That there could be a puzzle out there you couldn’t tackle if you wanted to just doesn’t exist. But completely understand when you have to balance life, work and puzzling, some parameters need to be given. It’s why I’ve added 500 piece puzzles to my collection. 😊
My problem now is that I want to save all the 500s for speed puzzling practice!
Those holiday puzzles would be on my table in a heartbeat!! Yes, please!❤
I just discovered your channel and I am really enjoying it. It has rekindled my desire to start puzzling again. I just purchased your Ravensburger puzzle.
I really loved this video, yeah some puzzles are cool enough for an entire video but sometimes puzzles are cool because they're simply cool. Would love to see more of these in the future
It is cool seeing all the new ones you receive. I have about 20 on my shelf and currently working on two.
I absolutely loved this style of video! I dont have a shelf of puzzles to do but I do crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, a bit of quilting and I love to read...this video was quite motivating!!
Always a lovely day when Karen uploads! So many beautiful puzzles in this video. Seems like I can finally start to put together my Christmas puzzle list now :D
It will be so fun to see like a monthly / two months update about those random puzzles!!
I'm waiting for you to finally do some of the vintage Springbok puzzles, and the red and silver maze.
Currently doing the space krypt...its hard but im going through it, thanks for motivation, Karen!
Yes, just pulled out all my Christmas/winter puzzles..I always mean to get to them but never do..maybe this is the year!! Have fun puzzle-ing Karen♡
love watching your videos while doing schoolwork! Finals week is this week and happy to have this video along for the ride!
Hi Karen, I love unboxing videos!!! 🤩😍 I would definitely like to see the whole human body puzzle and also the Christmas ones look so fun!
14:36 That's it. The definitive image that symbolises this entire channel. ♥
I absolutely LOVE the design of that Wallflower puzzle. Let me
see if I can get my hands on it here in the Netherlands!!
Great video again Karen!!
I have one of the Bgraamiens puzzles and I really appreciated the letters on the back side! I used them to sort the sections. Made a difficult puzzle more fun to do.
FINALLY! I really liked this episode and I hope you continue to find time to do small, mini-reviews. It reminded me of STUFF YOU MISSED IN HISTORY CLASS when they do 6 Impossible Stories where they don't have quite enough information for a full episode but just enough for a short.
Love love love the round puzzle that Katie gave you! Beautiful 😍
I loved this style of video! Finally got to see that puzzle spill you hinted at earlier this week
Loved this video, I'm just chilling as I finish up a crochet baby sweater. I have a suggestion if that might be welcome. I'm getting into labels for organizing and it might be helpful for ya to have little paper labels (that live in the box or something not an actual sticker) that says something like
"Obtained/Received: date
From: ebay/person/company/store/etc
Completed: date
Video title (when applicable): title
Video published: date"
the idea of little museum style labels just sounds cute. And with your graphic design bg I can only imagine it would be adorable.
I have all of that info in a spreadsheet!
(Finally) Love all the puzzle images in this video well done except the one from Alex’s house that one not so much. Love the amazing variety of puzzle brands you have in your channels. Thank you for another awesome video!
The zoom on the face 😂😂
I also got the mandala puzzle as a Christmas present a couple years ago and I think I did it on Christmas night😂 it was so fun
Oh my gosh I love this video! I kinda wish you did more in this format and just ran through puzzles you do. I am terrible at following on Instagram so I miss a lot.
For me it's books AND crafts AND art. 😂 I have so many things I want to do and have stacked up to do!!
That Wallflower puzzle was really pretty! I have a lot of puzzles I haven't done yet, but it is mostly because I thought I was moving, so I packed them all away. But plans fell through, but I don't want to unpack them. lol
I cannot wait to see those Christmas puzzles!! They're gorgeous! Must be nice to -finally- get to some of those to-dos! :D
I LOVE the black background Christmas Eeboo puzzle!
Sorry if this has been commented a ton already, but the second puzzle’s brand is Brain Games. The black and red letters alternate the words together. Their challenging designs are meant to be brain teasers so they’re all colorful complicated patterns. Only once have I had to use the letters on the back to finish one (floating numbers), and the Stopwatch one they have is my favorite one.
THANK YOU! I now "finally" know what this means! I have two in my "to be solved" stack and will now move it closer to the top. I have "Magic Tree of Life" and "Blooming Flowers". 99% of my puzzles are from thrift shops. Thank you for this amazing comment! Susie
I'm glad I took the time to read down the comments because I was about to post the same comment about the name! You beat me to it!
I love your videos. I wish you could do more often, but I also understand that you get burn out. This one was fun.❤️🙏🏻
That Puzzle Michelle Wilson one looks gorgeous because of its perspective and fun to do to boot!
I had a nighttime NYC skyline puzzle (a gift from my mother in law) sitting on my shelf for many months. I am FINALLY solving it and filming it for a Timelapse. It is about as painful as I expected. 😂 I loved seeing this variety of puzzles you had let sit for a while!
I have a 4 tier bookshelf with all my 2 do puzzles. Love the car art puzzle.
I like the music you used during the gradient puzzle segment in the middle of the video 🙂
Looking forward to the Lazels puzzle being done! Those are so neat! Code word is finally.
I really enjoyed blooming colour - I bought that one for last Christmas holidays and did it over a day or so in between other stuff. I found the pieces quite unique to their position so was able to do it quite fast. You have reminded me I should get one or two for this holiday tho. Thank you.
The time lapse of the gradient puzzle was really satisfying to watch. It’s beautiful, but the price tag only makes sense to collectors or, like you said, to support the artist.
You talked about the one puzzle that gave you flashbacks to a competition. Do you ever have puzzling nightmares? I get nightmares whenever I spend a lot of time doing one thing, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you do.
I don’t have a lot of nightmares, but puzzling definitely shows up in my dreams! I just had a dream that I came across a 100,000 piece Ravensburger puzzle and I was questioning how I didn’t know about it 😂
For me it’s 2 puzzles, the cat puzzle and the last one you did, the overhead view of the tigers that you said was so hard.
I love the cats too.
I too got this bgraamiens puzzle for Christmas like 3 years ago and I did it right away. LOVED it.
During the Covid shut-downs 3 in our family were doing puzzle tournaments one after another -- we didn't do the *same* puzzle but did random draws of very closely alike puzzles. So it naturally meant every puzzle had two more come with to the collection--including the bgraamiens. Thus, I have a LOT of puzzles now and I've done barely more than a third of them. Although I have done all three bgraamiens
I'm really happy I found this channel. I have your puzzle coming. I'm excited to have it.
Love the video’s, but I think it’s your laugh that keeps me glued😂.
I did the Lines puzzle from Brgaamiens and definitely needed the letters on the back for that one
I have a pile behind me that I’ve been collecting from the thrift store. That doesn’t count the ones on my shelves! I have a stack of 6 Xmas puzzles to do first!
I have about 8-10 un-puzzled puzzles. I know I'll finally get to them eventually!
You were the one who got me to buy that 3-in-1 puzzle with the 3D glasses. I really enjoyed doing it (the ocean one).
This should be a series!
I'm looking forward to attacking my rather high tower of puzzles over the upcoming winter months. There's something so enjoyable about puzzling in the warmth of the house when the weather is wild outside.
I stopped puzzling for a while due mostly to space needs, but i have the last week of this year off from work and I'm thinking about doing one of my unopened ones!
loved seeing you go through your To Be Puzzled list! sadly i don't have any puzzles sitting on the shelves waiting to be done;(
I have a stack of to be puzzled, yarn in multiple places (I knit and crochet), fabric everywhere, and many other craft supplies everywhere else
So glad you’ll be doing Yellow Flash. I did it in college when it first came out. My first adult puzzle. An experience I’ll never forget.
Omg that very same Carnovsky is in my to do pile, too! I should finally get to it, like next year? Also that new Eeboo 12 days of Christmas is too cute!
Yey karen uploaded a new video so i can finally relax 😊
I have the Bridgerton one! It’s actually just started my puzzle journey after watching you for years!
First time watching your videos and yes, I do have a small stack of puzzles to be solved. Have learned so much from your videos! I am definitely a fan!
Your Mom would love your portrait, unique and beautiful. Plus it’s special because it is a jigsaw puzzle of your passion for Jigsaw Puzzles.
My stack of “finally’s” is only 5 or 6 boxes high.
As a wargamer who plays with little models, we have piles of shame which are our unpainted models. In February I painted a model i purchaed in 1993😅
TBR, yarn & crochet hook collection and puzzles over here!
My daughter wants is to start a dollhouse because we are both a little obsessed with miniature things.
*Finally*
The gradient was mesmerizing!
The zoom of your puzzle face at the end of that section :')
Another video from Karen (finally) 😂😂I love your videos and yes I have quite a few puzzles in my studio that I haven’t got around to doing yet- I’m concentrating on my painting at the moment- I get most of my puzzles from a local church charity website where all the proceeds go to a children’s charity in our area so the are all preloved but I would love to do the Mycophile puzzle too - I’ll have to treat myself for Christmas!
