Great job making this process clear and easy to understand, I’ve seen way too many installs gloss over this key step in the setup process.

This method is correct way of installing coilovers, we must continue to educate the community on this👍🏼

Question: after I've determined the bump stop height and set the car back down, are you saying additional height adjustment lower (by adjusting the shock body length) may compromise full compression ability? Basically, if you want full compression "safety", you really shouldn't mess with the height after determining the correct bump travel limitations, correct?

If you’re just using the spring perch to set ride height (after this process), then you are only effectively changing the point of travel at which the vehicle will be at ride height.
By lowering the vehicle( from the spring perch),you are decreasing bump travel, and increasing droop travel. By raising the vehicle(by the spring perch), you are increasing bump travel, and decreasing droop travel.
By using the spring perch to adjust ride height (after setting bump stop height via the method shown in this video), you will never run into interference with the body and such.

@@TM-fx5le if you lower the car via the spring perch, you could be slamming your bumpstops though, and that's going to make for a terrible ride. And your springs might end up being loose at full droop, then you need a helper spring. The coilovers he was showing in the video adjust height via the shock body, so if you lower it further, then you will have body interference.

Will adjusting ride hieght from the spring affect total shock travel?

Wondering if that level of shock was enough for you handling needs, iam looking at those for my 335i

I’ll let you know! It feels a lot better but won’t be able to get it to the track until the end of the month to really try it out

Howdy! Not sure what you’re asking haha I still have the spare tire in the trunk for emergencies but rarely drive the car off track so don’t expect to need it
