I , personally, feel that this song, Massachusettes,,,, made them Famous....
It truly highlighted their famous harmony
Love Robin's voice love robin ❤❤❤❤💔💔💔💔💔
robin looked so good, like wine as he age...there is the appeal in him that cant be explained, just wanting to stare at him...his voice is just heavenly.
Love this song and Robin's voice. It is a classic song ,and I love it more because I am from Massachusetts.
I love Robin’s voice!!
I think Massachusetts and I started a Joke are in most of their concerts. Such classics. Robins voice. Wonderful. He could sing the phone book and make me love them. No other like these guys!
My favorite song from Robin. The first time I heard him sing this a long time ago, is why I became a Bee Gees fan, but mostly a Robin fan.i fell in love with Robins voice and of course with Robin
I love Robins voice. Sooooo good.
Massachussets was Bee Gees first UK number One hit. A marvellous song. A marvellous band.
What a wonderful voice ... it's a crystal..!!
So beautiful. ❤️❤️❤️❤️I Started a Joke received a one minute standing ovation at this concert.
Robin Gibb um falseto com um vibrato celestial
I loved Robin singing this!!
Please react to BEEGEES MEDLEY....ONE FOR ALLTOUR CONCERT 1989
Thanks for these reaction!
Masachussets
is the first #1 to youngest Bee Gees in UK (1967, the same year when "Sgt Peppers" album by BEATLES was realized)
This song is so special, Robin takes the leads, some kind of magic and feelings and emotions exploted with Robin's unique and angelical voice
I can suggest another song from the earlies 60/70s:
My world
(greatest ballad and pop song, before era disco sound)
Have a nice weekend
See you in next videos
Thanks for your feedback. Good news, my friend! I've already reviewed "My World" and it's on my Bee Gees playlist on my channel. Here's the link:

Thanks so much for the link
I found it!
And leave you a comment and request
Have a nice weekend!
It’s also the concert that Maurice grabbed one of the videographers camera and was right up in Robins face on another song 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love when they used to clown around. It proved that they were just as down to earth as you and me and not soo far up their own butts. LOVE LOVE LOVE the BeeGees ❤
Whenever you went to a Bee Gees concert you really never knew what version you would get. When they performed live (because they were so good at harmonizing) they would naturally revise the songs. It was a natural thing, one song they never did live was "Fanny" because the harmonizing was so intricate and layered it was difficult to do well and If they couldn't do it right they wouldn't do it. Some songs were always studio songs. Sometimes it's better on lazy afternoon to pull out their songs and just sit back and listen, no reactions needed.
This song is from the 60s. Great tune. Barry still going strong in his 70s with his kids and nieces and nephews. Family of songwriters excellence.
I've listened to a few, in my opinion this is the most beautiful.
bee gees woman in you
Robins voice is the the same whether it’s 50 years ago or today. Please watch the whole concert. No one will regret it.
Gosh Robin looked so good at that time.
The one for all tour is awsome. They were so strong, vocally. You might enjoy 'lonely days' from the same concert.
Thank you so much for these reaction
I love so much "Masachusets"
it was their First #1 in UK 1967
(the year of BEATLES Sgt Pepper)
is in my Top 5 of all Bee Gees songs
and live is amazing!
Robin voice was so sweet and shine
in my opinion He is one of the three most greatest male voices of the rock & pop, with Paul McCartney &
Freddy Mercury
I would request for one of the most underrated Bee Gees songs: "Lamplight"
And if you want to react another artists singers or groups,
I suggest to ABBA
the Sweden pop group that leads in the 70s decade
with the two most fantastic female singers of rock & pop:
Agnetha Fälkstog &
Anni Frid Lyngstad
The note at the end always gives me goosebumps
Short but sweet, with Robin's amazing vocals. It was a part of the flower power era, maybe you had to be there (way before your time!) To fully appreciate.
You need to listen to The Bridge. It's Maurice, his daughter Samantha and his son Adam. Great song
Where can I buy The Bridge? It is not on itunes.
I LOVE Robin, Exelen voice♡¡¡¡love ..❤
One of their greatest hits. But I love all of them
Thanks Chad. I love this song, their first number 1, and it's still their signature song for me. I would say it is more folk than country. There are so many amazing versions of this over the years including some fabulous accoustic versions in the middle of chat shows just picking up their guitars and singing.
🥀Beautiful Song I've always loved this song it's Robin's unique voice that grab's me into the lyrics. I believe it's at all of their Concerts I know it was done in Atlanta Ga in 1975 Robin sang it with his Barry & Maurice back vocals. 🥀☝️🥀
That long, harmonized note at the end is not included in the studio recording. I too, like the ending - it's my favorite part of the whole song (in this live version).
Chad, to answer your question as to whether "I Started a Joke" was performed at this concert, the answer is yes. In fact, Robin had just performed "Joke" right before "Massachusetts" and he was just finishing up with that amazing standing ovation I told you about when I had requested "Joke". He seemed to be caught a little off guard when "Massachusetts" started but delivered an amazing performance as usual. What an awesome man, what an awesome group! And, if we could cause a mutiny and take over your wonderful channel, we probably would but, we realize that you have other requests to honor and we are always grateful to you when you give us another wonderful "Bee Gees" reaction. I look forward to them and it always makes my day. Can't wait for the next one!
Amen. :)
There was a long ovation after this one too.
Indeed.....Amen....Lauri🙏
Love watching your reaction to the BeeGees songs. I think you do a great job reacting to every BeeGees song. Robin is my favorite BeeGee Thank you for playing a lot of their music. Makes my day. ❤️🩹
Their first Hit!
One of my favorite songs that they did in this concert is "It's My Neighborhood." Awesome to see Maurice's personality shine more in that one.
Bluegrass and basic country music were in their roots in Australia. As always their harmonies are on point
Unbeatable Bee Gees. Thank you Chad and please react to their hit songs Melody Fair, Cherry Red, Don't Forget To Remember Me and Spicks and Specks
Perfection!
Gorgeous song, your right chad every concert is a little different. But always great sound.💕💕💕 i I love the way you react to all the songs.💕💕👍👍
Their harmonizing at the end is extraordinary indeed!! Can expect nothing less!!!
Robin Is Robin!!!
Che meraviglia.
I believe that the actual song is longer than what they played in this concert. Later in their career their catalog was so big that in concert they would just do shorter versions to fit more songs in. On your own you definitely need to listen to other versions of this song by them. Do agree that the ending in this version is great!
It was a pretty short song originally.
I'm stunned to hear you say it's not your favorite. They always performed their songs the way they were recorded. You may have really stunned some BeeGees lovers. Ballads were popular when they recorded this one. It's 1 they perform at all the concerts I've watched. I believe it's their most requested song.
Since I was in my teens or rearly 20s when this came out, I still prefer the original. There were no back up singers. It was just pure.
If I remember right we called this folk music.
Pretty sure they sang this on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. It was so funny because Maurice kept picking on Robin and making faces behind Robin's back.
It should be a Bee Gees Channel!
Thanks! Started my day off right with a fabulous song! 👏💕
Any Reaction Channel who focuses on Bee Gees songs are automatically great reaction channels to me!
They did both at this concert, yes. Both songs are standard songs that they would do at concerts because they are classics for them. Everyone loves them. Alongside of a number of other songs. But you'll find that out Chad 😉 being that you're becoming a fan.
You don't notice backup singers because they never needed any and did for years.
can you show a Bee Gees concert singing the song "TEARS"?
Robin love voice 🎼😍
You really do need to listen to the full song. This one has a story that you need all three verses to get. This song was released in 1968; think about what was going on in this country __ the summer of love. This was meant as a counter to that. It's about someone who went to San Francisco, and he is talking about how he wants to go home to Massachusetts. Now, I heard one of the guys talking about why they used Massachusetts. Basically they needed something with four syllables. They didn't know where Massachusetts was, or even how to spell it. This was their first no 1 song in the UK.
Chad, this same concert has their "3 song medley." It is so good! It is also a separate CZcams video.
Storytellers, yes, you're right. They reflected about the flower-power scene, which was on the run in 1968. Yaknow hippies on their way to California. Great songs like 'California Dreaming' , 'San Francisco' or 'Turn Turn Turn' and so on. Sophisticated reaction of them. Wondering what the hell should do people in Massachusetts. So the lyrics like "tried to hitch a ride to San Francisco" or "and the lights all went out in Massachusetts" came to the light of day and never will be forgotten.
This is one of my favourites by the Bee Gees and I just love Barry’s voice. The whole arrangement was brilliant and so was your reaction
Chad L. Summers - The last time Maurice met Brian Epstein (The Beatles manager) Epstein said "That song 'Massachusetts' will be a hit". He was right. When Robin brought that song to his brothers Barry said he felt the same. A lot of songs in the 60's had to fit the short time allotted in the current radio format.
The Bee Gees did lean heavily into country with songs like "Home again Rivers" czcams.com/video/fyvvVClNBv8/video.html and "Islands in the Stream" which Robin sang on their biggest hits LP but was a major hit for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. czcams.com/video/jrzqyQfQxXc/video.html I know you don't have a lot of Bee Gees songs to react to, LOL. "Follow the wind" was an early song, very folksy and they sang that as well as giving it to the folk band The Seekers. "How love was true" could easily be mistaken for The Beatles. They did it all. As you said, you can't label them.
This was their 1st #1 in the US
Their comment re: the Flower Power era :) Classic! Again, amazing harmonies Mo!!
Barry said he liked country music so there's times it comes through.
👍🥰
4:12 is the reason their songs will live forever! This remastered concert is miles ahead of the mix that came out originally in '89. Great job by John Merchant and Barry! Thanks Chad!
They often did this song just with vocal and a single guitar (Johnny Carson Show just sitting in the guest seats with Maurice annoying the he11 out of Robin.)
I think that version is Robin's strongest vocal and he looked so proud of himself at the end! His voice was at us best for me in the early and mid 70s.
@@lclark6854 - And Mo was being Mo. Robin even smirked at his silliness but kept on singing. The twins truly loved each other.
That was absolutely hilarious, and I think Johnny was a bit amused too.
@@lclark6854 Agree.
Very good!! REACT MAKING OF JUST CASE Bee Gees...
Love this song .. second fave after you win again x 👍
Sweet Robin. I will say the older version is spectacular though.
This is my favorite version also.
The original did not have the "I will remember Massachusetts" part at all. It ended with Robin's "... is somewhere I have seen"
Linda demais
This was the performance in Australia. They had 3 backups there. Maurice introduces them in concert video
👌👍👍
this is the best versión of this song in my opinion, the same i have to say about words in this concert. Better than spirits versión
This song SHOULD have been included on Barry Gibbs recent album Greenfields. An album of Bee Gees songs performed by stellar country artists. It would have fitted perfectly on the album. Well, maybe it WILL be included on the second volume of Greenfields!
God, I needed this today!
We used to call folk music.
React Bee gees "sweet Song of summer"
The only place I have found it is on CZcams
I saw them live at Saratoga, NY.
Could you please react to REO BROTHERS? They’re from Philippines 🇵🇭 and they are real brothers. Genre are mostly on the 60’s ...
Check out she kept on knocking on the door I've have no idea we're that came from.
I don’t think I love this song cause I am from Massachusetts but maybe!! Lol. Thx Chad great song and reaction. If u haven’t reacted to their song “to love somebody” that is my favorite. Also Morissette does a Bee gee cover of “Emotion” under stage sessions. Kind of an R&B style that destiny child did. Cheers
In the original only Robin held the final note.
Hey. I wanted to suggest a video for you to listen to. I am not suggesting it for your show, but just because I think you would like it. The Seekers covered Massechusetts and listening to Judith Durham sing it is amazing, It just made me feel good because it is such a beautiful song. Thanks.
Loving all these bee gees songs, can I request Eyes by Kelli Wolfe? on CZcams it says ft. Barry Gibb but it also features Maurice Gibb and they both wrote it
I hope you at least listen to the original studio versions on your own.
Your right Chad, this is the only time I have seen them hold that last note at the end, but in my opinion, it's the best version, and I think they should have kept it in! ❤️🥰
Another oldie but goodie with great comments. Thanks for featuring this song Chad. I enjoyed your reactions to the comments and the video, you are a true original Chad. This is my favorite video of the song. Thank you
It's over?😂😂
Agree with everything you said. Once I get off disability and get a job again I’ll be checking out some merch. Interesting what you said about doing the same song twice. I’ve suggested this to you before, but here’s a case where you need to do two:
Chester See - Even Though I’m Gone
Acoustic is live in his living room - he’s obviously in pain and the performance shows it. Remember first two words are him saying to camera “F**k you!” Don’t know if he’s yelling at himself - I think so. The studio version is just beautiful and very different. I had sent you the links previously. Let me know if you need/want them again. Same with Bromance -there’s two versions that are different and very funny too. Great song. He’s independent and has almost 2 million Subscribers, but he’s in Costa Rica taking a break, recharging and writing. From his Instagrams, I think a whole new album of stuff is coming. A video is coming soon. They’re doing a lot of stuff back and forth electronically because his producer is in LA I think. Apparently he comes and goes to reset over the last ten years but his fans stick with him like glue! Very interesting take on Baby Got Back and Respect. Love ya! 💛
P.S. the original/acoustic of the first song is lyrics only but his video. I don’t think he could get through it live.
Robin never got molly
Thanks Massachussetts was their first worldwide hit. It was the real start of their fantastic career. About the orchestration here, I admit not being so fond of it. I prefer the outstanding symphonic strings of the original record, .... here the synths sound cheap, low-class
I like the plain old guitar and harmony version. Just the three of them.
I believe it was originally written with the Seekers (Australians) in mind. When they couldn't get it to them they decided to record it themselves and history was made. 🙂❤️
@@cindyknudson2715 - I know they gave the song "Follow the Wind" to The Seekers.
@@susieq9801 I did not know that. Thanks for the info. 🙂 I went to find it. It calls them The New Seekers. I didn't know there were two versions of the Seekers either. 🤦♀️ Always more fun things to learn.
@@cindyknudson2715 - The Bee Gees also did a version of "Follow the Wind" when they were young and still in Australia. It's on You tube.
czcams.com/video/edG6YZRc9kE/video.html
"The Seekers" vs "The New Seekers" was simply due to a few members leaving and then reforming.
Hi Chad, I know that I'm just one asking, but I'd love to see you react to this Brazilian song. It's called "Sinônimos", which means synonyms. czcams.com/video/7EjIdjKNRls/video.html
Superior aos Beatles. Mas não valorizado como Beatles
I know what you mean.......It's over?????? They could of sang it much longer
Robin has better vocals than Barry any day!
I'm a little late here. But you could not have said it any better. I love Robin!
Amen!
Definitely not true!👍
Matter of opinion Thor !
@@sherryarflin726 And matter of fact, Arflin!
NO! Does not sound like country!
Not country at all
