What Exactly Is A Spec Series?

- We often hear the term 'Spec Series' thrown about when discussing series such as Formula 2 and IndyCar, but what does it actually mean?
We know it alludes to the idea that the cars are all the same, but by looking at the results of several championships, the same teams are always on top, why is that?
Does this mean the cars aren't equal?
It's a little more complicated than that.
In this video, I hope to give a quick definition of what 'Spec Series' means, and why the most important part of the package, the team, is often overlooked.

Don’t really like the word ”spec series” as its used to belittle series that clearly are not spec like in this video. If you take the word literally F1 is a spec series. All cars are built to similar regulations, technical specification aka spec. Not much technical freedom there.
