2011 Mazda 2. Seven years ago my daughter lost the key and we had to use the spare. I found it a year later down the back of the couch. The buttons no longer worked. FOR SIX YEARS I have been manually locking and unlocking the car. SIX YEARS! I have no idea why this video came up in my feed at 1am as I was going to bed. But I just tried it and it works!!! Thank you!!!!
This works!! It took a few moments to cycle through, but after that I am back in business! Thank you so much for saving me time and money!
Just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU! Your instructions worked perfectly, even though my Mazda is a right hand drive! I'd seen previous instructions about turning the light on and off three times - total twaddle.
I'd just replaced my battery and was very peed off that it wouldn't work. I watched your video once, and 'hey presto' - spot on. Thanks again, you've saved me £££'s. If anyone wants to know I have a 2002 Mazda Premacy Gxi 1.8 litre. Thank you sweetcheeks, I'm thrilled :-D
Thank u man! Works like a charm on my 2012 Mazda 2 and also starts working third button for trunk release that i've never had before! Thank you!
Im about to buy a 2012 Mazda 2. Thanks for verifying!
WOW! worked perfectly. Even the locksmith couldn't do it with his fancy gadgets, but this worked. I'm STOKED! Thanks (2010 mazda 6)
Thanks for this video; it worked and now my wife loves me again! I tried a few times and the last time I skipped the 'lock and unlock door' step and went to the 'press the unlock on the remote twice' and it reprogrammed that time.
Thank you so much! This totally solved my problem where both my remotes stopped working! The people I talked to all said I should change the battery. After paying $5 to change one, nothing happened so I found your video when I googled the problem, did the steps at the same time as you, and it worked!!
I used it on a PK 2011 Ford Ranger with a Key Fob in Australia. Meaning right hand drive. Worked perfectly first time. Thanks for posting the video.
I bought yesterday two new keyfob remote control. I will try programming them next week. Hope this steps will work.
7:49 PM, 6/21/2021 - just programmed a fob for my Protege5, with the help of this video. Thank you!
Wow it actually worked on my 2006 mazda 3. Took 3 tries but finally synced. Thanks
I have a mazda 3 2006 which has issues with the remote. Can you plz recommend me where i can buy a replacement remote from?
Thanks for you help. I'm in Western Australia and your CZcams video just worked for my son's 2009 Mazda 3 hatch in Nov 2020. Love it.
It worked like a charm on my 2003 Mazda Protege5! Thank you very much. It was the second time I had to reprogram the remote key. The first time I went to a Mazda dealer and the key was reprogrammed at no charge, but it's much more convenient (and empowering!) to be able to do it myself! Thanks again.
Michel Bruyère did your Mazda keyless entry stopped working and you reprogrammed it? Or did you buy a new key and programmed that one? Please help!
Thank you!!!!!!!!! I just programmed my remote by following your directions 😀
Many thanks for this video, it was annoying me that I couldn't get my central locking to work after changing the battery in the fob but this video showed me where I was going wrong 👍
Thank you so much bru, my key just stopped working after i removed the battery, tried ur instructions and it worked instantly.
Lost of words but thank you so much appreciate it
Thank you - followed your instructions and it worked spot on. I have noted that some other instructions say to remove the key from the ignition after turning the ignition on and off three times however this did not work for me. Leaving the key in the ignition as per your instructions worked. Thanks again and all the best - Cheers.
Worked great on my 2008 mazda 3. Was not a smart remote key, but never came with keyfobs. So an aftermarket keyfob and this video gave me keyless entry after owning the car for several years not having it.
Thanks heaps! Struggled to find the right thing to do for my KQ Ford Laser. This worked a treat! (Mazda 323/ Ford Laser are very similar). Legend!
Thanks for this instructional video. Worked first time reprogramming my remote for a Mazda 323 ba Astina hardtop.
It works on my 2007 Mazda 3. Thank you! Just bought a used key fob from eBay and programmed it using this technique. Now I just need to get it cut and program the chip at the locksmiths :)
Hi, I'm really struggling with the same car as yours, please help
Yes, you simply have to push the button on each other remote before exiting the programming mode. You can have up to 4 working remotes.
You're a genius, It was so simple to reprogram my Madza Protégé 5. I followed instructions to the letter and figured it out on the first attempt. You have no idea how much your video helped. I saved myself 100.00 dollars or more programming my own vehicle. Again, thanks alot.
That is correct. The "switchblade" key is only available for 2010 on the Mazda 3 model. The 2004 Mazda 3 has a separate key and remote as shown on our website; however, the programming procedure is the same for the remote whether it is separate or switchblade.
Worked great on my uk spec Mazda 3. Thanks for the info and an easy to follow video.
2008 Mazda 6, 2 years thinking the fob didn’t work for me. THIS PROGRAMMING WORKED FOR ME!!
Perfect! Worked like a charm for my 2008 Mazda 5. Thank you for posting your video.
@David Gorris Mine wasn't a new key/keyfob ... my old one just stopped working for the door locks. Once I replaced the battery I had to go through the procedure noted in the video to get the keyfob synched to the car again. It's been a LONG while since I needed a key/keyfob for a vehicle. Last one was for a Ford more than 10 years ago. I did have to get that done at the dealer and it cost about $75, but I'm sure prices have changed since then.
Thanks heaps! I did it on my 2005 Mazda 3 and it worked. I would only add that I first needed to start the car with the door closed, then turn off the engine, open the door and follow the rest. I also left the key in the ignition. Crazy but brilliant!
thank you for showing this. works a treat.
thank you so much, I just went to a Mazda dealer and they only take my money, because I buy the remote control in eBay and not with them, but now I did program my remote control by my self .
This worked for me. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much sir for this lovely video . I got my new remote working just following the steps you showed in this video.
Thanks a lot! I was able to program one of my mazda 3's key fob to work on my mazda 6. AMAZING
A little tip if you have a key release button, you don't have to turn the key to the release position each time. Just turning the key from run to the acc position worked for me. I had some issues at first trying to turn it to the release position until I tried it without pushing the key release each time. Just thought I would share in case anyone else was having this problem.
OMG this is literally the only way that it went into the programming mode. THANK YOU
Sir
How i can programming a new reomte but with out old remote.
Just i have normal key!
Thanks a lot you save me time I do exactly what you are saying and my remotes work great 👍 Thanks a lot
If anyone is having trouble getting their Mazda 3 into programming mode like I was at first, I discovered that, at least for my car, I had to additionally manually press lock/unlock on the driver's side door at the beginning after you open the door but before the key cycling. Every thing else as explained in this video worked great. Thanks!
Daniel MacDonald Some cars are a little quirky and require a few tweaks to the programming process. Glad to hear you got it working :)
My car wouldn't go into programming mode. I had to push my key inwards and hold it inwards the whole time to make sure it knew my key was in the ignition. After I did that it worked flawlessly. I've been trying to figure this out for years.
BumperPlates dude you're a life saver. After I held my key in, it finally works. Thank you veryone for the tips.
HOLDING THE KEY IN THE ENTIRE TIME FOR MAZDA 3 - THANK YOU 🙏🏻
Thank you Sir, great instructions and very helpful.
thanks a lot!! worked for my mazda5 and saved me 130 bucks !!
Worked on 2013 Mazda5 Sport. Thank you so much! This saved me $140!
ptys007 What I found is that this just enables the remote to work. The key still needs to be programmed by the dealership or else it won't start the engine...
+ptys007 *** YES ***this is often over looked. The original remote has a transponder chip which controls the engine immobiliser feature which needs to be programmed by a Mazda dealership or professional locksmith.
Thank you so much! great video, very helpful!
Just worked!! Thank you so much!
First try and it worked. Thanks for the video. 😃😀
I can confirm this works with Mazda DEMIO on a fob model No 41601.
Really great! Thanks a lot.
Thank you, this procedure worked on my UK 2007 mazda RX-8..happy days
Just programed a second remote. Thank you very much!
2009 MX5 - it worked for me - thank you
great video, very easy to program
This worked. For my 2012 Mazda. Had 1 working Key and purchased 2 off-brand keys. Went through these steps and now they all lock/unlock the door. Now have to get the 2 keys cut. I am unclear whether there is a chip that also needs programming in order to start the ignition. Just one note. Be sure to do the working key. My first attempt I managed to program the 2 new keys and unprogram the original key. On the second attempt I pressed the unlock button on all 3 keys and that did the trick. Good luck.
+Michael Phillips Yes, there is also a chip in the key that will require separate programming by dealer or locksmith to be able to start the car with the keys. Happy to hear you got the remotes working. :)
+carandtruckremotes how much on average does it cost to get the other (to start ignition) portion programmed? And what am i asking them to do so that i wont get charged for the programming you just showed us. thanks
what solutions do you provide for the Mazdaspeed 6 (2006)? Credit card style fob for keyless entry and ignition...
OMG! You saved me $225!!!!! Thank you!
worked very well with me. Thanks
Great video.. I just replaced my battery Worked first go...there's so many other videos on this but they don't work thanks again
This seemed to odd to me, but to my suprise I was able to get it on the first try. Thanks !
does this work on a 2007 Mazda 3?
Hi, I watched your video several times and followed your instructions for my 2006 Mazda 3 but the new fob will not work. Any suggestions?
It’s working thank you so much even works with the car start up
You are the best. Thanks
I have a 2008 Mazda 3. When I got the car from the dealer, it didn't come with a remote, just a key. I called Mazda and gave them the vin number of my car and they said that my particular car doesn't come with the remote option. If I got an aftermarket remote, would it work? My car has power locks...
Verry helpful. Thanks a lot for this video. Without it I would've not been able to pair the key with my car.
Thanks. It worked with my Mazda 3 2005
Does it need any extra features or parts installed in the car or I just need ta key to program it with my car?
Any tips for a 2019 version?
Thank you! You are a blessing!
2012 MAZDA 2 WORKED PERFECT THANK YOU SO MUCH
Im about to buy a 2012 Mazda 2. Thanks for verifying!
@@hagar6908 Good luck wish you the best !
Thanks!! I'm going buy your guys remote pretty soon! :)
my issue it is i am missing remote starter engine from outside could i find any universal remote that can replace my old one or programming it
If worked on mazda 5 2006 ? Thank you
Worked like a charm
can you re-programme a key that was previously set up to another car or can you only programme them once? ive heard conflicting sides
How do you replace the shell on a already programmed Smart key on a Mazda CX-7 2007? And if I buy the other key remote (Keyless Entry Remote + key) will it replace my current ( Keyless Entry Smart Remote) programming?
Thanks so much for the vdeo. it was better than instructions that came with the remote.
Hello. I own a Mazda 3 2004 Hatchback. The key comes with a seperate remote control for lock/unlock. Can i use your remote switchblade key? I understand that i have to cut and program the key but if i do that and follow your instructions on the video for the remote part will it work? Thank you. Greetings from Greece!!!!
is there a way to get the old remote working again after it died during the programming session?
This is so awesome thank you!!
Do you think you’d ever do another video that’s updated for a 2016 and later?
Thank you, just did it on a new remote and it worked right away, took about 2 minutes, thanks for the vid.
hi bro, is that the only remote for your car or you do have another one working just add a new one? as I did exactly the same way but nothing happened after press remote botton twice, I heard that there are two different remote for the rx8, which you do you use? thanks a lot~
What do I do if i have lost the original programmed key fob? And I just get replacement and program it or is the original required? Some one please advise. Thank you.
awesome! thank you! worked for me :)
thank you very much, its help with my mazda mpv 2003👍👍👍
Hello. I have a Mazda 6 year 2006. Can you please guide me to get the correct fob that so I can program it. I only have the ignition key no fob. Thank you. JC
im using mazda demio 1.5 2006 which one comes with card reader or you can use keyless when the remote is near.. unfortunately when I was washing pants in the washing machine i forgot my key . so it not working anymore i can only acess the door using the key but without remote it doesn't start so any ideias???
Works great, thanks!
Hey, I just want to ask if this fob will work on Canadian 07 mazda3? Because I heard that it doesn’t work on Canadian version of mazda3
Thank you so much for making this video I almost payed 300$ to program my vehicle and your steps actually work.
Thanks car and truck Remotes, funciono perfect in my car!!! Mazda 5 , les recomiendo 💯 % ....
Great info! Worked perfect!!!
My 2013 Mazda 6 does the lock cycle after I open and close the door 3 times but it doesn’t do anything after that when I hit the lock or unlock button twice……I know this post is very old but any advice would be awesome…thank you
I am working on a 2008 Mazda 3. I am trying to program the remotes. I am at a repair shop that lost the remote key. when I do the same procedure you did in the video, after opening and closing the drivers 3x the locks do not cycle to indicate I am in programming mode. I can see the door light on the dash so i know it pick up the open/close signal. if I remove the key or close the door, the lock will cycle 2x to let me know I am exiting programming mode. have you ever seen this issue ?
quick tip. You saw that original stopped working. What happened is that he didn't also double tap it's 'unlock' button quickly after doing the 2nd fob. I did the same mistake too. I had to go back. get to that step and then SUPER QUICK, double tapped the 2nd fob, and then quickly double tapped the original in the ignition fob as well. Then presto! My original worked and so did the 2nd one. I realized it wasn't clear in the instruction video, and I read elsewhere and some people didn't stress that enough...
Do you know what the programming procedure is for a Celice gts 2001 model please ?
you have to be watching the video very closely after the 3 off-on cycles you leave the KEY in the ignition and then close the already opened door 3 more times. Then the computer will give you a 60 second window to press the unlock button of each fob ONCE, for a Maximum of 2 remotes. Do not press unlock twice on each remote!!! as that will overwrite the 2nd slot on your 1st fob.
Hi. I have a 2007 Mazda 6. When I got the car from a dealer it did not come with a remote control. I only have the key. How can I program a remote to work with my car?
Will it work for Mazda 2 2011 Sedan. I mean only door lock/unlock system?
My drivers side is the only door that locks/unlocks...is there some code or fuse to have all doors unlock?
Have a 2006 Mazda 6 and all of a sudden both fobs stopped working. Thought it was the battery so changed in both but still didn’t work. Used this method and it worked! Only problem is just like the video, I could only do one of the two fobs I had in the car. Tried a few times but could only do one and not the other. Is there a way around this?
My car came with 2 keys and 1 remote. So can I buy a remote (have the current remote in the car) and follow these steps to have the new remote programmed?
Hello from germany, i've a mazda 3bk from 2004. It's the same way to program ?
Thanks, worked for 2006 Mazda 3. However, my lock button was acting as my panic button and vice versa. Very frustrating but I finally figured out it isn't a programming issue. I had purchased replacement fobs from ebay and they installed the circuit board upside down. With a small flat head screw driver it's easy to pop open the fob and reverse the circuit board. now if I could only disable that damn panic button...
The same thing happened to me... Tried programming an eBay fob since the battery fell out of my old one, and set off the alarm. But it's not working now so maybe I'll try again
+roverspinne yes it's very easy to reverse the circuit board and I was even able to pry the panic button off the board (just the tiny white button at the top of the apparatus) so the red button is still there but no longer functions
Thanks a lot. Worked fine with a new key fob from China. 👌
