Bee Gees - Medley - Live 1989 - Reaction - Hudba
All the songs they're singing were written and arranged by them. They wrote over 1,000 songs. They're so phenomenal and it's so nice that they're being "discovered" by those that didn't grow up with them. This is my era and I love them even more today.
The song Heartbreaker was recorded by Dionne Warwick and written by the Bee Gees and was a big hit for her. The song Island In The Stream was recorded by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers as a duet and was a big hit
They wrote so many #1 hits over the years and not just for themselves.
They wrote their own songs and many songs for other famous singers.
There have been no family acts this creative, productive, and harmonious in modern music history. All hail the brothers Gibb!!!!
Imagine that sound, and they couldn't read music.
You know it’s true talent when 3 brothers can produce those angelic voices around a microphone.
BeeGees can't be matched
Will never be topped
They wrote all of their songs. In interviews they state they are writers first, then performers.
Robin’s voice is like a warm blanket on a cold winter’s day. ❤
They sing like angels.......AMAZING !!!
One of a kind trio! Love them!!
Their harmonies are just spectacular
Just absolutely 100 percent pure talent 💯 💯💯💯 No auto tune....never see anything like this again! 😞
Oh you have to hit Robin as the lead! He's the best! I Started a Joke from this same concert would be a great start!
Medley is a collection of songs all rolled into one.
The first Song they wrote for someone else, is called Heartbreaker song by Dionne Warrick, she is 2nd cousins with Whitney Houston
The second song called islands in the stream they wrote this song for Kenny Rogers and than it was changed to a duet with Kenny and Dolly Parton still the number 1 song by a duet in Country music.
Thank you for answering that question!
@@Texas_Loveone song among many they wrote but didn’t perform here was Chain Reaction for Diana Ross. Huge hit in the 80’s.
So good to hear Mo with his high harmonies also.
Magic, perfect harmony. Robin and Maurice gone far too soon.❤
😢
G.O.A.T
No one can beat their harmonies
Three Brothers singing, is like an instrument that money cannot buy :-) their voices is like a rare gem you cannot find it❤
Agreed. Genetics beautifully at work.
They were like a gift to the world... 💞
Falsetto at work or not! They were the best ever

It's great that you discovered the BEE GEES, they will bring a ray of sunshine to your life.
How could one family have so much talent.
These boys are the BOMB ! EVERYSINGLE SONG...UNBELIEVEABLE TALENT....LYRICS AND SOUND !
This first song New York mining disaster 1941, they wrote in the stairway at the studio during a blackout. And why not?
Songs for Dionne Warwick, Andy, Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Dolly, not to mention the countless ones they wrote for thenselves and recorded. Has their ever been a musical group this creative or talented in Modern music history, with the longevity they had as a group.
Well, you haven’t seen enough, Robin sang solo on any songs. In my opinion Robin had the best voice of all...sooooo beautiful, sooooo heartfelt and soulful. Listen to ones like Country Lanes.❤❤❤
They write EVERYTHING they sing!,
The Bee Gees are the only group I listen to that I don't skip past a single song! I LOVE them!! Have you done, "Massachusetts"? Robin sings the lead in that one. If you haven't already, please do, "One", "I Surrender", and "To Love Somebody". Thank you for doing the Bee Gees! There is no comparison in the music world!!! 🙏💜💙💚❤💗👍👏
Medley is a compilation/short version of some of their most popular songs 🎵
A medley is simply a mixture of snippets from some of their songs. They wrote for Dolly Parton and Kenny Roger’s, Barbara Streisand, Dionne Warwick to name a few. Their catalogue is vast.
Four decades plus of music wizardry. Sublime.
3 FAB, amazingly musical Brothers = AWESOME!
I Love seeing anyone who is tapping into the variety of the Bee Gees and realizing, "Holy cow, not only is their Disco bad ass, but these guys are bad ass period." Through and through my man. Enjoy!
Yeah some don't realise they do more than disco. Some of their k after ballads like Alone are just stunning.I love it when Mo sings lead eg Closer than close
@@annettelane I love Alone also, and the One Night Only performance was beautiful.
Extraordinary Geniuses ❤👍🏻😁🏴
You're absolutely right. They sound just as good live, including harmonies! Medley in this case means a collection of many of their songs that were hits over the course of their career. So yes, these are all their songs written by them. You're getting a preview of many of their songs. Alot of the early stuff featured Robin's vocals. Also this performance, as many of their live performances m, featured their humor.
This medley clip is just my favorite of everything!!!!!! They were at their best!!!!
They wrote everything they 🎶 sing! Everything! Each song is separate, but they put them together and played them together.❤❤❤
I'm in the middle of the this reaction, and you just acknowledged Robin's voice. Was patiently waiting for that for a while now. LOL
The sound of magic and wonder. Always ON POINT
I need to go back and listen to many songs again now that I have a better understanding of the band. I think I focused on Barry a lot because I first saw him in the staying alive video as the "lead" singer. Robin and Maurice are both very talented!
@@Texas_Love 👍💕
Cool t-shirts! Yes you only have scratched the surface of these guys catalog. I observe how much you enjoy these masters in music! One of the songs that comes to my mind if you want to hear Robin’s voice the original video of “For whom the bells tolls”, it is a really nice track! You will be amazed by Robin’s unique vocals!
Thank you!😁
I agree especially about the tee shirts.
This concert was one of their best. I watch the DVD over and over .
Bee gees are o
Song writers they rarely sing covers except Will you still love me tomorrow.
They right for other artists too
They wrote everything they sang big fan still listening from the very 3arly 60s to today 2023 we will never see the likes again, thank god for videos and CZcams
Islands in the Stream was Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. CMA awards voted that duet as the best of all time country duets. When Kenny Rogers won an award for it, he made sure to thank the Bee Gees for writing the song.
It's just a sampling of their hits. New York Mining Disaster was the first song, one of their early successes.
Heartbreaker written for Dionne Warwick and Islands in the Stream written for Kenny Rogers, which became a duet with Dolly Parton and the #1 all time country song.
Robin sang solo I seen him here in australia before he died. His voice was my favourite. They wrote all there songs.
RIP guys
1000% talent. Too much heaven without the falsetto is still brilliant.
Yes, they wrote all the songs they sing. And of course all the sings they wrote for Dianna Ross, Michael Jackson, Kenny Roger and Dolly Parton, Barbara Streisand and many more.
Absolutely Brothers Bee GEES..Forever ❤👏👏Robin ❤love 💜
I get a kick out of your reactions. I love that a guy from a younger generation appreciates the music I grew up on. I feel the 70's produced the most increduble music in history. And I feel so fortunate to have lived it.
Ahhh the Bee Gees! Talent on loan from God.
Medley is a collection or group of songs being sung at the same time or setting. Sometimes may not include the entire song- a sampling, if you will. And the hits just keep on coming, as the DJs used to say!
A medley is a collection of songs.
Run to me was there song All the other songs they written and gave it to other artists to sing and to use
It’s like 3 lead singer’s who came together and just said the oldest is the leader and we are happy to follow
Island in the stream was recorded by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton
Every song they sing they wrote. started sing in the 1950’s. Plus they wrote many songs for other singers, giving those singers, #1 hits.
Bloody hell! that's great memory being brought back
Here are the songs they sang in order:
1-New York mining disaster
2-Holiday
3-Too much heaven
4-Heartbreaker (Dionne Warwick)
5-Islands in the stream (Kenny Rogers + Dolly Parton)
6- Run to me
❤
3 of the songs they created in one afternoon. New York Mining Disaster, Too Much Heaven and I can't remember the third.
@@gregpek1624- "Mining Disaster" was written in 1967 during a power failure when it made them think of being trapped in a mine. It was shortly after the Aberfan mining disaster in Wales and probably on their minds. "Too much Heaven" was written in 1978 and the funds raised went to UNICEF. They did write "How can you men a broken heart" and "Lonely Days" the same day that they got back together in 1970.
@@gregpek1624 You're probably thinking of Too Much Heaven....along with Tragedy & Shadow Dancing (Andy Gibb) were written the same day in 1978😉!
@@susieq9801 Yeah... only 11 years apart😏; sometimes, us older one have to correct these "youngins", lol. (No harm meant, Greg Pek.😁)
They Erie Everything they sing!!
In music, a medley is a piece composed from parts of existing pieces played one after another, sometimes overlapping. They are common in popular music, and most medleys are songs rather than instrumentals. Wikipedia
Just another great reaction from you it’s nice to see younger people that like the Bee Gees music as much as I do
Thanks
Thank you! It's refreshing to hear real music by real musicians!
A medley is a mix,of songs
Islands in the Stream was sung by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton as a duo, it was a big hit!
And Barry sang the backing vocals.👍
Medley....is a compilation of parts of several songs...just a few verses of each. The Bee Gees wrote all their songs. Masters....all three of them...the lyrics, the music. None of them could read or write music. They could hear it in their head in their hearts and they would get together in the recording studio and work on it, each of them contributing something to every song. They wrote over a thousand songs. They wrote for Otis Redding, Barbra Streisand Celine Dion. In that medley was the duet by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers Islands in the stream. Dionne Warwick was another of one of those songs they wrote. Barbra Streisand's album titled Guilty, was her best selling album of all of hers and Barry wrote and produced every song on that album as well as singing with her. That song won a Grammy. I could go on and on forever. I listen to their music every day and I never get tired of it and it always makes me happy! No group no singers no one can touch them!
These guys wrote 5 songs in one night. All hits.
Have loved the Bee Gees music for a long time and really enjoy seeing you experience them.
Closer to 70 years old now, lived through the BeeGee era/decades.These guys were Prolific Lengends.
Robin had some solo hits during their split Juliet and How Old Are You. Barry also wrote and produced for the movie Greese in addition to Saturday Night. Let us not forget they composed for Dion Warwick,(Heart Breaker), Yavonne Elliman( If I Can't Have You- I Don't Want Nobody Baby),Diana Ross (Chain Reaction). An enormous list ,not enough room .These guys were Legendary Out lasted the Beatles by half a century.
They write all their songs.
Tragedy by COUSINS GIBB. AMAZING
This was one of their first hits!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉
This probably one of the concerts they did where they would country to country do one night in a city.
They did this because Barry was having so much back pain. And the falsetto requires so much torso effort that he's not using it much
here. His natural voice is great too!!
The best these 3 brothers around 1 mike
Google to watch their life story. They wrote all 1,000 Songs they wrote. They wouldn't let anyone change how they sang them. The Gibb Brothers. Started their band in 1958. They have a little brother also. Andy. I am 71 now. We had amazing music. They also wrote songs for other people. All Dead Now. World's greast group.
Groups of their songs, showcasing their versatility and yhese after the first 3 ate what they wrote for others...Dionne Warwick Diana Ross, Celione Dion Kenny and dolly so many Bary even sung with Michael Jackson
The Bee Gees wrote all of their songs. And a lot of other people’s songs as well.
Medley is the name given to a collection of songs put together
Il madley è un mix di piccoli spezzoni dei più grandi successi passati ☺
Maurice sings the falsettos on Nights on Broadway!
They would often roll up several of their tunes and / or those written for others into a "medley". I beleive they did this because they didn't have time to do ALL the songs and this gave the audience a taste of the popular songs across various eras. I particularly like this version of "Too Much Heaven" in the lower register. Another great reaction!
Yes they wrote all of their songs
Aussie!Aussie!Aussie!!!😊😊😊😊😊
Medley is a combination of songs, often parts of songs, as they did here. The 1963 Medley really showcases their stage presence at an early age. My favorite. In this medley, all songs were hits over the years. Robin sang many songs - you should try I Started a Joke from 1967 - or any live version. A beautiful song that never fails to bring a tear
A medley is a combination of several different songs sang one after another.
They wrote all their songs, as well as songs for other artists.
Robin sang lead in lots of their 1967-72 songs, as well as in 1987-2001 until Mo passed. Robin also had solo releases until his passing.
A medley is a collection of songs . To hear Robin at his finest and solo look for an early version of his song I STARTED A JOKE its one of the saddest songs ever and yet is brilliant at the same time , I believe it was released when the group reformed after Robin went his own way for a while . Another medley to look out for is where they sing songs written for other artists I'm not sure which concert it's in but I'm sure some of the fans can tell you .
Having to explain to someone what a Medley is --is unbelievable.
I don’t hear I STARTED A JOKE as sad. I hear his clever humor. It’s like the song it self became the joke that made people cry. It’s just that he sings it so dramatically that it sounds sad, but how can you really take “I fell out of bed hurting my head” seriously? I love the 1989 live performance, but do agree that the later performances do seem sad because I know he died too young after years of illness.
Robin wrote "Joke" in 1968, before the breakup. "Decades - The Bee Gees in the 1960's" said - "It has always been recognized as Robin's signature song and he is primarily credited it with its creation." Robin said the melody came to him "in one of those four engine prop jobs (over Essen Germany) that seemed to drone the passengers into a sort of hypnotic trance. The droning after a while took the form of a tune". When Barry was asked the meaning he said, you will have to ask Robin. To me it is a reflection of his personality. He always admitted to being a loner who had trouble communicating to people and the lyrics reflect that, at least to me. I joke and people cry. I cry and people laugh. He said the song was "spiritual" to him and would not try to explain it. I think it is a song about alienation.
@@Beejay2946 Be kind....not everyone may know what a medley is!🙄Keep up the great work, Texas Love👍!
@@Beejay2946 no it isn't, unless you think you already know everything
It means they are throwing a few of their songs togethether, and playing them next to each other.
Yes! They write everything, for themselves and everyone else!! If you have time, watch the old 1971 live concert. It’s black and white, and crackly, but it’s the best in my opinion. You get to see how vivacious Robin used to be (he and Mo.) It is truly unbelievably wonderful! And all of those great old song have totally stood the test of time. A medley is usually a group of three songs just put together. They have soooooo many songs, sometimes it is easier to mesh a few together, rather than to try to play All of our favorites. None of us would ever go home! I have a new top 3 favorite! It’s called The Only Love. If you haven’t listened to it, you’re in for a treat! Another great romantic! Islands in the Stream, they wrote it for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.❤❤❤
They have such a huge catalog they have to do a medley just to scratch the surface.
The Bee Gees only sang the songs they wrote and produced. Once exception is they did a tribute to Carole KIng and song Will you still love me tomorrow. That was sooooo goood~~
And they also sung a beatles medley
They wrote all of their songs.
God blessed them so much Many people made fun of them They all walked off the interview because the host was so rude Glad they did too
You have to do Words, the original with Barry and the one with Andy Gibb. You ll be amazed how much he sounds like Barry. What a loss at such a young age
VERY GOOD!! REACT SONG HOW CAN YOU BROKEN MY HEART LIVE BEE GEES ONE NIGHT ONLY.
A medley is simply doing many songs but only segments of each. Necessary because they had SO MANY hits to do them in their full versions. You get to hear each brother well and see their personalities in the medley as well as some of their older songs and those they wrote for others. The twins were jokers who always tried to crack up Barry, especially in interviews, while he tried to keep them in order. Consummate performers. Fingers in their belt loops (Robin) or in their pockets (M0) and beauty from their voices. This version of "Too much heaven" was in their natural voices, not falsetto. Three voices around one mic, a guitar and tens of thousands of people. Yes, they wrote every song they sang here. Robin's solo of "I started a joke" from this concert is astounding.
When they were singing together they always stood around one mic. It started in the early days and continued all the way through their lives.
Thankyou!.🎼❤️🎼
Medley ... just a sampling/compilation of many songs.
Now you've got a bunch of new songs to listen to in whole!
Enjoy the Bee Gees journey!
It's a ride! Over a thousand songs.
Have a nice day.
Medley is a group of songs
They wrote heartbreaker for Dionne Warwick and released it later by themselves. In this song Barry sings lead with his "harmonika" what you call it almost the whole song! worth to react to it!
Great song! Love the BGs singing Heartbreaker. Dionne does a gr8 job with it too.
Love your reactions... medley just means a collection of their songs, little snippets. I saw them in 1975 at a small venue and they were GREAT! I have been following them since I was a teen, mid to late 60's, love love love them. Dolly & Kenny did Islands in the Stream, Dionne Warwick did Heart Breaker.
I wish I could have seen them live, I know it had to be so new and different and fun! Thank you!
Robin is always good!!
