    The other reason for removing the injectors & cleaning them is to replace the filter screen in the injector, most o-ring kits come with the filters & you can purchase the removal tool for about $10 to go with it or you could just use a sheet metal screw with pliers to remove the filter✌

    If they had only put a " momentary switch" in the line to eliminate the tappity, sparkity, possibly blowing up something. Then one could leave it hooked to the battery constantly, and the switch insulated mostly from igniting over spray.

    Depend on where are you located (in this world) I paid $2.50 shipped for the kit. It worked great, now my 20 years old Toyota run smooth and gain 20-30% fuel economy compare to before cleaning.
    Japanese cars are easy to remove injectors, took me ≤45 mins (1st time ever) to COMPLETE the job, I mean reinstalled everything back to the car.
    BTW, If you have an older car, consider replacing a set of O-rings while you have the injectors out. Unfortunately for me, I did the process twice.

      I get what you're saying and you have a valid point.
      While the process of using this kit to clean injectors is going to be the same for just about every gasoline fuel injector (besides direct injection), the process of removing and reinstalling the injectors is going to be different for every type of engine out there.
      As part of the long process of planning, filming and editing videos for upload, I have to decide what information is going to benefit the most viewers. Including the process of removing the injectors on the vehicle in this video which represents less than 1% of the vehicles on the road today would likely be skipped over by most viewers, which harms the video's watch percentage metrics and leads to the more valuable pertinent and helpful information being able to reach less viewers because the algorithm will cut back on recommending the video.
      It could even cause confusion for a viewer when they realize that removing the injectors on their vehicle is a completely different process than I showed them with my vehicle.
      I apologize for the long winded response, but it's quite a balancing act for creators to produce content that is helpful and informative to the most viewers, while still being able to survive against an algorithm who's sole purpose is to show the viewer's content that it thinks will keep them on CZcams the longest so it can generate the most add revenue, which smaller creators like me see none of.
      Thanks for stopping by the channel, if you're looking for a source of very detailed instructions for your particular vehicle, one of the best things I can recommend is picking up a repair manual by Chilton or Hayne's. They run about 25 bucks but are incredibly useful and show a great deal of detail, such as step by step instructions.

    Nice review! I tested it out but I guess I didn't need it that much. One thing to note is that the injectors popped out a few times until I held them. I have old injectors (9 years old I think) but I've used so many injector cleaner additives in my gas tank that the spray pattern looked about the same before and after. I did not notice a change in performance neither. The only improvement was a 33% increase in the idle RPM so I guess it was working overall. I would not recommend cleaning injectors like this since it's a lot easier to add Seafoam or Berryman's to your tank before you fill up.

    Before you proceed w/this project pls wear Face Shield! Very convenient and safe. So glad I did.
    @4:02 All 4 o-rings were cut on the top by that white plastic connector after the cleaning. Probably it is combination of carb cleaner and pressure, and maybe it will be such effect on the old o-rings. I kept old, cleaned the injectors then replaced w/new o-rings. Maybe if I would put a new o-ring it wouldn't happen, I also didn't apply any oil. If oil + new o-ring maybe = good result. I used Face Shield, very glad I did. Does someone know if the injector can be partly damaged (burned)? I made a similar device, but w/push button in the circuit. It didn't work, push, spray, smth got disconnected, flied apart, so I clamped the button, like for 1-2 min (I didn't know about time regime for the injector to operate normally). The injector started to get hot I disconnected. Then I tried similar device, but w/pulse unit (set ~$35 on Amazon). Eventually figured out how everything should be done correctly, all 4 injectors click, spray, but I'm afraid that the first one is partly damaged and I don't know which one now. So that the very 1st injector in my experiments can it be partly worn, damaged, not really good if it still clicks and spray like others? I would appreciate any opinions on this matter.
    About the Flow Test ~ @ 7:35 Can those Injector Cleaning Machines for $300 (type Autool) perform that Flow Test? Thank you for a great film.

    • @TheBudgetMindedMotorist
      @TheBudgetMindedMotorist  Před 2 lety +2

      I don't think it'd work for direct injection style injectors. Port injectors like the ones in this video operate around 40 psi or so. But direct injectors operate at much higher pressure from what I understand. Like a couple thousand psi. For direct injection I'd just feed the car a steady diet of top tier fuel to keep things clean and maybe run injector cleaner through the tank occasionally if it's recommended in the owner's manual.

    Great video! Q: is it possible to back flush the injector using the the same adapter in the kit? Is it as simple as plugging it into the adapter in reverse? Does the injector plate (the one with the tiny holes) need to be removed?

    • @TheBudgetMindedMotorist
      @TheBudgetMindedMotorist  Před 3 měsíci

      I didn't remove anything from the injector, just did them as they came off the car. I did back flush mine for a brief moment as I had trouble getting the filter screens out and this was the only way I could think of to clean them out. I haven't noticed any I'll effects and the injectors still sealed fine when pressurized and not activated. That being said, I don't know all there is to know about injectors and there may be risks I'm not aware of in back flushing but that was my experience trying it.
