Good on the low and mid frequency. At the redline it's a bit too noisy. Idk might be just me, but this cracking sound feels like the engine could run more optimal.

Yeah the VQ engines have a definite love/hate exhaust note for me. The drone can be terrible too but the wide open pulls are worth it.. VQ37 isn't quite as bad with the rasp, the VQ35 sounds like a trumpet sometimes
Can u explain ur setup a bit better. Im straight piping my z and could use some advice. I want my cats out but wouldnt that run hard due to a lack of back pressure? And did u use a dung on the pipe?
Zach Suppan not the person but i have a straight piped z as well, you be fine you will lose back pressure but it’s nbd, you will feel a loss of low end torque due to the lack of back pressure but you will get higher end torque (due to the exhaust being able to push more air out) if you want the low end torque back you can get it tuned
sorry it took so long for me to respond! as Andy had stated, you will loose low end torque but result in high end torque. I noticed cruising at low speeds that I had to use more throttle to move.
Kyrin Bingaman as long as that engine lights on ur ecu is in safe mode closed loop get a cat o2 sensor eliminator....it will trick the ecu into thinking there's a catalytic converter aka light off and your engine will run correct more power
Kyrin Bingaman also somewhere in the exhaust have a venturi tube wielded in and it will help restore some of your lost low in torque by creating a little more back pressure. Hope I was of some help.
I also have a "true" straight pipe my cats back are all straight no mufflers nothing but it sounds way to raspy or "ricer" i like how yours sounds though
