    In early 2018 I purchased a challenger GT all-wheel-drive hold over and saved a bunch of money. Spent about 30,000. I have put 80,000 miles on the car as a daily driver and it has been as reliable as any Honda. I have not had a single problem of any kind. Oil changes air filters blah blah blah and nothing else. High-performing models are great and I’d love to have one to throw around but it’s good to know that a V6 all-wheel-drive makes a fantastic daily driver. It does. It offers even tracking during snowstorms and it behaves predictably if you lean on it.
    I’ll buy another one.

    I've owned a few Dodge Charger RT AWD's and one of them was supercharged, ran 12.1@115mph, stock tires and exhaust. That being said, it was over kill & I got tired of $80/90 to fill up on gas every other week lol. I think a lot of people "think" they want a ton of HP and will use all of that power all of the time but the truth is, you really want something with throttle response and a decent 0-60 time. Most of your daily driving is from 0-60 and 30-50mph out and about, even on the highway you're really only using power to pass (safely) and for bursts at time. I've driven and owned a lot of fast cars and eventually it felt like it would catch up with me (dead or in jail) and have been a lot more responsible since. That being said, a V6 Challenger is more than enough power to suit daily driving needs for most people.

      $80-$90 every other week?!?! I’m spending that at least twice a week 😂! You’re definitely right the majority of people that buy these cars don’t actually need, appreciate, nor can they handle the power. I miss the days of 500+ horsepower cars belonging to the true car enthusiasts…not the everyday Joe.

    One strong selling point of the V6 that wasn't mentioned is that it's the ONLY way to get 4 wheel drive on this car, which the test model in this video was equipped with as evidenced by the "4" on the trunk lid.
    This makes the Challenger the ONLY American pony car that can get GREAT traction in snowy conditions for year round use.

    I have had both V6 and V8
    In the past I had a used V6 Charger , was a smooth ride and great for the highway . At that time I already knew that the vehicle was a stepping stone towards the HEMI that I always wanted.
    Then later when I became in better financial position I sold it and upgraded to 2021 Challenger RT.
    Most important thing is know what you want and what fits your need and budget. Some people like the looks of these vehicles and not really into power and that is totally fine , others prefer to have the full package power and looks.
    So nothing wrong with the V6 it is a nice cruiser and a lot of people are satisfied with it
    But if you care about the sound, power and fun, I am telling you the V8 is highly recommended.
    My advise guys, before making a decision test drive both and see what suits you better
    also consider something that fits your budget.
    For example on the 5.7 RT the maintenance and service is reasonably priced comparing to something like a scat pack or hellcat these machines are in another level they have bigger motor that only takes premium fuel and the service and parts are way more expensive things like brake pads, rotors ..etc

      Also, be carefull when looking forc a used V-8 Challenger or Charger cause they're usually driven pretty hard. They rev the engines up which can cause engine problems. My 2016 Challenger Scat Pack which I did not run hard had issues such as engine ticking. None of that with the GT I presently own.

      @crittendon1000 Před 3 lety

      @@nodak81 that may be true. But power goes with the image of muscle and we can’t compare engines from today against engines from the past. It also goes to sound, and 6s don’t sound like 8s. disabled making 4 wheel drifts a possibility. Four wheel drifting "is" necessary on occasion depending on conditions & mindset?!. If you live in Pennsylvania, you must get snow? I was thinking about getting the Challenger RT because of the V8 engine if I lived in the area where stay warm all year round but I live in Chicago we have brutal winters so I started looking at the V6 engine the Challenger GT because it's all-wheel drive and you need that in the deep snow I had a I had a 2004 mustang GT and even when traction control I had a hard time getting around in the snow what that mustang GT because of the rear wheel drive I don't need the RT the scat pack I don't need some I'm going to kill myself in here and not to mention how much the insurance going to be for something like that so powerful get a challenger it wood gt not to mention the fact because of this jackass president currently occupying the white house right now and gas prices have went up

    Get real. It's a poser. You really want an RT. If the RT was only $500- more, nobody would be in the SXT.

    • @AlphaShark
      @AlphaShark  Před 2 lety +6

      Well the RT isn't $500 more and so they have this!

      Shid...not me...I live in Michigan, so it gotta be an AWD, which is the GT (that I'm more interested in over the SXT)

    I imagine the challenger design department must consist of one guy, the same guy, that has occupied the same cubicle for 30 years who spends his work days playing with his phone. He is brilliant because he has not done a thing or changed a thing for a generation and still gets paid.
