For the add a fuse did you locate the power side or just install it? Because a add a fuse needs to be oriented correctly for proper functionally. Thanks

No such thing as stupid question… the engine compartment fuse has to go back in, only fuse your installing the add a fuse is on the inside fuse box (IGN No 2)

How would you wire up the switch if you didn't use a relay, and they weren't going thru the fuse box, but battery positive? The LED lights don't draw a lot of power, so the fuse on the switch should be enough (I'll put an inline fuse between the switch and battery just in case)? So if you have the red and black wires coming off the lights, with the red / black / yellow / green wires off the switch, which ones would go where? I know one switch wire has to go back to battery positive, one to ground, and one to illuminate the switch, but which ones, and what do you do with the "leftover" wire?

Thanks for the video I have the same raptor light to install with a switch on my 4Runner TRD pro 2023. but it's come with a 15 AMP fuse to put at the ignition in the fuse box. when I put just the 10 AMP fuse come with the car the engine don't want to start at all. I put both 15 and 10 AMP the raptor light and the engin work very well. Should I leave it with the 15 AMP or buy a 10 AMP? I waiting for your advice.
Are you using the correct fuse… either way never increase the amperage on a circuits fuse ( that could cause an electrical fire).
Would you recommend caulking the seams of the raptor lights? My cali raised didn't make it two months before it got moisture inside so now I am in talks with them to send a replacement.
Yeah, it’s a shame but, extra measures are needed to get these things to last.

I noticed the wiring harness in the description is a 2 lead harness. Looks like you only used one for the raptor lights. What did you do with the other lead?

Okay so I attempted to install my raptor lights except I chose to keep the red power wire on my battery terminal and just feed the relay wires thru my fire wall, "disappointed" in my install because it won't turn on. I know I did something wrong but I just don't know what it is. It's passed my bed time so I will test the fuse on the relay in the morning, because I also have to install my ditch lights.

Any reason why you used a relay? The 3 Raptor leds can't draw hardly any current. You should be able wire from the interior fuse block to the switch and go directly from the switch to the leds.
This is very true, but it’s better to be safe then sorry. Besides it’s super easy to add it to the circuit. (What I showed everyone is an automotive circuit the way your car comes from factory)
And yes I could have ran the power source from the engine bay, but I much rather keep that fuse box completely closed to the elements. 😉

It all depends on your goals for it… a lot of options out there. 🤷🏼♂️
I used to build off road vehicles and do not recommend lifting. If you do decide to lift your 4Runner don't go over two inches if you don't want issues. Personally, and yes I have a 4Runner, your money is better spent on a quality "steel" set of under armor and rock sliders.
I guess the inside fuse panel cover can’t be reinstalled with that plug in place?
That’s the one downside of it.
I did the connection just like you did it, I got power on the connector of the switch but the switch is not working. I used the provided switch that came with the wires and it turned on the lights. But the raptor switch is not working. Is there a chance that it came defective? How I could diagnose the switch it self?
remove it from the dash and try again, they are know for binding. Not exact OEM fit.
So, I installed everything exactly like you did. However, the Raptor switch never lit up. For a few cycles it turned the Raptor lights on and then off, but then that stopped working as well. Assuming I did everything exactly like you, is it possible I blew a fuse? Or just got a bad switch? The switch itself feels insanely cheap and the green connector that plugs into the switch was a pain to get in and then ended up breaking the switch when I tried to get it out (this was after I realized the switched wasn't working).
And did you solder the red and yellow together first and then solder to the white one? Did you do one at a time? Thinking this may have been my fail point even though it looked good.
The switch fitment on the dash slot was a bit tricky, only fitted right once I wrapped it around some electrical tape.
I solder those 3 wires together… double check your fuses. 🤷🏼♂️
@@VikingsGarage yeah, I was testing the switch before installed it into the dash. The switch light never worked and it only seemed to cycle the lights a couple times and then stopped. Giving it another try today. Thanks!
Got it to work. I think I just had a faulty switch.

Why does it ave to go specifically into the IGN No2 fuse port, and can't I use another 10 A fuse location?
Sure, you can pick another one.
That’s the one I picked. 😉
You'll want to use one that only comes on with the ignition. I used an add a fuse on the cigarette lighter circuit.
Does anyone make a good raptor light? All I've seen up close are cheap and wouldn't last in the offroad world long.
I do have to admit, being on My second set(first ones were cheap in every sense of the word)
This set is from Yotaverse, it’s an improvement but I’m sure there as to be better out there.
It seems to me if you're only using a 2 Amp Fuse on the inline fuse holder, those lights don't draw hardly anything why go through all the trouble using a relay

@@VikingsGarage it takes less than 1 amp to activate a relay, it makes no sense to use the relay when the lights only draw 1.5 amps
