    About Location Rebel:
For the past 10 years at www.locationrebel.com I've taught people just like you how to build a lifestyle business and become a digital nomad. There are a lot of ways we do this depending on your goals, skills and interests, but some of the most common businesses are built around freelance writing, niche sites, affiliate marketing and blogging.
Our primary goal is to help you get to the point where you're making $3-5k a month as quickly as possible, because after that? You have options.
My name is Sean Ogle, and I'm the founder of Location Rebel. I'm a location independent entrepreneur from Portland, Oregon and I travel 3-4 months out of the year and take my business with me wherever I go. On this channel you'll learn exactly how to build a similar business and do it from some pretty sweet destinations as well.

There are some good tips here. I would also add for beginner writers: 1: If you don't have a portfolio, craft some high quality demonstration articles that show your skills as a writer (you have to have samples). 2: Prepare a great cover letter that is concise but demonstrates your real added value that you can offer to a company. 3: One last thing, that I've done when pitching a start-up that already has content, or a business with just some old blog posts, is that I take a portion of what I consider to be content that is not very high quality, and I re-write it and send the new piece to show what the difference would be if they hired me. This is really proactive.

That last one is a really great tip! It makes it very personal to their business, and also lets them see your skill and style, as well.

Thank you so much for this! I started freelance writing in February 2022, and it has been so full of ups and downs. These tips are very helpful and even uplifting since I come from a conservative family and every time my income drops, I instantly start to contemplate if leaving my job was the right thing to do!

Sean, I just found your you tube channel this last weekend. So far, you are the most fun person to listen to and watch on you tube. I used to live on 185 avenue in Portland but moved to Vancouver WA now. Thank you for your amazing and helpful content. I'm also going to check Location Rebel. Go Portland.

Something I haven't been sure about; if I ghostwrite a piece and it's published on a site, am I allowed to include it in my portfolio, or is it useless because my name isn't on it?

Location Rebel is it possible to start out freelance writing without having a website? For example using Wordpress for blog posts and writing samples and reaching out to clients until I have some disposable income to get hosting and website started. Thanks Sean great video as always! And thank you for sending me the email that linked me to this video I appreciate it.

If I would have a WordPress website showing my work samples how I get paid? Is wordpress designed to conduct transaction or do I need to put my PayPal account on it for me to get paid by a client?

    • @LocationRebel

In most cases there isnt one, the terms can be used interchangeably. With some freelance work you might find clients refer to it as one or the other, but generally same structure.
