Robin is focused during performances. His brother stated that Robin is a "perfectionist." Robin has many lead, and solo songs. He is an excellent singer, and songwriter. LOVE THIS MAN!❤️

Australian? Actually the brothers were born on the Isle of Man, then spent a few years in Manchester, then emigrated to Australia in 1958. They lived in Redcliffe, moved to Sydney later to further opportunities in music. They left to return to the UK in 67. When asked, they always said they were British.

Of course the reactor has an Australian accent. They cut their teeth on TV there but would have gone nowhere if they had stayed. The opportunities there were limited but, of course, once successful they were suddenly Australian.

@@susieq9801 They are not very honest people (not talking about the Brits who highly value integrity). New Zealanders are fed up with Kiwis being claimed as Aussies just because they started or had their big break in Oz. Having said that in this particular case I'm sure this reactor made a genuine mistake and was not aware that the Bee Gees never took up Oz citizenship and only lived there relatively briefly which in all fairness the overwhelming majority or people living in Oz would not know those facts either.

Robin's beautiful unique vibrato is one of a kind. His nickname of "Songbird " was perfect. You should react to I Started A Joke, from the same 1989 concert. He got a huge ovation for his signature song, well deserved.

Robin actually had an earphone over his ear. Also, as for diction, I have heard songs where I'm not even sure what he was saying but LOVE his voice. Unmatched. These guys were British/Manx to the core with British passports and never took out Australian citizenship. They were there for less than a decade out of a 6 decade career.

This concert is one of my favorites. They were hope you will do more from it. Robin’s performance of his signature I STARTED A JOKE is perfection.... at least to my untrained ear. Would love for you to react to it.

It would have been real quick work to find out the name of this very famous singer which is Robin. I don’t know about scales and mirror work as he famously declined voice training when it was suggested to him as he liked his natural sound. He was an intense performer but generally smiled after he finished and seemed to take great pleasure in singing.

The Bee Gees weren't Australian. They were from England but lived here for about 9 years 🙂 Robin Gibb takes the lead in this song. Beautiful, tremulous voice. He was famous for cupping his hand over his ear when he sang.

Robin is a perfectionist and a very intense person…if you watch other live performances that is Robin! When the6 were kids performing in Australia their dad (Hugh) would always hav3 to remind Robin to Smile…also to comb his hair and fix his shoes per his twin Maurice.

The BeeGees of course were NOT an Australian band, but a British band. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success there so they moved back to the UK in 1966.

@@voxsingingacademy - They actually even sang as kids in a theater between movies in Manchester before emigrating to Australia. The Manchester police suggested emigrating to the parents since Barry was on parole at 11 for theft and Robin, (3 years younger) for arson.

@@voxsingingacademy their actual big career kicked off in Australia, that's true. That's the reason people often think they are Australian. But they weren't, although they considered Australia as their second homeland since they grew up there. While traveling back to England by boat, Spicks and Specks became their first hit in Australia. But long before S&S they had build up quite a reputation.
As youngsters in Manchester they were already harmonising whenever they could. In Australia they were frequently on TV with covers and self written songs (by Barry) and they ofter performed on racetracks and nightclubs...
