"In this life, if a problem is soaring 5 feet wide of you, don't try to whack at it" -Steve "Dangle" Glynn, 2022
Words to live by.
Absolutely 🧐
*"Words for Alex Nedeljkovic to live by."
There. Fixed it!
Nedeljkovic needed the own-goal to start his Goalie, HOW? hat trick: an own-goal, an assist (two minutes later), and a fight. Even just getting an assist and a fight (technically offsetting two for roughing after the line brawl but worth counting) is rare.
He is the only goaltender to accomplish all three in the same game.
Bruh 🤣 Goalie, HOW hat trick 🤣🤣🤣
If I made that dumb play I'd be so mad, I'd find an excuse to fight someone
Goalie-howe hat trick
Goalie, HOW? Gold star for that one
lmao the mispell/autocorrect disaster in this comment is hilarious. Goalie, HOW???
I was at an ECHL game last weekend and the away goalie left the crease to play the puck, our guy poked it away from him, it did not end in a goal but the crowd broke out in a "if you're a goaltender, tend the goal" chant
Oh no... it's become a meme! 😂
Steve is not mentally ready for the day it happens in the nhl
@@simplyskrypt3914 nobody is.
Echl hockey is painful to watch lol
@@kaydencooper619 not really, just a few more dang-its. Remember that nedjelkovic cut his teeth in the ECHL
This is absolutely peak Dang Its. The ratio of Steve to clips - perfect. The commentary - hilarious. (I laughed openly like 7 times.) The clips - worthy. One of my favorite Dang It videos ever. Bravo!
not to mention steve calls smith coyle multiple times
"his skates are made out of skates" had me dead laughing xDDD
"His skates are made of SKATES..." OK, that was funny.
Adam Larsson... Tanking by scoring own goals. . . Where on earth could he have learned that? It's not like he is a former Oiler AND a former NJ Devils player.
Larsson got ruined by terrible coaches.
@@agentmassa3618 He was also playing on teams who were using up part of their salary cap as dead salary (salary retention, buyout penalties, cap circumvention penalties) and as a result they had WAY less cap than most other teams and were STILL underwhelming. Taylor Hall may have won a Hart trophy as a Devil but he was still traded, signed as a free agent and was traded again before Larsson was selected in the expansion draft.
Neds slash into his own net made me laugh when I saw it live. Still makes me laugh. DANG. IT.
As a wings fan that was incredibly painful but it is still hilarious
god the koskinen one still pisses me off. he literally always lets atleast 1 goal get scored on him when he freaking plays the puck. STAY IN THE GOAL!
Edmonton really needs some new goaltender's. I don't believe they'll ever go the distance if they don't get rid of Smith and Koskinen and get some new and better goalies between the pipes
I have to think that's Duncan Keith shouting, "STOP! COME ON! MOVE IT!"
🥶🥶🥶
That Chicago goalie interference, wtf "if you're a war room judge, judge the play!"
I think you meant Craig Smith in the Boston clip, but yeah. That call was about as soft as a Mattress Firm
I think it was called because the Bruin's player trips the hawks D into the goalie
Stillman ran right into Smtih's stake
@@jonah.donohue The hook on Smith by Strome also played a part in this sequence.
That Nedeljkovic clip is so hard to watch and I'm not even a Red Wings fan
I thought the call was spot on. "Oh..." Yeah, that about sums it up.
Canes don't look so bad letting him go now
the koskinen one is funny cause you hear one of the players yelling "come on, move it"
That “goaltender interference” call on Smith(not Coyle) has to be one of the worst calls of all time and is easily the worst call this season.
Well, Smith almost slewfoots Fleury, so this is legimit.
@@danieltokar7404 oh, they’re giving out penalties for ALMOST doing something illegal now?
@@danieltokar7404 what do you mean almost? Almosts don't mean anything. Unless you actually do it, it is fine.
The "Interference" was by *!His Own Teammate!!!*
and even the "Replay Official" couldn't SEE That...??!!
@@danieltokar7404 are you blind or stupid? No part of Smith's body or equipment mad contact with Fleury's lower body
That Nedeljkovic own goal is going to be one of the biggest dang its of the decade. Maybe all time. He had to swat the puck past 2 attacking players bearing down on the net. That play never had more than a 5% chance of success, where success wasn't scoring a goal or saving a goal, but just getting the puck to your own teammate.
I've been waiting days to hear Steve yell at tell Koskinen to tend the goal. Nice set up, excellent delivery.
"What a start for Mrazek" he says so neutrally. Love Craig Simpson.
I am in tears with just how damn funny this week's episode was Steve and Drew. Between the Styx karaoke with Grubauer, the dings on that sequence, warming up the pipes for Wideman (we also would have accepted "Say The Line Bart!" by the way) and "The Nedeljkovic"...I am laughing way too hard at my desk today. Thankfully there's only 6 people in the building today...
Hadn't seen the last one before. Almost fell of my chair, literally 🤣
The Koskinen dang-it is one thing, you can also put some blame on Keith there, but Ned? Steve is right; there's no need for that move whatsoever. On dictionary, right beside the phrase "brain fart", is this sequence.
I saw it before. It was on TSN's worst play of the night segment.
I like how there was almost ZERO contact from any bruins player on the ice and it was ruled a no goal because of goaltender interference so it had to be the stick touching MAF, but then the Caps challenged a goal because a players stick was between Vanaceks legs while he was trying to move over and that wasn't goaltender interference
Like.... what?
I mean like smith tripped the hawks defender and then tried to avoid the goalie but had the turning radius of a 18 wheeler
smith dumped stillman into fleury
I don’t even like the Bruins(Bolts fan) and I think that goal should have counted. The refs in the NHL could do their job blindfolded and it wouldn’t be any different
The Ducks' goal in Game 5 of the second round in 2017 counted despite Kesler trying his best to slow down Talbot by pressing his glove into Talbot's pad, yet the Sharks lost a goal to goalie interference when it was the Calgary goalie's own player who took him out. You look throughout the history of the NHL and you will find examples of both.
The rule needs revision, no consistency
4:25 I don't see the problem. The NHL is just telling the players "if you get caught out of position just lay a hit on your own goalie and we'll call it interference."
I feel like the habs have taken the name “dang it generator” to a whole new level
Thank you Steve for adding in the no goal because of goaltender interference. That was a brutal call
I’m a hawks fan and 1. We dont deserve fleury and 2. That 100% shoulda been a goal bro
Atlanta Hawks?
@@TheCBDemon bro, the hawks are a nickname for the capitals lol
No one will ever be able to convince me the NHL isn't being rigged for sports betting
@@deusvult6920 Do you think a pro team in Vegas gives it away? AND Evander Kane?
@@TurtlesInTheSun_ 🤣
You know that goalie interference call was bad when the opposing team announcers don’t agree that it was goalie interference
First thing I said when ned scored on himself was “well that’s gonna be featured on dang its” and when I seen the thumbnail to this i just got so happy, red wings are always messing up somewhere but out of all of their dang it’s, this deserves dang it of the year
1:02 "ohhhh, *THIS* is why i'm here.
Calling smith coyle without realising it is a dang-it lol
drew didn't realize either, because he would have made fun of him
Steve :: What might be the most fun week of the year.
Me :: Saint Patty's Day?
Steve :: Trade Deadline.
Me :: Oh...
Every game Georgiev plays it’s just so much more stressful. I’m sure that’s how it works for all teams but I know he’s gonna be great when he leaves us.
The second I saw the Red Wings own goal, I knew it would be on here of course lol.
I read the Down Goes Brown Guide to Goaltender Interference Reviews, and it makes it pretty clear that if there's an attacking player in the crease a la Brett Hull there's a good chance the goal would be overturned. And Craig Smith was definitely in the crease. If there's a dang-it it would be on Steve for saying that the interference was on Charlie Coyle when it was Craig Smith that was in the crease.
That's all well and good except that isn't at all how it seems to be called in practice half the time
True. The inconsistency in the refs is also a dang-it.
I read it, and I also knew it was coming back! Seriously the best goaltender interference guide out there!!!
@@ILoveMisty1985 it's consistently inconsistent at best
I have rarely been as excited for a video of Dang Its as this week
This was probably one of the most anticipated videos ever!
Also, the Detroit goalie swatting the puck into his own net made me LOL.
"But his skate is made of Skate! so he falls" Bruh.. i died xD
Lmfao! "Grhm, excuse me. Mi Mi Miii", that was funny. Also hello from Finland. Huge fan of your podcasts Steve. Tell others my hey's too
Best part about the Koskinen dang-it is that it was forced by Dylan Larkin, who did this earlier in the season in a different episode.
the other dang-it on the hawks bruins games is that the hawks only have 17 shots to the bruins 44. and it's still only a 1-1 game at that point. and yes, that was clearly a goal
"His skates are made of... skates!" That, sir, is comedy gold. Well done!
The Canes fan in me wanted the Nedeljkovic trade to look somewhat favorable for us by the end of this season.
That own-goal is not at all what I had in mind.
FWIW, he just posted a 43-save shutout
@@KeegoTheWise Good for him!
Where do I find the videos about Ben Chiarot and Jarnkrok? Please and thank you for the information
I would love a "If you're a goal tender, TEND THE GOAL!" compilation :'D
Poor Ned, I would of loved to hear what Mickey had to say.
At some point we need to recognize that McDavid is as likely to be on Hat Picks as Koskinen on Dang Its.
I knew that last one was gonna be on dangits. Watched it with people on Discord and absolutely called it. That one was so funny
I knew it was coming and I still laughed. IF YOU'RE A GOALTENDER, TEND THE GOAL! Not to mention this is like the 3rd time Koskinen has done this. He never learns.
I mean, he’s 22-9-3 on the season, so… Pretty sure he knows what’s up.
Nedelkovic with the awesome redirect. What hand eye coordination! That's a hat pick!
Steve: “This is one of the worst own goals of the year”
Dean Kukan: hold my beer
Your face is so close to the camera it makes everything more funny I’m a habs fan and I still like this good luck keep up the good work
“He tried to go to one side but his skates are made of SKATES” 🤣
Glad to see the first NHL game I was at since 2007 made the list but that shift by the Blues was insane to see in person
Want a real Dang It? Rick started Benn Seggy and Rads which didnt make any headway and we also gave an AHL goalie his first shut up in his first NHL start.
That last goal deserves a "Dang-it" Award.
gillies just about threw one in his own net against the flames yesterday
The answer to the How Did That Happen on the Kraken shuffle goal is named Phillip Grubauer. Man is the Matt Stafford in Detroit of goaltending this year. (For non-American Football fans, Matthew Stafford is the quarterback for the LA Rams who just won the Superbowl. During his 12 seasons witht he Detroit Lions, he averaged 1 interception for every 1 Touchdowns. Most quarterbacks are closer to 1/5 ratio, so he is very inconsistent.)
Fun fact: two of these dang-it players were traded later in the week, and one was put on waivers
4:50 it’s not coyle it’s smith who was said to interfere the goalie.
Even then, how
@@brendancross2767 he makes contact with Fleury's stick, which technically can be sufficient for goalie interference, but you usually have to maul the goaltender to get the call these days, so it's just a strange call.
At least Nedeljkovic got at 1-0 shutout tonight. But yeah, that own goal against Minnesota made my jaw drop that night
You missed the Officiating dang it from Sundays Wild vs. Predators. At the end of the 1st period, the Wild shoot and it looks like it’s a goal. The goal is immediately waved off. 3/4 of the replays on the Jumbotron show the puck going square into the net, 1 shows the puck seeming to bounce off the left post. Of course there’s a scrum after and after and officials go to the box to confer. After a discussion they come out and say, “there was 3.9 seconds left on the clock and no whistle was blown. The period is over”. As they’re saying this, 3.9 seconds is added to the board and immediately winds down.
The last one made me laugh out loud! I've never seen anything like that :o
Can you add Jack Roslovic falling over and losing the puck while the Blue Jackets commentators are in the middle of saying how well he's doing and that "He's gaining confidence."
Last night's Jacket's game had atleast 2 dang it's in it, Korpi skating the puck into net, and Kukan with the own goal.
With Kuznetsov it looked like it went off his helmet, then his stick 🤯
I don’t have twitter. But next week I better see Mantha- off korpisalo, off the wall, off korpisalo, in the net. Then the own goal in the same game. Whole game was a dang it for Columbus
The Alex Ned own goal is the Red Wings season in General. Just a BIG DANG-IT!
That goal by the Capitals is ridiculous, that really caught Thadcher off guard, like really.
The Nedelkjovic own goal gave me a good laugh, that's a one armed lumberjack moment for sure lmao. Can hear both the "HI-YAAAA!" and the swear words that probably came from under his mask
Oooooooo a long one today.
The thing I love about Dang Its is it reminds me that the next day is Friday. It gives me some joy and happiness right before the end of the week and the start of the weekend. So it’s like a lighter that lights a fireplace!
17:38 I was watching this game from college while my brother was watching from home, and right after this goal I received a text from him that said, "How are we supposed to solve this rock-solid goaltender?" lmao
I didn't realize Detroit was so desperate for goaltending that they got Pavelski on loan from Dallas.
Can you have a category called "Double Dog Dangits"? I kinda feel like Nedeljkovic's would fall around there.
I'm so glad you touched on the B's goaltender interference. It was a no brainer watching that game. Def reverses call and Coyle gets the goal. The challenge, no goal and then a delay of game assessed. WTF????
Whenever I watch these video i'm never surprised when a puck takes a weird bounce for this reason. In 2008 during minor hockey, i was in my end near behind the net area a person shot a puck it deflected off my shins and went from me to the other teams goalie and like a foot a away it took a weird bounce and went in and 13 years later it has never been topped.
Mrazek's flop, the BS no goal call on Boston, and the Nedeljkovic own goal has got to be some of the worst Dang-It's I've seen in the past few years.
"I think it was Appleton from our AT&T 5G NET CAM..." The shameless plugs lol
"Wow…wow!" at 12:36 i would agree, on about four or five different levels.
I love Steve's Dang-Its! 40 year old zamboni driver, WHO WORKS FOR THE TEAM!!!
The Habs dang it looked so intentional 🙄🥲😂😂😂🤣😅😂🤣🤣
The bugs bunny cartoon Steve references is called Baseball bugs if anyone wants to look it up
4:30 idk if Steve mentions this after that time stamp..but guys....I'm fairly sure that the ref that announced it was no goal...is the SAME REF from the Rangers vs. Capitals game a few years ago when Georgiev threw his stick at Ovi and it took like three separate reviews before they called an awared goal...I'm fairly sure that that's the same ref
In my opinion, Bergevin's own goal is even worse than Nedeljkovic, because it was in the playoffs. St. Louis was very good that year, and if I remember correctly, they had finished 1st in the West (which was no small feat). I don't remember how the game ended, but the Blues lost the series, in first round on top of it. If we take out the context though, they are fairly close!
Steve Dangle: “Can you tell me what happened here?”
Me: “Yes, I got whiplash.”
“Do you want Shane Wright or not?”
I love the future
Toronto’s own goal in the outdoor game that you were at Steve? At about 10:50 mark of the second?
That is precisely why I knew the team that I've been supporting since before they even had their name the Kraken were going to be really crappy when they got "Fall on his face" Phillip Grubauer. I've never liked him since he came to the NHL. Extremely INCONSISTENT and highly unreliable for the money they paid him that could have tried to pay Tuuka Rask to come out of retirement. Which would have been better. But if you watch the Kraken play legitimately. They are 2 different teams. Even Grubauer is in the net. The teams sluggish, unresponsive, get weak on puck control. And they don't protect the net at all or the goalie. When Chris Driedger is in the net. That hustle, fight, bustle, they fore-check and struggle to win games. I'm short I think the team plays hard but can't win with Driedger cause we going have big-time scoring threats other then McCann. We need more shooters. But I'd send Scrubauer packing tootsweet
I love that I knew exactly which Looney Tunes scene you were going to reference before you said it.
Day one of asking producer drew to make a worst dang it videos of each team
You know Steve is a Toronto fan when johnny's two behind the net goals isn't considered a hat pick or a dang it..
Pucks bouncing off the top of the glass has been Vancouver's kryptonite for more than a decade now.
I almost died of laughter at Nadelkovic's dang it xD Such an unlucky bounce to a so so decision.
Nedeljkovic
Also, all you can do as a wings fan after that goal is laugh
for Steve asking how much an NHL goalie glove costs, depending on the customization youre looking upwards of 700 CAD before tax, regular stock usually never gets cheaper than 600 CAD
I'm not saying that the call is right, but I don't think Steve fundamentally understands the Boston/Chicago situation. The refs weren't calling interference on Coyle. Coyle is 8 feet in front of the goal and shoots the puck. No issue there. Craig Smith, however, crashes the net and moves Fleury's position with his skate. It's easy to see at 3:38. But I don't know if it's really Smith making contact on his own as much as being pushed by Riley Stillman. Tough call.
We all agree with you Steve, Charlie Coyle didn't interfere. But that was never the thing anyway.
Maybe it's the last name Wideman is prone to dang its because whenever I hear his last name it reminds me of Dennis Wideman's Shootout attempt so many years ago. You should do some Dang It's from before the time of Dang Its :D
I’m a Rangers fan and that Blue’s game was hard to watch and Georgiev slipping before letting in that goal was just painful, so I just knew it was going to be on this weeks Dang-It’s.
11:50 I was thinking the same thing laughing but then I seen there 30 seconds In On clean ice makes sense on sliding so far
As a Canes fan, the Nedeljkovic trade looks better and better each day not gonna lie
And as a Kraken fan, I'm also enjoying Arizona and Montreal going on a tear
That Gorgiev falling down play is a big reason why a lot of goalies are willing to take the risk of rounding off the outside edge of their skates
Tuesday's Hat Picks Steve: I don't care how bad that shot was, it was a great save. Thursday's Dang It's Steve: It's just sort of the worst goal I've ever seen.
Some of your best work Mr. Dangle!
