- It’s time for the “Chip Shack” on Coney Beach. The last fish and chip shop we have to try in Porthcawl.
This was chip shop number 9. It has been a proper chip shop. No kebab shops, burgers or general fast food. They have to be proper chippies.
The Chip Shack is one of the chip shops which are only open during the holiday season. It overlooks Coney Beach, just outside Coney Beach funfair.
We order cod and chips, curry sauce and as a treat, a sausage in batter. As usual, we score it out of 10.

Heading down next week, porthcawl is my happy place, haven’t been in 6 years due to everything going on in the world and our lives, have decided to go to Beales as that’s my mams favourite, I avoided Mansels for many many years as in the 90s my dad had “ the worst beans and chips he has ever eaten” I’m sure it’s been many different owners since then but that review stuck in my head 😂, glad I found this channel it’s brought back memory’s and I can’t wait to see more porthcawl videos, thank you 😊

First time I’ve seen this video,sad to hear it’s the last one,I’ve enjoyed them all.I don’t think there’s much to choose between the permanent ones,I know which is your favourite and it reminds me so much of Porthcawl because of where it’s situated.We’ve used Beatles quite a few times because if the weather is rough it’s easier being seated etc.No matter which fish and chips you were eating you always made me feel hungry and they always looked appetising.Thanks once again.Looking forward to next series.

Hello from the States. Just watched all of chips videos. Nothing like enjoying some fish ‘n’ chips while taking in the seaside views. If you ever make it to the States and you find yourself in Ocean City, Maryland (there is an Ocean City, New Jersey), try some Thrasher Boardwalk fries (chips). Best chips ever. No need for sauce. Stay well and be healthy.

Fish and Chips with watties Tomato Sauce and vinegar sometimes is our way of having our Fish and Chips in plain white paper (newsprint) and wrapped in newspaper sometimes and make a hole in the top if you having them as an individual, otherwise with others one opens up the wrapped up Fish and Chips to share with others on a table on the grass if out...the Kiwi way...thanks for sharing
We were in Porthcawl last week its Beales all the way for me
Got to get yourselves to Maundy's in North Cornelly. Best fish chips and curry sauce by far.

One thing we can't get over on video, the fresh chip smell mmmmmm!
First time I came down to Porthcawl I had no idea what fruity and Irish curry sauce was, we went with fruity but I think Irish is more like the traditional curry sauce up in the midlands
Not a fan of fruity myself, definitely has to Irish curry sauce with chips.
Please do reviews in abertawe, ive only been to 2 so far and they were both mediocre at best. I like skin on the fish and both didnt have any :(

That Finnegans as well. We only were only doing one per business. We actually eat in there some evenings as it’s close to us.
