Sweden should be a lesson to the west. Shocking
Yes! my country is lost and I am lost as well, for life ...
@@tustak lol
@tustak it cant be worse than the UK, specifically England. We are being pull apart, trampled on, overrun and overwhelmed from every possible angle, from without and within. Just in terms of immigration, there are nearly a million people a year, and that's just legal migration. And I'm told to like it, love it , never to criticise it, and even though there's hardly a thing as being English anymore, let alone being proud of it, as an English person what is left for me and people like me?
@@phily8093All over the western world. In Australia we have very tough border security but this January Immigration was the highest on record. Governments are using a short term boost for the economy that is being generated by immigration ignoring all the long term consequences. Housing shortage, medical systems under pressure, congestion etc.
@@brianwolthers2762 I'm sorry, I thought you were one of the better nations at controlling immigration, even though you are often used as some right wing extremists by wanting to control your borders by those wishing to silence anybody who says we should have more/any control over ours. I wish you all the best, and hope you stay strong. We've had our differences, but nations like the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the USA, we used to have a shared heritage, centred around free speech and fair play. It took centuries for us to get there, but the tolerance we develop made us ripe to be walked all over, whilst stronger voices with an axe to grind, and a license to be unwaveringly proud of themselves, but intensely critical of us, sadly spells our doom.
A 10 minute discussion on the horrendous crime culture in Sweden and it took until the final question to get to the heart of what is actually going on. Absolute madness.

Since 1997 the population of London has grown by 50%. And it seems most of the New Britons we've added since 1997 intend to vote Labour. What a lucky coincidence.
That situation is going to be a lot worse under the Labour Gov....

I have a lot of sympathy towards Sweden. These people came in as refugees with everything provided to them by the state, but instead of teaching their children to be grateful and actually parenting them (most do not even work so don't blame this on lack of parenting), they have raised criminals who abuse and take advantage of the kindness offered to them.
Sweden has never had a history of colonising these African/Muslim-majority countries, yet these people still act like the Swedes committed an original sin so they take no accountability for the high crime rates and blame the Swedes for not offering more integration programmes/welfare. Except whatever offered to them will never be enough. They believe they are entitled to everything whilst contributing absolutely nothing.
There is never any sense of personal responsibility with these type of people. It's always somebody else's fault, the system's fault, it's never the actions and decisions of my choosing which have led to my life outcomes.
They voted for it.

The Swedish situation is 100% related to immigгatioп from the Middle East and Africa. Swedish society also lost all connection to Christian values. Swedes now worship the State, woke values and materialism, as a sort of idol. Strange as it may sound, the UK does a betterbjobbof integrating people. That gives you an idea, how poor Sweden is at true integration - as opposed to just giving them money.
Sweden now has a right wing government incl the Christian Democrats. But it will take decades to clean up the mess after the mess created by earlier misstakes from both left/green and woke-conservatives. MeTernan is miles away. The whole world is moving to the right and this but a blip. For the next 5 years Labour could have the opportunity to turn the UK into something that looks not dissimilar to Trudeau's Canada which the Canadians are about to throw out having come to their senses.

Spot on
Yep... The country is crying out for genuine conservatism.
It's just that voting for Tories who aren't conservative or remotely competent is somehow completely unappealing... Can't think why.
It's interesting having the segment on a Labour government side-by-side with a segment on gang crime and the failure of multiculturalism in Sweden. In listening to the latter, I'm increasingly concerned about similar consequences arising from the former, here in the UK.
... as for cultural Xianity, I'm an atheist, too, and I'd certainly rather live in a culturally Xian country - which is tolerant of a plurality of personal beliefs - than an Islamic country where the religion determines every aspect of life and atheists and believers of other faiths are persecuted at worst and marginalised at best. The UK is a culturally Xian country - even without the dominance of the Church - and I hope that politicians wake up and realise that mass immigration and the pernicious influence of Islamism pose a real threat to our way of life.

I'm an Atheist and I suppose I am a cultural Christian. Although Christianity was fairly unpleasant at times, for the last 300 years it has allowed the Enlightenment and people's ability to explore other faiths and none. Christmas is still a special time and within some of my earliest memories. Growing up, I certainly don't remember any teachers having to go into hiding for offending Christians, or autistic schoolboys getting death threats for scuffing bibles.
I think people are scared, so they support something they disagree with in a time of aggressive progressivism and growing islamism. Lesser of the devil, so to speak. 'That church looks nice', but couldn't care less if it falls into disrepair.
A decent human being.
Islam is where Christianity was 500 years ago. Not that surprising, because as a religion, they were 600 years late to the party, founded around 600 AD. Whether they will ever catch up I don’t know but we have medieval beliefs in our enlightened culture in the 21st Century, and no one is pushing for change.
@dorthonian The difference being we were not happily taking everything which enlightened nations have on offer, from of course science, technology, medicine, indeed a whole better standard of life, plus being tolerant of other faiths, while often seeking to impose backwards, medieval beliefs onto those who have been so generous towards us.
Being a passive observer doesn’t transmit and perpetuate the practices, identity and beliefs of a culture on. Being culturally Christian means being Christian. Once you stray from that path the culture as a whole begins to disintegrate eventually leading to the present situation.
What terrible things have Labour got planned for older homeowners? I feel very worried about this. Why wasn't this questioned in more detail? I am not voting Labour now!

The Beyonce album is so so bad. The fact that there are so many songs on it shows you how bad it is. It's just cliched riff after clichéd riff ripped off one after the other, and ruined in the same way that netflix take serious subjects and destroy them in a made-for-people-holding-their-phones-whilst-watching-tv manner
Exactly. Beyoncé never was any good at singing as evidenced by her performances -a lot of scantily dressed women (including herself) and men, and all gyrating and prancing around on stage.
It's cultural appropriation. She is a hypocrite. Her fans never call out her BS, but they criticise white people for stealing their music and style.
Fredrik Kärrholm is not just a police officer (15:55). He is the policeman at the top of the top. He has extensive experience from the street to the top police administration and in addition a bachelor's degree in criminology from Stockholm University and a master's degree in criminology from Cambridge University. He wrote the Police handbook that is used at all police academies in Sweden. After he left the police, he was the co-owner of a security company and is now a full-time Member of Parliament.
So he benefits from mass crime in other words.
So "everyone" is talking about the new Beyonce album? No they are not! I couldn't care less - an attitude, I believe, shared by the majority of those who watch this channel. I will continue to listen to the good music produced in the 1970s by talented musicians. It's not, but it is rather pointless to bemoan the loss of a Christian culture when you wrote a book that encourages ppl to abandon the idea of God. A Christian culture can only exist where Christians exist. Many in the media/political circles speak of a “climate crisis” - many in those sectors also speak of “net zero” - many ordinary people speak, on the other hand, of a “migrant crisis” and, also, of something close to “net zero immigration” - quite a “disconnect” - and I’m not sure this video acknowledges the “widening chasm” … 🧐
I wish we had such clear minded leadership in our own Police Service.
It will be a catastrophy for the country.
The problem with going after taxing wealth first over work is that those with wealth already would rather do anything than give it to a government that they perceive will just waste it. So if you have a tax on wealth at say over £10m they’d rather buy a new Ferrari on the last day of the financial year and drive it a mile out of the garage so that it loses half its value than give it to the government.
Re the election, I'm not sure the country is that gullible. The conservatives have let their supporters down badly by becoming a quasi - socialist government, so why would everyone move to vote for a socialist party? Second, Labour will suffer from the same problem the Conservatives have had - a party so large that it represents everything from Left, to Right MP's, impossible to successfully manage from a strategy point of view. With regard to wealth tax, well we all know about Labour taxation and 'other peoples money'. I would give it no more than 3 months before everyone is regretting Labour being in power.

It's always amazed me how music can be transformed into scientific and social theory. Maybe somebody can enlighten me.
Well racism got turned into history for a month, women can become men in under a month. Sensible times are over, queers for palestine and George galloway for PM :D
It has amazed you, really? At University we learned that music, politics and economics are inextricably linked.
Here are some examples :
music in mediaeval Bruges flourishing due to major wealth generated by trading especially the wool trade: this also applied in Antwerp in the 16th century; this port city became a centre of printing, leading to music publishers being able to disseminate music internationally.
Rome and Venice were successful city-states where architecture, art and music flourished (also science) with the overwhelming influence of the Catholic Church driving much of this development.
Vienna, the epicentre of the Austo-Hungarian empire, became the world centre of 'Classical' music with Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Schubert the 4 titans of the style all originating from there.
Flourishing economic situation in Paris at end of 19th into 20th centuries led to rise not only of visual arts but also music with Debussy, Fauré, Ravel and 'Les Six'.
In the USA look at the distinction between West and East Coasts of America in jazz in the 1950s and 1960s; broadly speaking East Coast being tied to a dynamic political sense of Black Consciousness with the West Coast more relaxed and more related to entertainment not social revolution. 'Hard bop' vs 'cool jazz'.
In UK the funding available to niche modernist music in the 60s, 70s and 80s has tailed off to the situation now where there is almost no funding, so instead of avant-garde modernists we now see that Karl Jenkins is the UK's No.1 composer - as popularity is now the single overwhelming factor in artistic success in the UK due to profit generation. The likes of Birtwistle would not have been able to earn a living as composers had they been born 30 years after they were.
This is the tip of the iceberg and I have omitted several dozen other examples I could cite.
One hopes you will be less amazed in years to come.
Music (and architecture, art, literature, science etc) is inextricably linked to economically and politically flourishing times.
Consider mediaeval Bruges, 16th-century Antwerp, the Spanish Netherlands and the Habsburgs, 17th century Rome and Venice with Monteverdi and Palestrina, 18th century Vienna. How did one city give us 4 titans of Classical music ? Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn and Schubert are those to whom I refer.
The history of Jazz in USA is deeply enmeshed with social and political developments.
One might cite dozens of other examples.
All the niche avant-garde music of the 50s flourished due to cultural promotion budgets, think of Stockhausen, Boulez inheriting the modernist baton from Varèse and Stravinsky. And now in UK the principal valued factors are popularity and profitability - and so we learned last week that Karl Jenkins (bless him) is UK's No.1 classical composer.
One hopes you are now a little less amazed and a touch more enlightened.

There's an elephant in the room regarding Richard Dawkins. In that article he did in the Spectator in January he cited the case of an ally in the atheism push succumbing to Christianity because she thought it preferable to Islam and a buffer to it. I hate to mention Christopher Hitchens, but it was only really him that was brave enough to criticise Islam, and I wonder if he would have today given its current political influence?
The Eagles were great songwriters and there are many styles within all music genres. So reductive to sneer about what is pure jazz, pure country, et al.
Fun fact: the Eagles sang back-up for Linda Ronstadt. She helped them financially go on their first tour (I think-don’t quote me on that). I still love the Eagles, and listen to their music. The mistake is when you let in a crowd of muslims, who do not at all respect Swedish values. When some politicians or media people warned about this they were called racists, and they were effectively silenced by left wing public service. In the fifties Sweden had a prime minister who warned about mixing people from absolute different cultures. After him Olof Palme became prime minister and then it all started.
New Britain Constitution, New Britain Constitution, New Britain Constitution.
Why do these pundits believe that, as tory voters don't believe the Conservative Government is conservative enough, why do they believe that these people will rush to Labour?
Zero seats! Zero seats! Zero seats!
On that heavenly note... I like it!
Don't forget, fraser is/was very pro migration... He seems very puzzled by this increase in crime and youth crime 🤔
Fraser Nelson is not a conservative. But then, nor is the Cabinet. Metropolitan, Social Democrats.
36:22 Taking a look at the Islamic world (and parts of modern England) might help you out there...
Her naive attitude sums up why, the way this country is being run, Christianity will be outmuscled by Islam given time
No it wont
@@lena-Ramone Christianity shrinking, Islam growing, aided by masses of more Muslims being imported. But I guess you're right, magic will put a stop to the trend
It already is because they have no problem with unhinged violence but Christians turn the other cheek
"No one is born bad." Nah, everyone is born bad.
No labour. Ever.
Don't miss Mcternan saying Labour will push for wealth taxes, taxes on pensioners, taxes on home ownership, to pay for an ever more bloated public sector
The point about Montesquieu should make us reflect a bit more, I think. Montesquieu isn't unique among writers, either. A lot of the enlightenment thinkers agreed with him. John Fortescue, centuries earlier, agreed with him. Napoleon made this a matter of government policy.
Nor was this view unique among intellectuals. You'd complain it was something your wife made you do and all the priests were gay. Religion was always more popular with women than with men.
Something else is happening now. I don't think Richard Dawkins deserves all - or even most - of the blame for the collapse in Christianity. Christianity can survive mockery.
Meanwhile, there's a female vicar in this interview who I think might be closer to being part of the problem. No one wants to go to a church that doesn't believe in itself. Catholic church attendance has only declined after Vatican II. The collapse in church attendance is concentrated with the mainline protestant faiths and, to a lesser extent, the Catholics. Evangelicals are doing just fine in the US, the census says, while they're expanding dramatically in many developing countries. In orthodox countries, Christianity has actually been on the up for the past few decades, recovering from communism. If your church isn't counter-cultural, if its beliefs are generally accepted by a modern audience, you're doing it wrong.
Great conversation about country at the end - thank you!
The more I hear Labour apparatchics, the more I fear for the country's future if Labour is elected. Stormy weather!
Thanks for another great show, despite the worries I have about Starmer
The value of property is skyrocketing because of mass uncontrolled immigration; it's supply and demand.
the financial benefits of selling drugs has become idolized
The big green elephant in the room - IZLOOM!
I’m voting for Betty Banana.
The book 📕 called the Kuuuuuurrran that defines how you live sees the infidel as prey ….you are able to kill an infidel as it has less value than a believer
Do you like the music? Who cares what colour the skin of the artist's skin is if you like the art? I heard 'Texas Hold 'Em recently and really liked it.
Moving to the left haha. When the choice is Left or Far Left
This discussion begins to clarify the British form of government for me. And in such plush, posh tones! The editor - is it Fraser Nelson - is quite clear and obviously as clever as any American! In fact, my favorite newspaper, the Wall Street Journal, has a British editor-in-chief.
Sorry Dawkins, you can't have your "christian culture" without Christianity.
Christianity is a personal decision that pertains to one's own journey - do not see the point in listening to people's views as they have zero purpose
We have absolutely no idea how many crypto-Atheist-Christians there are, especially historically, but I imagine there are much larger numbers than recognized.
Amazing, but not surprising! Two women talking about Christianity who aren't even believers! Christ wont have anything to do with you if you don't believe His word.
McTernan is telling you what will happen.
Yes he is. It'll take Starmer years to do anything.
@@tomk8729Strange that you only raise a point McTernan didn't make, whilst ignoring the many important points that he did.
