- Goodwood's 81st Members' Meeting presented by Audrain Motorsport kicked off with a day to remember. From #F1 cars celebrating the career of Niki Lauda to the current World Champions in sidecar racing taking part in our first ever Shoot-Out was an incredible day. Also included was BTCC racers going at it, pre-war legends in full flow, and some other beautiful motorsport.

I might the last one to notice but it just occurred to me that the older cars actually drift much more than the more modern racers. I guess
it might be that the former raced on treaded tires and the latter on slicks. The treaded tires don't have the lateral grip of slicks. Yes or no?
Tyres are a big part of that - bias ply vs radial. Also the lack of aerodynamics as well as a number of other factors related to the suspension geometry. Much more fun to watch

Yeah I can’t understand the logic in inviting them to show up and having them cruise around at like a 60 mph speed limit. What’s the point?
Safety is not an excuse because these cars raced at tracks much more dangerous than Goodwood.
@@chipattack912 Yeah, there's cars running unrestricted that are just as or more dangerous. Ghost of Bruce maybe.
It’ll be insurance reasons. Third party liability won’t cover cars as fast as can am. I imagine
@@napalmhotdog4365 Perhaps correct. Still would be a treat to see them even at 8/10ths. I have been fortunate to and the spectacle is amazing.
@@napalmhotdog4365 for how prestigious Goodwood events are, the costs of insurance should be a non-issue. Or maybe run uninsured like any normal person driving on a racetrack?
Do you have to show a certificate proving that you're certifiably insane to qualify as a sidecar passenger/ballast? 😰
