This is awesome. Can’t wait to see what the club sport DD+ is capable of . And I will finally be able to start using my elite V2 pedals my my formula V2.5 wheel. I hope fanatec can put out some steering wheels with screens and backlit buttons . Without costing $1000+
i wish fanatec would create presets for games so you know exactly how the game should feel on your wheel based on their testing and recommendations. so we know what they think things should feel like.
they do for all their wheels and almost all games in fanalab and on their forums! it is really helpful
They do have "presets" / recommended settings. You will find them in the Fanatec Forum
They do... They have Forum posts for Recommended Settings
If you’re on pc, you can also use fanalab to automatically apply settings to the wheel when you launch a game, including fanatecs recommended settings for said title, or personalized settings.
@@Miguel-th3wx and they’re horrendous
Thank you for mentioning sim drifting in your initial thoughts on the wheelbase. Definitely a niche but strong community in the sim market that doesn't get a whole lot of direct attention from manufacturers. Keep up the great work yo.
Any time!
@@randomcallsign fyi, the dd+ doesnt have the license approval from fanatec. Got the email today, canceled my order. Looks like your interview with thomas was a waste of your time mate.
Great overview of the clubsport, I already pre ordered the clubsport plus, and really looking forward to an upgrade from the csl dd. Thanks for the video!😎
This is awesome. Can’t wait to order this and then receive it six months later
I have the GT DD pro with the boost kit. I've played it for hours on end on max settings and it never even gets remotely hot, I love the Fanatec products.
As a sim racing content consumer, I have to say how much I appreciate this 8 minutes of significant contribution.
I have never before heard direct drive technology talked about like this. I know just barely enough about the technology to understand what is being said, but it's enough.
Nobody else is talking like this when they are promoting their DD hardware. nobody else is using these terms and discussing these matters.
I wish I could do this with every brand
Thanks for another awesome video! I'm even more excited to get this thing in my hands now!
I may finnally get into simracing with this wheel then, hoping you make a review of it!
finally get into ? choice of gear currently available in the market holding you back ? lol
not really, I was already thinking about it when the csl dd came out, and then this happens, thats why im 99% im gonna get on it now. Didnt do it before because Im not spending the money on a logitech/thrustmaster to then get a real hardcore setup@@SaimKhan77
Recently sold my CSL DD 8nm and regretted it instantly, I was looking to purchase it again few days later but Fanatec release this wheel! In thought on whether to get the CSL DD again or preorder the Club Sport DD! looking forward to your review
@ RandomCallsign, great to see the new tech coming through from leading brands, one thing I thought might be an interesting point to bring, why do hardware manufacturers not take steps to increase their market by creating the software to use the hardware, e.g SIM Racing games to perhaps create dominating franchises like ACC or EA did for FPS and now rally driving?
Because theyre not game developers.
Going to pre order the dd+ when available for sure....been saving my pennies for a year now and I'm glad I waited to get into sim racing
Yeah and wait for months to receive a bad unit and then more months for trouble shooting and getting a working product. I've been through this and I cannot tell you clearly enough that Fanatec customer service and quality control is horrible. But you won't even read this or believe what I am saying.
Same for me😁 ordered the dd+ don't think I'll get it this side of Xmas though, they already moved the date back.
@@atticushexcel9567I've done the same and ordered the dd+
I see you are a peeved fanatec owner, from what I've read rightly so their customer service is shocking atm, hopefully these clubsport bases have less trouble as they learned from the DD8nm bases and the Qr2 is definitely an improvement. I'm sure there are plenty of happy fanatec owners out there too, but you are right they need to up their game in Cs in Euro market
No I'm jot a peeved fanatec owner, at least not yet the clubsport + will be my first Fanatec purchase 🤷♂️
What do you reckon would be the best compatible GP & Formula steering wheels in the same price bracket? Thanks and looking forward to the Clubsport DD+!
It’s great to hear the engineer’s thoughts about product development. Usually we get only influencer bla-bla-bla. Thank you👍🏻
Thanks for your video, I have some questions, for a PC user that wont a step up from the csl dd 8nm, is better choose the 15nm even the 12nm? Or the different power don't justify the different price?
To plug in the fanatec steering wheels to the CS DD I have to buy the new qr2 for each wheel? Thank you very much!
There will be a step up, but if its worth while I'm not sure.
As for the qr, if you use the qr2 you'll need to get at least in wheel qr2 as this is not compatible with the old one, but apparently there will be a qr1 version of the csdd
Should we pre-order now, or in few months they will offer Bundles (at least one wheel with QR2 mod + wait for new wave of wheels)?
What kinda extra accessories would i need to run this with their bmw gt2 wheel?
thanks for the video, lovely to hear though I must admit I am still sticking with my CSW for the time being just because the QR stuff is gonna potentially make upgrading an extremely expensive affair let alone the availability of getting stuff at present.
I've pre-ordered the new ClubSport, upgrading from the CSW V2.5 and you're right, it was quite expensive replacing all of the QR's on my wheels and also had to replace and old V1 hub and Wheel. However, once the new motor arrives, I'll sell the CSW with a hub and a wheel which will help recover some of the upgrading costs. Also, Fanatec have confirmed that the new DD will be able to downgrade to QR1. It's only 4 bolts to remove the outer QR2 shaft, and the QR1 version will slide straight on in its place. No electronics involved so it shouldn't be an expensive part. They have also said that this downgrade option will only be available during the 1-2 year transition period, so don't procrastinate for too long or you might miss out.
Curious what size monitors are those ultrawide curved used on f1 sim cockpit in the video

Hi, Thank you for your video, very interesting. in your opinion, for simulation which one will be the best, the new Clubsport DD (or DD+) or a DD2 will still be better? many thanks for your feedback and advice.
Not sure yet. if I ever get the CS DD for review ill check it out
Had no idea that Pierre Gasly was an engineer of fanatec
so they have similar ffb than logitech Ffb ? separate vibration from audio ?
Perfect timing! Few weeks ago i was nearly to order a fanatec csl dd. And now...few days ago Fanatec announces the Clubsport DD/DD+. Or should i go to moza R9?
Wait for reviews
I am almost sure that they will have a Podium DD3 (or whatever the name will be) with 25Nm by this time next year. They got the technology figured out. It‘s just a matter of sales strategy: they will want people to buy the CS DD(+) now and then to upgrade next year, when the Podium DD3 (+) comes out. At least that’s what I would do if I was in their shoes…
Who is upgrading $1000 and $1700 wheelbases every year?
@@mrs_radrod Well, there‘s people who spend $15.000 and more on a rig. Of course they might also sell their CS DD for good money. It‘s not that much of a stretch.
I really find no need for anything higher than say 12-15Nm. I guess maybe if your rig is strictly an F1 setup...maybe then...
@@advanceddarkness3 Broken thumbs are part of my personality
Racers spend $1500 a weekend on tires. A wheelbase that only depreciates 30% is like free to them.
I hope theres a way to convert my old Esport Formula V1 wheel to accommodate the new quick release. If the clubsport is that good I'll stay on the Fanatec ecosystem. I originally have plans to save some money and buy a La Prima to replace my belt Csl Elite.
Hi, I'm wondering to buy dd plus base + qr2 pro adapter. Is it necessary to buy special rim to have benefits of full force feature? I wanted to have bmw gtv v2 rim and i don't know is it suitable for that base.
You need a rim compatible with the qr2
also, i beleive that the clubsport dd plus ill have a qr1 option.
@@randomcallsign tjanks you for answer. bmw gt v2 rim is compatible with qr2 i suppose. My question was is that rim with qr2 adapter and ddpro base will be enough to have fullforce.
Full force is a wheelbase feature that will happen regardless of qr and it's dependent on the games to have it.
Is the vibration as good as trueforce?
The temp control sounds good, have 2 120mm fans strapped to my R9 atm. Looks fucking horrendous but does the job lol.
Seriously impressive. Now i'm left here wondering if i should switch my dd1 for a ClubSport DD+ when it comes out, or if i should hold onto my dd1 and wait what they have in store for future podium bases
I am in the same boat. I think I am going to wait until the podium refresh. This will give time for game developers to implement the full force…

Personally, I’m not entirely convinced of RC’s synopses that this new CSW can put perform a DD1. There’s a few things you need to take into account when listening to his opinion.
- of course Fanatec was going to have him testing the CSW at full-tilt settings.
- having said that, what is RC’s daily driver, and how much torque is he running? If he’s running a DD Pro as his DD, then of course this will feel incredibly stout. If he’s running a DD1, albeit turned down to 10-12nm…then same thing…of course the CSW will feel stronger.
I’m also not exactly sold in the true force/full force technology. It really is up to the game devs to implement it. And if the PC devs are going to be the ones that implement it, then might as well go with bass shakers IMO. FWIW, my DD1 vibrates my entire rig, but I do have the torque turned all the way up with natural damping turned way down.
As far as the NM’s ramping up quicker than a DD1? I mean…I guess. But we’re talking about MILLISECONDS here. Milliseconds. I’m just not sold that it’s as noticeable as they say. Hell, you could manipulate how fast the wheel “feels” like it ramps up in the tuning menus between the damping, FEI, interpolation and friction settings.
The one thing that does appear to be an improvement however, is the cooling. My DD1 gets uncomfortably hot. So much so that I bought a computer fan with speed control, and taped it to the exhaust side of my base to aid with cooling. It’s helped immensely!
I run a dd1 as a daily. I'd rate the asetek Forte that I have for review over it, and I'd rate the csw at the same level as the forte. The ramp up is noticeable and is felt as less dampening on the shaft, something that is a staple on the dd1.
If its worth a change from the dd1, well I don't think so. As someone coming in new to the system, the csw is my choice, easy.
@@simplejackenduroyou must be hammering it..😂😂 mine doesn't even get warm.!
Should I buy this or get the Moza 12nm?
Ps: i already have a fanatec setup, v3 pedals, formula v2 and a 8nm dd ps5/pc.
If i were to get the moza (since it’s pc only), I’ll still use my fanatec for my ps5 if i ever want to play gt7
I'd say this
Randomcallsign's live mic is on another level! Holy cow he sounds clearer than the web-chat feed. What mic are you using?
its a comica vm20, but ai is doing the processing
There is a reason why the dd and dd+ were highlights they are that damn good. The dd+ has become my favorite base of all time. Also the 15nm feels like its 22nm. Its crazy.
Also the overshoot is false there graphs shows the overshoot going to 25nm. There own graph which is how they rated there dd1 its why the dd+ feels stronger. It really is powerful.
It was shockingly strong when I got it. Fanatec does not use thw word peak they use ovrrshoot others say 17 or 18 or 20nm max or peak and thats the overshoot. Its why this base will surprise people. Peak actually isnt the overshoot but all other brands seem to use the word peak when its not.
Pretty nice to see how clubsport dd will fight with simagic in terms of drifting 😊
Great Interview!
looks like the QR design on new DD+ will support shaft extension in the future
Looks fantastic. Now we just need a genuine refresh of their formula wheel design.
Im waiting for a formula wheel with built in screen like moza did..
@@jajantona Isn’t this going to be less likely with VR growing as well? Or is it still a tiny minority that uses it?
@@theglitch312 i have vr for a while but it’s still very niche. Als many companies still can’t get a decent implementation done, so for example with F1 23, I will stick to monitor. Only iRacing and AC/AMS do it decent
@@jajantona Man I remember it took me 2 days of fidgeting with settings and Googling around just to get good looking steady 90fps out of my 2070S on F1 22… So yeah, I can imagine that the cost and time investment to get it up and running on non-top spec PCs is way too much for most.
I pre ordered the 12nm version, i hope i don't regret it
I've ordered the Asetek Forte bundle, but not I'm seriously contemplating to cancel the order and get the ClubSport DD. Not sure if I should pull the trigger on the Fanatek DD, hearing lots of good stuff on the Asetek Forte.
both are extremely good. buy based on what you need. at a certain point any choice is technically well made. I have a forte for review and I like it too.
Good to hear buddy! Which would you personally go with and why? The Asetek Forte bundle or the ClubSport DD? The forte has 18nm compared to the 12nm from the DD, which is to be noted.@@randomcallsign
id go for the fabatec due to console compatibility and ecossystem. the choice is personal and may not make sense for everybody.
Go Asetek because your buying something Fanajunk dont have which is customer service a better product and less headaches overall. Dont under value that fanatec cant even answer emails on there customers that have invested with them there leaving people hanging just go to there forums you will see im not making this up how bad there treating customers right now.
I have a fanatec csl dd 8nm, do the csw 12nm or 15nm worth the upgrade? I think that asetec has a best encoder, fabatec has a hall sensor
I wish Fanatec would release some higher end pedals. The ClubSport V3 pedals still leave something to be desired compared to Sprints
Debating if I should just get the CSL DD since it is my first Sim racing kit or just pay the extra and get the newer model. Will be much more expensive since I need to purchase the QR2 adapters and such.
I have the csl dd and I’m thinking of buying the new one so I say you should buy the new one
Is it possible to use it on a desk? I am a little worried about my desk ahaha
well, yes. but should you though
what formula rig is this? is it on the market?
I use a DD1 podium on my console rig and a Asetek forte on my pc rig. Im deffo selling my DD1 for the DD+ for my console rig and maybe just maybe go back to having one rig for both
I guess for Fanatec his Clubsport brand is very important so I expect this wheelbases to be top notch. I am going to need hypnotherapy sessions to convince myself that my T300 is good enough until I can afford to upgrade 😄
do you know if it has the same mounting as the CSL DD?
Yes
awesome thank you @@randomcallsign
This saves me a bunch of cash as I was about to switch ecosystems…nice!

It would be a crushing upgrade.
What he said
How is this better than dd1? From what i understand a firmware update is all dd1 needs to have same features with more Nm... Am I right?
Can you change the QR2 to a QR1 as i own quite a few wheels with the QR1 and changing all of them to a QR2 Quick release will be a massive roadstop foe me considering this wheel
Don't know
@@randomcallsign Yeah would be an awesome thing to know since I’d love to buy the wheelbase been holding off on upgrading my csl elite for quite some time. I heard on some video that you can undo the screws on the base and there may be a qr1 base underneath but not sure hence I asked the question

1:50 actually that's not accurate, the CS DD+ has a slightly faster Slewrate than the regular CS DD. This can be seen in the graph on the webshop page of the Plus version where the Slewrates of both are shown and the Plus version reaches more torque at 1ms.
Is 12nm enough or should wait for the 15nm?
12nm is enough for most people. If you drive a lot of classic race cars with no power steering you might want the 15nm to get a more authentic experience.
I don't know if should get this or the dd1 I have a csl dd 8nm version atm
this. forget about the dd1
I would wait for the real DD1 follow up in 1-2 years. This base is just the filler for the gap between yours and the DD1/2
@@randomcallsign can I ask why and do you think I need the 15nm to notice a good difference
the 12nm were super good. id rather have the 12nm over the dd1 20.
Most sim racers only use 12-14nm of their monster torque wheel bases anyway, it's the sweetspot.
is it better than a simucube 2 sport ?
Did u get this wheel base for review?
No
@@randomcallsignthat’s disappointing would have like to see u review this. Really thought they would have sent u one.
Looks so good can’t wait for the review.
How long will we be waiting for the the likes of gt7 to implement it into the game?
5:11 They're working with the game devs of iRacing and GT7 right now, so hopefully very soon.
@@Nathaniel_Wu I’d hope it would be soon. No point in people buying this and having to wait 2 years for this function to work. At that stage u will have even better technology on the market. This function is what makes this a game changer and will be the reason most upgrade from csl dd and dd pro.
Some are saying a couple of years to implement this into games which is ridiculous if so.
I wanna see how reliable that wheel will be and how competent customer service is
THIS is what ive been waiting for someone putting it on camera properly haha - GET this, REVIEW this, CASH those views, and affiliate if you can ; ) first to this video done right will certainly capture a new market of viewers researching the "best of 2024" and upgraders interested in this type of Nm. Anything above this class is HIGH and high end$ but for someone who knows they play enough to justify a good upgrade this will likely be me.. $$$ price in canada im sure will still be mad but if QC is decent on this, it will be a hit (PS capability is big for couch/PC people that want to have both access) and thats me!
My moza R9 gets pretty hot after like an hour depending on what kind of game I’m playing. It doesn’t get unbearably hot tho and I found that keeping a small fan constantly blowing on the base will keep it from getting warm even after hours of playing without the FFB being turned down. This base has definitely piqued my interest but I don’t think I’m ready to go into the fanatec ecosystem plus I hear their customer support is pretty bad so I think I’ll just stick to moza.
Go with simagic alpha mini, just got mine a week ago with the gts wheel, very good experience so far
@@Turbonuotti well I’ve been having a good experience with my moza r9 but if I get a new base I definitely want something with more power.

@@Jonrichdelacruz TLDR just go with the one you want, you will have great time on either one of them
I think it comes down which ecosystem you are willing to dive in, and are you playing console or pc. Both bases are defenitely good but for me the simagic quick release and the small size of the base added with top build quality were the tipping points to get simagic over other brands, also console incompatibility is not an issue for me playing only pc titles.
I run my alpha mini at 70% ffb and lowering the car ffb about 10% in iracing and the force is strong and detailed after everything is tuned to my liking in sim pro 2 ( simagic software) There is information online that alpha mini puts out 13nm peak and 10nm consistent, please don't trust me on this 😆
Also to add i felt like if i am going to spend +1000e to what is essentially a toy, it better feel and look like a +1000e toy and for me Fanatec just didn't do that
Just do a ton of research watch reviews and read forums, i am sure you will be happy what ever you decide to get 😄

But for me, it's the adjustabilty of Logis pedals which are the clincher.
I have a DD Pro as well (separate rig), and the pedals were a pain in the arse to setup and install.
Good luck getting one !! 😂😂😂
will they make a dd+ without ps compatibility?
no
@@randomcallsign well shit
I wasn't a fan of it when I tried it, there was a weird artificial clatter that was distracting. Maybe the settings were off, idk. It's not anything groundbreaking for sure from my test, feels like just another 12nm base at least competing with Asetek, but no competition for Simucube and Asetek in the high torque market. But usually the 12nm is at a decent price, the 15nm is way too expensive and has a Sony licence premium that PC and Xbox users must pay, so only an option for PS5 gamers really.
That would probably be the ‘force effect intensity’ setting. The DD1 does it too when turned up too high
I disagree, say what you want about Fanatec but they still dominate the majority of Sim market especially the console gaming side which the Asetek & Simcube,Moza etc.cannot compete with.and let’s admit it 80 to 90% are usually casual racers, means console gamers,or they just want the best of both worlds, and the fact that it’s affordable anyone can get it.Why do you think everytime you go to their website most of their popular products always sold out/preorder? So all your yapping stuff about Fanatec being "number one in the game"
Need to be reconsidered, because Fanatec doesn’t care that much of their customers specially when they closed the call service and take 15 days to answer to a mail.
Thousands of their clients have problems, they still have the balls to post daily on instagram, annonces new products like QR2 and Clubsport DD bases. Without releasing an official statement.
A short video from the CEO himself, would have done it,
They never have the goal to ease the customers waiting for weeks with no information from them.
So you need to calm down with your fanboyism.

There are two types of Simracers, those who havent dealt with Fanatecs customer service, and those who have. Though it is an inevitability that all the former will become the later.

@@randomcallsign would not be a reason to buy it so? Over the gt dd pro if the power didn’t concern u. Couple of years seems mad to be honest I really hope not.
If everthing is same inside we ask the true force for gt dd pro too ❤
Apparently this can't ever be rolled out to CSL DD, DD Pro and Podium because of "technical limitations".
He was talking about the motor design being the same, which really it isn't, it has another row of magnets and more copper windings, slightly arrayed magnets to reduce cogging, and a different shaft, no doubt differences in pcb also, it is likely that full force requires another computer chip which would mean gt dd pro can't support it.
I wish fanatec would get better distribution for North America. With shipping ans duties, they end up more than other comparable bases.
Can't buy anything Fanatec until they sort out their abysmal service, I would suggestion the same to others too.
After buying a dd2 & qr2 combo 🥴🥴🥴.
I’m not sure about the whole “working with developers” aspect when it comes to Fanatec. Polyphony Digital, which is an official partner, still doesn’t support the vibration motors on the V3s for example.
They do on the brake. My concern would be how long will it take the likes of poli to implement it.
@@davidcupra4913 the brake vibration isn’t controlled by the game, it’s just a hard-coded vibration after a set amount of brake force. PD didn’t implement this - it works even if no game is running.
@@crkvend true. Works better in acc.
This full force tech is a replacemnet for the vibration motors, so every wheel will support it, almost every game, thats y poly havent integrated the vibration, cus this is 1000× more advanced, and will be supported by alo more stuff.
@@Sideways_Singh none of what you wrote is correct nor makes any sense. GT7 was released 1.5 years ago, no way were they waiting. Furthermore, FF2, just like Logitech TruForce, is about haptics through the wheel. Is has nothing to do, nor does it replace, pedal vibration.
What makes you people just blurt these things out so confidently?
I guess I’d get the 15nm one if my DD1 broke, but if I was buying a whole new setup I’d go with Asetek because they let you use any wheel you want now, with standard USB pass through on the quick release (and a standard USB hun on the back of the wheel, for other peripherals). I’m tired of waiting for Fanatec to release a wheel with a screen when everyone else has had them for years now. This new wheelbase looks good in isolation, but it’s not solving any of the actual problems we have with the DD1, and the new vibration stuff may turn out to be a wet fart, or may already be better done via SimHub and bass shakers.
Lets hope they put big effort into customer services as a priority, fanatec customer service is the worst right now . Not even going to talk about the delay from ordering and taking cash to delivery time . Get your customer service interaction sorted fanatec
CS DD/DD+ look like they'll be great products. Just hope you don't have an after-purchase issue, because Fanatec doesn't give a damn about you once they've gort your money.

The only way i see that fullforce thing taking off with games is if they make it open source this whole each company working with developers on their proprietary implementations is just not going to work.

Interesting is that the guys from iRacing are very interested. I personally don’t like the FFB from iRacing at all…
Try FEI 0 and INT 6.
@@hugov836so no intensity and a huge amount of interpretation. Sounds like the dullest ffb setting.
@@lugs118FEI is a low-pass filter. It cuts off the higher frequencies (harsh clonks). You don't lose any information about the grip level.
1× ClubSport DD Table Clamp €99.95 * : LOL
well the CSL DD was everything nice from reviews back then. smooth etc. but then not so. I hope for them. as for me I only sticked with the pedals. good luck fanatec.
never a better time to get a DD1 tbh
from a savings point of view, absolutely. also, thanks for 8 years a sub!
its the worst time to get a dd1 now
It would and it was my plan til I saw the used prices... the people are out of their mind wanting to get still 800€ for a used dd1 without the qr2 shaft, when you can buy a new one for 1k€ including the shaft upgrade and a warranty
Why does no content creator discuss the issues with Fanatec's customer service and shipping complications?

dd2 or dd+ ?
dd plus i think
@@randomcallsign thanks … even dd2 for 799 and dd+ 999?
Cs plus has ps5 support. Do you need that? Torque isn't everything. I've tried the cs 12nm and have the dd1, I prefer the cs.
But that's me, I tried it like 30m, might not be your experience.
thank you !! i will go with dd + . On pc dont need that ps5 support but the extra 3 nm ( dont know if its worthed) @@randomcallsign
blame on me that I play on GT7 only..as this wheel will be useless with it as it is my current ddpro with 8Nm and due to the poor FFB accuracy provided by the game itself ...if only Fanatec who sell DDpro wheel as the GT7 "game official" could only convince PD to do something about it, I would be buying this new PS version immediately...
Is 12 Nm enough?
maybe, i dont know if it is to you
@@randomcallsign I never used a DD before, I’m coming from a csw 2.5 so I don’t really know if I should go for the DD or DD+. Is 12 Nm enough for you?
Yes it's enough for me. I leave my dd1 and asetek Forte at around 10 and it's plenty
@@randomcallsign ok, thank you for the reply and the great video!
does Remco Evenepoel work at Fanatec now😂
Does it able to simulate half clutch hold feedback ?
If not nothing game changing
Max verstappen if he was an engineer
idk. ever since the initial launch of the csl dd. Fanatec has left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. It always seems to me that Fanatec has this habit of releasing products with glaring issues in hopes that people will deal with, then sell you a solution to the problem 2 years later to take more money from those who couldn't afford the initial large pay up of higher end models. Many people are hyping this motor up but then again, its fanatec, of course they would. can't wait to see the inevitable shipping delays, qc problems, shit qr implantations, and other issues that will come when actual consumers get their hands on the product instead of cherry picked youtubers and influencers.
