    I thought Pedro Porro had his best game for Spurs. He’s improved a lot defensively and offers so much going forward. He had some scrumptious passes.

      You can tell he's quality when you see him playing. Us Spurs fans all saw that last season. It was just a matter of whether Ange's system could allow him to flourish and it definitely has.

      He’s done really well considering how up and down he was last season in what was supposed to be his best position. The inverted role but with a high focus on attack seems to be a decent place for him, he will only get better as well once he gains more experience receiving the ball with his back to goal which is not natural for a rb

    For my money Raya is a better keeper than Ramsdale, but its not by some huge margin. Not totally sure if a marginal increase in quality in worth throwing out an established starter, especially when Ramsdale seems as popular with the locker room as he does.

      Raya's save against Johnson today looked spectacular, but it wasn't that technically difficult. He did well to move quickly back to his right, but the shot was slow and hanging at a nice height to see and save easily

    We all saw the handball against Wolve player this week. A cross hit a defender's leg and hit the arm. The player was lounging and even though his arm was high it was in a natural position. The arm was in a natural position. because he didn't swing his arm in the air. VAR said the the was too high that why the penalty was awarded.

    Sorry, but what are Gallagher's good qualities, to say he is an international is not enough. Is he a good creative midfielder? No. Is he a defensive midfielder? No. Has he ever achieved anything? No. is he an assist provider? No. Is he a goal scorer? With Crystal Palace yes, but nothing special and with Chelsea? No. Does he keep the ball? Yes, but does he do anything with it to warrant him not needing any of his other faults? No. Why people make excuses for him I do not understand. The player is ordinary and may look good amongst a Crystal Palace mid table and relegation fighting team, but not for a team wanting to be a top four side. That's just common sense. Peace and love

    So Tarkowski is a "rugged, important player" while Romero is "temperamental & not an easy partner to play with." Both very similar profiles/aggressive central defenders, but one is a World Cup winner and the other has 2 England caps.
    Mustoe w/ a lot of unnecessary criticism of South American players lately. Similar parallels between his criticism of "emotional" Richarlison last week followed by saying he doesn't care about Fernandes antics at Man United.

    • @jamesbaurus5928
      @jamesbaurus5928 Před 8 měsíci +1

      While I do agree with the larger premise, Tarkowski is rather savvy and not getting booked and is a little less rash in his challenges than Romero. So there is at least a sliver of truth in what Mustoe is saying.
      Dont get me wrong, Romero is the better player and I dont think its particularly close.
      All that said, i dont think Romero's problem is his temperament, but just his playstyle. Hes defends aggressively to a fault sometimes. Its just how he plays and that carries with it some risk.

    • @n_____________n
      @n_____________n Před 8 měsíci

      @@jamesbaurus5928 That's fair, but Romero is also a leader of the Spurs side that is flying. He took the armband today when Son came off. Just highlighting his faults, like with Richarlison (Brazils starting 9), seems poor.
      Also it's a racial stereotype that if you're a pundit, you should go out of your way not to play into. I wouldn't mind if he was critical of them both for being super aggressive defenders, but if anything I think you could argue that Tarkowski is an even dirtier player than Romero.
      One of the reasons why Tarkowski gets away with it more is that bias, refs are always more lenient with the English players than "dirty/cheat" South American players. I really like both players, I just think it's poor punditry in a like for like situation.

    The more I think about this Chelsea “project,” the more insane and naïve it looks. How can a club spend a billion plus dollars/pounds/Euros/crypto in about a calendar year, and not have ANY of the incoming players be proven, no doubt about, legitimate players and stars, the absolute business. Not one! Sterling was bought under Roman I believe, Silva and Chillwell were bought even earlier; the one player bought in the last year who has had any sort of established success in one of the top European leagues is Nkunku, and he’s been hurt. How can so much be spent on only potential? Absolute madness. The bizarre thing is that this isn’t how the Dodger’s, Boehly’s other team, do business. They spend, but by players who have actually proven they are a chip and have had success at the highest level.

    We all saw Romero extend his arm to deny a scoring opportunity by their so-called best referee in England, Oliver. Similar incidents have been awarded to Arsenal and some of the teams. I think this season, we have incidents happening in favor of some teams, which I think will influence the winner of this season's league title. For now, it looks like some players try as much as possible to trick referees whenever an incident happens. E.g., Saka, Grealish, and a few English players. They try as much to trick referees. We all saw the tackling made by Saka against one man utd player. It was a red-card incident, but Saka knew he was going to be red-carded. but he pretended as if the other opponent did foul him, and I was expecting VAR to check, but nothing. If players like Casemeiro, Rodri, and Onana, do the same tackling, they will consult VAR and review any incident committed by them because we have tagged those players that they play dirty. EPL has now become a laughing league for a lot of people because some teams are highly favored and their players all the time interfere with referees' decisions.

    • @deaddoll1361
      @deaddoll1361 Před 8 měsíci +3

      Madison stuck his foot in and as a result, the shot deflected upwards and hit Romero's arm instead of his legs. Over the distance of a couple of metres he hardly had time to "extend his arm to deny a scoring opportunity".
